Yeah right the cult of Cornette just mad because this media scrum exposes every take Jim had about no one to ants to jump to the secondary indie fed promotion ran by the Elite 😂 and Jim was convinced Edge would never do this
I really don’t believe that’s the reason honestly. If he told wwe what aew offered I’m sure they’d at least match that, I do think he wanted to work with Christian
@@Absinthexx7 Why would WWE match it? Edge is a talent in decline, they had a clear idea of what they valued him at, and they also didn't want to have him wrestle a full time schedule for his own safety. I'd agree that he wanted to finish his career with Christian, but lets be honest here, he'll have known how much AEW were willing to offer which is why the reports came out that the WWE and him were far apart in negotiations. My big worry is that he feels like part of his career was taken from him by injury and he wants to get it back, so he is ignoring the health risks to go to somewhere that will push him more, and the money was a nice bonus
@@neilbiggs1353 I mean you’re right that wwe wasn’t going to give him a full time deal and we don’t know how much Tony paid him, but as for why I think they’d be willing to match? There’s plenty of reasons, for one vince is petty and will fight to not lose a legend like edge to aew. The other reason is edge can be a big draw on a mania or any event really like a saudi show, survivor series or whatever. I think there’s lots of reasons wwe would want to keep edge. I also look back at something like when everyone thought owens would jump and he didn’t, i think people forget wwe still has a massive amount of money they offer their bigger stars. I do agree with everything else you said, and maybe Tony did just offer a massive ridiculous amount (it seems likely considering it’s Tony lol) but I just don’t believe that’s the main reason he moved over. I think he just wanted to wrestle full time and with Christian on the new show. I agree I’m concerned anyone with a history of injuries goes there, but I’ve tried to stop thinking about that at all. Anyone who goes there knows, and until Tony ends up in a legal battle over it nothings ever going to change
@@Absinthexx7 At the same time, VInce was also someone who was happy to let people use him to negotiate big money from other promotions. He would actively tell wrestlers to make claims about what they were being offered if it helped them earn more elsewhere when he had decided it was OK to move them on. I'm also unconvinced that the WWE see AEW as any kind of threat given how stagnant their ratings are, and you see that with how they've released people like Bray Wyatt in the past
Honeymoon phase will wear off and hell likely be like punk and cole. Home and hurt more often than not. But i wish him well. But aew and triple fusion is a bad bad combo.
@@Joseconcepcion-xs6dche’s talking in terms of likeliness of injury, not how he gets along with people. Edge being on a full time schedule is not going to end well for him and likely will end up with an injury.
Exactly, as weird as it is to see "Cope" in AEW. The fact that he's going to wrestle full time at 49 with a bad neck against this roster is horrifying. he had a great last match and wish he'd retired.
I mean let’s consider the meaning of full time in AEW versus full time in the WWE. In the WWE that means 150+ matches and is a big concern to hear. In AEW they don’t have an extensive house show schedule and the like where he’d be wrestling a crap ton of matches being full time. The most matches Christian has had in a year in AEW is in the 20s. The perceived “workhorse” in AEW, Jon Moxley, had 47 or 48 matches in 2022. So him being full time will assuredly be more matches than the ten he’d have had in a WWE part time deal but it’s not some absurd workload like some may be perceiving by hearing full time. It just means he will be around and on the shows a lot, which will probably be more promo stuff than anything.
@@Matt-cr4vvwwe limited Edge from wrestling as often as he wanted partly to protect the guy. Edge wasn’t about that. Plus in wwe they went from 200-300 matches to around a 100 matches this year and even then only Cody and Dom Mysterio have reached a 100. Triple H has made it a priority for wrestlers to be able to be at home as well as take safety even more serious than more thanks to his near death experience. Something about Adams entrance felt off. Remember in WWE when he would make his entrance, he would run to BOTH sides of the stage to get the fans hyped up? Yet in AEW, he only runs to the hardcam side. Rewatch his debut you can see him look and want to go to the other side, but there isn’t anyone to “pander” to. 😂

Edge says WWE wasn't using him as much as he wanted but he made it abundantly clear he wouldn't make another year in wrestling and that he needs to prepare a lot to wrestle nowadays but now can do weekly shows at AEW?........
I like the idea of Edge and Christian working together again but the fact that it will be in AEW just saddens me...I have no hope that things will work out any better for Adam than they did for Punk or Regal who also wanted and tried to help...I hate to see Edge go out like this 😒
Someone I thought for sure would be a wwe guy for life. This is gonna be a smudge on his career. He is the rated R superstar. He will always be the epitome of awesome. He got started with Christian and had some of the most memorable matches against the Hardys and 3D, but when he went singles he really shined. His comeback at the royal rumble genuinely made me cry. The things he did when he returned was really great with the brood theme and man it was perfect. I thought he had more stories to tell in wwe but I guess he just really wanted to go hang with Christian once more.
The WWE didn't really wanna do much with him going forward it seems so Tony's dropped the brink's trunk at his house and he gets to spend a couple years maybe wrestling the guys and doing the angles he wants because this is a guy who's been doing it 30 years so he'll know what he wants to do and how to do it but he also said he wants to be there to help guys out but as regal and punk and a few of the older heads found out certain guys love the smell of their own farts and think because they started a quote on quote wrestling revolution they don't have to listen to anyone
Something Jim and Bryan let slide was in the first couple minutes is where Tony said "he's been wrestling at the highest level the last couple years". So Tony accepts that just being in the WWE is the highest level. Thanks guys.
Edge, I think, wanted his dream farewell match. A match with John Cena at Wrestlemania. With the Writer's Strike over and Cena needed for Peacemaker Season 2, the plan was dead in the water. I just hope the "EVPS" don't piss him off.

Christian and MJF are the only guys on this roster doing something interesting and entertaining during these media scrums instead of taking this shit serious and blowing smoke up everyone's ass.
I want to best for Edge/Adam Copeland but man he has to be wondering what he's doing in AEW just to wrestle with "Uncle Jay" after seeing a half-empty arena. He could even do his full intro. Edge and Christian will be a great feud but man I do worry for him wrestling with or being involved with most of the AEW talent. His talents and knowledge will not be welcomed by the Metlzer Circle Jerk squad. I'm sure WWE didn't see anything more for him, what else could he do? I don't see him winning another championship. I still wish Adam Copeland the best and will do my best to support him, I want things to be different for him, but I feel like he'll be like every other signing. Jim saying you “don’t need tact in wrestling” is so fucking refreshing to hear. We have come up in a society too much where everyone in every field has to nice people to death and pussyfoot. They would rather be passive aggressive instead of forward.
In fairness, Christian's character is currently running around AEW openly saying on mic that he's glad that the fathers of young talent are dead. That's not exactly tactful nor is it PC..

Of course, as I write this, Jim is saying the same damn thing. Edge said this at his Dynamite promo, too. Hey, Adam, don't waste time with a guy wearing butterfly britches or the son of an actor who's bangin the hottest b- in the company.
I think Adam is too easy going to get mad at anyone. I like Punk but he marches to the beat of his own drum and doesn't tolerate what he perceives as disrespect. He's an emotional and sensitive guy and there's nothing wrong with that, but it does mean he rubs some people the wrong way.

Edge is a GREAT showman. He’s robbing Tony blindly to make an extra buck (no pun intended) 😂😂😂 Tony is such a GREAT moron mark.
Exactly, as weird as it is to see "Cope" in AEW. The fact that he's going to wrestle full time at 49 with a bad neck against this roster is horrifying. he had a great last match and wish he'd retired.
For some, "The Itch" only stops with some level of paraplegia
Edge only had 32 matches from 2020-mid 2023 in his second wwe run.

After a few months of not drawing the ratings, he'll be forgotten.
Has Tony Khan never heard of TNA or Dixie Carter? He's repeating the same mistakes.
