FYI, for those interested, if you bought a G3 before they introduced the T.O.R.O. version. Taurus sells the T.O.R.O. slide separately for about $150 +/- W/ base plates for all MRD configurations. And no, I don’t work for Taurus.
Lakeline LLC does have threaded barrels and compensators for the g series also. Works wonders if you wanna make a tactical model out of any g3 you have
Taurus ain't playin!! I got the G3c last year and I was about to go back to all GLOCKs but this video has changed my mind because I didn't know they had all these models
They are onto the right track with this gun. More barrel, yes please. Shorter grip, yes please. Seems to be a gun for easy concealment but a good ammo count. Might need to get one and see how it does.
Just a heads up to anyone watching this.. if you just buy a G3c Toro out of the gate, you can then buy everything you need directly from Taurus to make it a G3xl Toro. At that point for around $550ish, you have both a G3c Toro, and G3xl Toro. They also make everything from 10rd to 17rd mags for the G3c platform so your not limited on capacity either
Galloway precision also offers a +3 baseplate extension for the 17rd mags. It uses the factory springs, but I have 1, and my buddy has 3. Zero failures from any of them yet!
My first Taurus was a 709Slim and love that gun. I’ve since bought a G2C and a G3C. Great guns. I think this series should change peoples minds on the Taurus.
This video is very timely, as I am trying to determine which to purchase. I want it because the restrike ability aids in dry-fire practice. Thanks again!
I love my G3,I’m gonna get one of the smaller versions the only thing I don’t like is the finish isn’t great it wears quick, but for the money it’s fine.it goes bang every time that’s most important.the G series guns really are awesome for the money don’t think you can beat them.
I initially vinyl wrapped my slide then removed that and just hit it with some oil. It looks 100x better. Doesn't pick up scratches so easily and appears on par with more expensive guns. This is the first video I've seen that offers this tip and it's 100% accurate. Continued good luck with your G3.
My Gosh! decades of shooting and a Avid shooter I might add and never owned a Taurus then tried out the GX4 and quickly Bought the GX4 and became a total fanboy. 1100 rds now and just runs like a sewing machine. Went out today and just picked it up and was nailing 15 yd head shots in rapid fire like the gun was born in my hand. Handles and shoot's so well. And now I will be trading my Sig 365XL for the Taurus G3XL. Man has Taurus stepped up to the plate. Thanks for the great review. Sootch! Keep em coming!
I have only heard praise on their customer service from reviewers. Others tell bout waiting up to a year and longer. Frankly I consider you the be the most credible reviewer at UA-cam and bought a number of guns as a result of your opinions. Just another by my wife 2 days ago. ( The GX 4 Toro) thanks Sootch. I kind of figured. Larger size will always shoot better but will be harder to conceal. The smaller the gun the harder it is to shoot but easier to conceal. Thanks for sharing. My personal preference is that I will not own any striker pistol that does not have a manual safety and I am not alone. Better to have and not need than to need and not have. Those that don't like them don't have to use them but at least it would be there for those that do.

I carry a millennium g2 pt140 everyday for several years now. It’s always performed well with no problems. I also have a Taurus model 66 .357mag. Love them both! Very interested in g3xl
I rubbed my G3C slide with some Break Free and completely changed how I felt about the appearance of the gun. The slide finish was always my least favorite part of the gun. Waiting for my black DLC barrel now. Great video. I really enjoy seeing Taurus get some love.

Best video on the G series. Taurus has one for everybody. I just ordered the XL. I need all the help I can get and the 4 inch slide will definitely help.
Great review, I have a need for an affordable option due to all of the activities I in my life that expose my hand guns to potential damage or loss. Carrying on horseback, motorcycles, ATV, hunting, farm work, truck gun etc. it’s really painful to drop, lose or have stolen a P226, P938, G19, vs a $300 or less gun. Taurus has now created the conundrum of using an inexpensive gun as an option that historically was not a great loss into a painful one due to its’ improved reliability & quality. I’d be pretty bummed out to have something happen to my GX4! Your review prompted that purchase. Good call!
Great vid. I have the g2c,g3,g3c, all very dependable no fails as of yet with thousands of rounds through them combined. Looking to pick up the g3xl and more than likely the g3x as well to complete the set. Keep up the great reviews. You are definitely in the top 2 for reviews. Stay Safe and God bless
I have a G3 and love it. The G3XL has me really interested. I carry my G2C every day, and I carry Hornaday Critical Defense in it because it has a shorter barrel. But I could carry a G3XL with the stronger Hornaday Critical Duty, which is more powerful (which is what I carry in my G3). I kind of like that option.
I have both the G3 & G3C. I find that I rarely carry the G3C anymore, since I'm a large man with 2XL hands. That said, it's nice to have a small gun in certain situations, like putting it in the pocket of my Adidas athletic pants. I need to get a pocket holster for my G3C.
@@davidr.5749 They are very nice guns. I wish I had bought the G3 Toro, instead of the plain G3, but hindsight is 20/20. The G3 is very comfortable in hand, and has a decent beaver tail to keep the slide from hitting large hands.

I have a G2C Millennium that I got a few years ago. Gor such an inexpensive gun, it has simply worked and works well. It is accurate, reliable and easy to conceal. What else is there to say?
The only problem that I've noticed with the G3C is that the rear sight has the same problem as some of the gen 3 or 4 (I don't remember which. It's been too long.) Glocks; the sight is slightly smaller front-to-back than it should be, so it moves from side-to-side as you shoot. That doesn't make a crap to me, since I replace sights as a matter of course. But it might be a deal breaker for others.
I own the pt709 slim 9mm which is basically the predecessor of the g2s. Then i purchased the g2c in 40 s&w and it holds 10 rounds in each mag. But i can take the 9mm barrel our of the pt709 and put. It into the g2c slide and load 9mm into the 40 mags and it will hold 12+1 and it functions flawlessly. So many options. Then the g3 and g3c came out and i waited for the g3 toro to release before i purchased it. I love the g3c toro, but id love to have the g3x with the short slide and long handle. Im probably going to buy one. And I just can't justify buying the g3c when i can shoot the g2c in 40 and 9mm. Yes the trigger is better but thats not enough for me to buy a g3c. I also have a 605 revolver in 357 mag and I have a tx22 and a pt92 beretta clone. I absolutely love my Taurus pistols...they are very all wonderful.

I haven't looked at Taurus guns in depth for quite some time. I've got an old pt111 laying around and curious if those mags are compatible with the newer G3 pistols?
More ballistic performance and less snappy recoil in a frame size that will accept my PT111 and G2C 12rd mags as well as trigger upgrades and Glock compatible sights. What's not to like?
Why do so many people refer to magazines lately as capacity plus one? …🤦🏻♂️ I would love to have this model of the G3 in the T.O.R.O. configuration. Thank you for the review!
I like the G3XL. I wish they offered it when they were selling the G3C. That said, I prefer a manual lever safety, to just a trigger safety. I also don't understand the rail concept. Why not just give it a full length rail?
I absolutely f****** hate the look of a short barrel with a long grip. It makes me want to scratch my own eyes out! 😵 That G3XL is nice, though. That's how I like it. 😊
Taurus starts putting the precision trigger from the gx4 on these Old G 3 copies i will considered buying one but until they do away with that restrike capability trigger I won't consider it because I have owned the g2c in the g3c both of them had horrible triggers thanks scooch for the update

Would like to see Taurus come out with a 40 s & w in a striker fire instead of a hammer fired.
I haven't looked at Taurus guns in depth for quite some time. I've got an old pt111 laying around and curious if those mags are compatible with the newer G3 pistols?
Almost just got scammed by someone pretending to be you and claiming I just won a Taurus G3xl. Just thought you should know !
More ballistic performance and less snappy recoil in a frame size that will accept my PT111 and G2C 12rd mags as well as trigger upgrades and Glock compatible sights. What's not to like?
Why do so many people refer to magazines lately as capacity plus one? …🤦🏻♂️
I would love to have this model of the G3 in the T.O.R.O. configuration.
The709 slim is great also.
Another great review Smootch! Thanks.
Thanks Bippie!
You shouldn't have to rack the slide to test reset if it has double strike capabilities or am i wrong ??
That’s a great pistol
Taurus starts putting the precision trigger from the gx4 on these Old G 3 copies i will considered buying one but until they do away with that restrike capability trigger I won't consider it because I have owned the g2c in the g3c both of them had horrible triggers thanks scooch for the update
Doesn't the GX4 trigger have an issue when lateral pressure is applied?
I wish it had night sights.
i believe taurus suggest you oil the slide . i have mine in a mck and the finish is already rubbing off after 100 rounds
