Reported falsely to.have had his voice dubbed for Hercules because it wasn't low enough...I believe this rare video of him singing definitely proves he had s deep voice...
I don't care If his singing wasn't all that great ,just feasting my eye's on him was enough .That man was gorgeous ,loved seeing him since Hercules's Unchained. Thanks for the video. 👀👀👀💋🖤
@Jeepman89 No. Check out "Jail Bait" and Burns and Allen clip and other youtube videos of Steverino, including one of him singing! The peplum movies were dubbed from the get go. It is confusing: you had non-Italian actors speaking their own languages, Italians speaking Italian. The whole thing had to be dubbed in Italian for the Italian market originally, then in the language of whatever country they were distributed. I think. For example, English for English-speaking world, especially U.S. The American producers bought the U.S. rights then had to dub Reeves' films in English using American voice actors, notably George Gonneau as Steve and Norman Rose (voice of Juan Valdez of coffee fame), among others, in the Herc flicks. They even re-did the opening titles (Hercules constellation thing) for the U.S. release of "Hercules". Voice acting was done in NYC. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.
I heard Steve Reeves could sing and makes me wonder if he had voice lessons in his lifetime. If so, Steve could have passed for an opera singer. Great job on finding the interview. 😊
Coincidentally on internet and one friend sen me some rare photos and footages. ua-cam.com/video/dtG2chgb4dw/v-deo.html&ab_channel=marek546 ,ua-cam.com/video/Fvh7IfiNMLk/v-deo.html&ab_channel=marek546
Reeves was not a singer... this was a curiisity, but I think hid voice was not Baritone, I think his voice was Deep Bass, the wirdest male voice; his natural voice when speaking was weird too... it wasn't low, it was naturally deep, very deep but nice, a powerful voice from a man whith a lot of testosterone. There is a video of a test in Hollywood where you hear his voice that booms and by the wsy he wad more funny that many comedians, but Hollywood did not know what to do whith him.
Nonsense, Hollywood's biggest producer contracted him to star as Samson based on a photograph, but Reeves was still competing (& winning, of course), so he wouldn't lose weight for the role. By doing it his way he was highest paid actor in Europe by time he retired, producers couldn't afford him as 007 in Dr. No. He also refused lead role in Italian remake of Japanese Western (he would later write his own), so Reeves not only became biggest box office draw, he gifted Sean Connery & Clint Eastwood their careers. After stunt injuries & stars Tyrone Power & Errol Flynn dying young (as did Gable, Cooper, Bogart, Tracy) he happily retired to married rancher life. What starring roles could Hollywood have given him, they literally hadn't seen anything like Reeves before, he did a television pilot a la Tarzan, he was too handsome for king of the jungle, he had to go to Italy to play a demi-God & an entire industry was created in his wake.
Elizabeth Butt - After reading your response, I realize that you deserve an apology. Anyone who can speak for the thousands who have seen this and claim that "nobody else" was having fun must be mentally ill. Please seek professional help. It's apparent that you have serious issues. Best of luck.

One of the best looking actors to ever grace the big screen!
Agree!!! He was more handsome than 99.9999% of Hollywood actors today. Chris Hemsworth being the closest but a very distant second to Reeves.

this made my day. he had a fine speaking voice, makes me wonder why the filmmakers did not use his own voice rather than dubbing it in.
@Jeepman89 He used his own voice in American productions, there are clips here, most stars are dubbed for foreign markets.
He made it to Broadway, don't know if he sang.

Wow! This is never before seen footage for me. I knew he had a nice deep baritone type voice but to sing? Amazing.
Thank you so much for this video, Steve Reeves my childhood hero and the Godfather of bodybuilding

I think Hollywood (stars) were afraid of him, because he looked so impresive, that he would overshadow them.
@@marek546 Yes, I think so too.
@@marek546I couldn't agree more, he was -actually, he's been - more handsome than any other screen actor.

@@unowen-nh9ov In his youth, Samson was the only good offer that Reeves received from Hollywood.
Parada :)
I thought his singing was pretty good
They would have said, don't quit your day job.
Too bad some people can't do anything but make mean comments about someone as respected and well-liked as Steve. He was obviously just having fun.
He may have been having fun but nobody else was. Should have stuck to body building and looking hot. That's what he was best at.

Apology accepted and thank you for the luck. I'll seek help from the same guy you are seeing. Maybe you could give me his number.
Sure. His name is Dr. S. Freud. Telephone number in Vienna is +43-1 31339-0.
he must've had a tin ear...he is horrible!
He has a great voice, was he even trained as a singer? Reeves did p.r. tours before & after starring in movies, he could not only speak but write.
