Nothing better than a fresh Rocks Powersports video on a Saturday morning! Congrats on the new bundle of joy hopefully you and the wife have had time to settle down and enjoy your newborn. Have a good one man
I had this 700 in the xp not the classic and I had the same problems, on its maiden voyage. it sucked so much fuel I dragged it back into the dealership after a weekend of short trail rides and fill ups at every gas station I could find. In fact, the jets were so big they were flooding the carbs, and the belly pan was totally wet with gas. I sat in with the owner of the dealership and worked with him in changing out the jets. I don't remember how many sizes we went down to lean out, but it worked like a champ, and it really became the beast. lots of fun with that twin.
Congratulations to you and your better half on your new adition!! Thoroughly enjoable video, wish we knew someway to get your subscribers up to 500k.Good luck to you all!!
Thanks for watching all the way down there. We get plenty of snow here so snowmobiles are a must if you want to have fun in the winter. Plus what other machine can you go spend $600 on and hit triple digits on the Speedo as quick as these sleds.
Rock congratulations on your second child. I’m so happy for you. I’m the first person to congratulate you. The rest of the people aren’t probably parents and me being a grandparent is awesome. Now all about the sled, nice ride I kinda like ripping the old style sleds. With having a 2015 1200 skidoo SE grand touring I cannot go back. Love the content been with you for a while. Happy new year cheers.
Thanks She’s great, but wow with a toddler running around and now a new born it’s a handful for sure! On the sleds, same here! I like running these older sleds around but you get on the trails for hours at a time and you feel it the next day! Those 1200’s are nice.
@ for sure, I don’t miss the Saturday evening ride home on the old ck3 chassis I had in the early 2000’s. 800 triple would sing if the trails were flat, which seemed to be rare!
@@rockspowersportsthe old f-2000 sleds. I just turned 40 not long ago and remember my father’s friends having those new and thinking they were so cool, that and leather snow suits. Times have changed but snow levels aren’t what they use to be and new sled prices have gotten up there. I’ll ride my ‘17 unless winters change.
This is why I like the older style snowmobile's. There is literally so many varieties. And there's nothing like hitting a 100 miles per hour. On a antique
Congratulations on your second kiddo!! Take your time and take care of the fam! Do not beat yourself up on the jets, you have a lot going on. The important take away it the knowledge you gained.
Thanks I appreciate that. I always check my jet sizes when I pull carbs but obviously this one was either driller out or completely worn out.. I’ve ordered some pin gauges so I can check the sizes from now on.
Glad you found the problem with the pilots! It sounds so good at WOT that the remaining bog might be clutching instead of jetting. Congrats on the new baby!
Congrats on the baby, word from the super duper wise. Buy a TV for the bedroom lmao! Love the videos keep it up. Especially the snow machines, there are few that do it on video like you!
@@rockspowersportsdude you’ll be memorizing all the songs and soon enough will be dropping Blues Clues or Wiggles lines into your content. Trust me, 4 boys (23-12) I know all the tunes.
Great video, knowledgeable young man. Recently traded for a 1996 Yamaha Big Bear 350. Having charging issues. Would love to see videos on troubleshooting/repairs on charging on my Yamaha Big Bear. Wish you lived closer to Oklahoma, would let you do a video it. Almost 30 years old and still running good. Thanks
I was ganna say it sounded like a super rich low end jetting an flodding it on the high end. It could be that that stator problem threw sumone off so bad that they started making the pilot hets bigger thinking it needed more fuel .you be surprised of what people do. I got a ltz400 cheap and the carb was put on upside down and they sprayed it so much with either it washed the rings and lost compression. 😂 iv seen sun weird stuff people do on the machines
Hey rock great video dude I really enjoy watching them . I have a question if you can give your best a opinion I would appreciate it. I just bought a 2023 polaris sportsman 570 base model. 1300kms. The bike wil start right up no problem. Idel great. Fan comes on every time it gets hot like normal.. but after an hour of rideing the engine light will just flash for a second and then want to shut off when you hit the gas like it lose power will re main to idel and at this there no light's on the dash. So I'll turn of the bike and 5 mins I'm good to go again it happen in low gear slow ruff rideing trail and 1 time just road rideing at high rpm the light flashed the bike seem to lose spark or something but keep running down the road. Thanks any feed back from you or anyone that sees this post thanks in advance.
That is a strange issue. Did you happen to pull the code off the dash when the check engine light came on? I had a machine do something similar after riding on hot days, what was happening was it was getting vapor locked in the fuel tank and was starving for fuel. Ended up installing a new check valve for the tank vent. Next time it shuts down on you pull the gas tank cap and listen for a gush of air. If you hear that gush, it’s vapor locking. If this is the issue as soon as you loosen the cap it should start back up.
@rockspowersports the light will flash and go quick no code it at high rmp its like a quick lost of power a second that keeps going. I will check the gas cap. Does this sound like an engine problem or electrical. It has a new fuel pump the pulg hasa nice tan color fan works it hits about 93c so not over heating it's been- 12 here for a while. It don't backfire. It fires right up. Thanks for your feedback. Does the code come up only if the light remains on. I keep the display set at tem. Do I have to scroll through to see it or do it just appear
OLD TIMER SHOWED ME THE RUBBER O RINGS ON THE BOWLS NEED TO SEAT! THEY CANT TAKE ANY AIR. OTHERWISE WOT ACTS WEIRD. TIP CARB UPSIDE DOWN AND SEE IF O RINGS SEAL CORRECTLY. SHOOT LIL SPRAY TO SEE IF AIR BUBBLES ACCURE I FOUGHT 15OOBUCKS INTO RANDOM SHIT NEW CLUTCHING NEW TIME PHASING ALL KINDS OF SHIT. BECAUSE OF 3DOLLAR O RINGS IN CARBS
Congratulations on the new baby 🎉🎉. Any old sled i had i just mixed the gas so i didnt have to worry about the oil pump. It always worried me. Can you do a video on carb syncing please?

Im in Southern NH and havnt seen that much snow all year ! Totally jealous lol, also congratulations on the new addition!!
I was actually hoping for another decent storm. We’re supposed to get a few inches here and there the next couple days. And thanks!
Awesome congratulations on the new addition ❤
Yes! Thank you!
Congrats on the new baby!!!
The rust on the stator will not impede its function unless it's rubbing and causing damage.
Pre rider forward sleds had so much room to work on the motors under the hood. Enjoy your videos, thanks
They were so much easier to work on, pop the hood and start working.. a lot harder on your back when trail riding though.

Good For Brother. awesome job
Congratulations rock and family. I have had good luck with the all balls kit on atv’s. I bet that rides like an indy trail.
Nice sled, I think Polaris definitely made their sleds better than their atvs. Grats on the new baby.
The new 450 570 are very solid 850/1000 questionable I’ve owned them

Sometimes those problems are hard to track down.
Love your videos and congratulations
Congrats brother!
Why didn't you just remove the 4 Allen Head bolts and remove the entire stator and plate ?
Honestly didn’t want those breaking as well and having more work to do..
Congratulations!, great video btw
Congratulations! Hope mama’s doing better. 🎉🍻

Nice catch
Nice job all you have to now be able to read plugs for rich or lean so happy for ya ,never stupid.
Plugs actually looked real good after that run.
Died from the kinco glove curse! This is why I hate some of these fixxer upper sleds. It's a battle.
Hard to believe two thousand and one was almost thirty years ago
Hey now.. not quite.. don’t push me to 40 yet!

My guess would be the o ring on the needle seat .or the floats are not adjusted correctly
Got more snow there than wasilla ak right now we have nothing and it’s been 45 outside 😊
Oh wow! I figured you guys in Alaska would be buried in snow compared to here.
I’ve most definitely “cleaned” a jet or two with a drill😂
Congrats
Id swap those carbs for a rack style carbs they work great
I used to have a classic 550 2002 i think it was
Them Polaris sleds are deff tricky to get running good sumtimes .
These Keihin carbs can be finicky. The mikuni’s are generally easier to tune. However any carb would run like crap with jets like I found in this one.
So with issues in the high end seems to be a partial clogged main? Would you agree or do you suspect more?
Usually issues with a stumble or bog on top end would be a main jet issue or possibly a float level issue.
That thing is a classic! 😂
Ah.. she’s not that old.
The main and pilot good
Hey rock great video dude I really enjoy watching them

This is a machine I would definitely PREMIX in the TANK
Sounds like a fuel issue, sounds like it's running rich ,
Wallboro carbs suck. Not sure about the fuel pump.
Congrats! Raise the clips on the needles one spot. Still too rich wot. She close though way better.
Nice
Hey rock! I'm fixing up the same motor but a 600 i have a few questions if you got time could message me!

That motor deserves to be in a Polaris scrambler frame. Sell rest for parts
That's a good idea, I'll have to give that some thought.
@@rockspowersports you show off skills Like that... probably charge a premium for it plus parts. Either way your views would skyrocket!
I'm not sure about that model of engine, but I know about the mono block where they have a cylinder drain bolt, usually a ten mm near the bottom
These 700’s do have crankcase drain bolts in the bottom front of the engine. I drained them out, surprisingly not a lot in there.
Congratulation Ark. waving
