- Two of the biggest producers in the world sat down to chat about their latest film at a special advance screening on the lot at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank. Sadly, because of recent positive Covid diagnosis, Cameron was unable to join the conversation in the theater. But, Disney made sure that he'd be heard so they hooked up a live video stream between his house and the theater in Burbank! Yes, he was able to see and hear in real time and his image was projected on the big screen for everyone in the theater!
Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, “Avatar: The Way of Water” begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.
Directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, the Lightstorm Entertainment Production stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and Kate Winslet. Screenplay by James Cameron & Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver. Story by James Cameron & Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver & Josh Friedman & Shane Salerno. David Valdes and Richard Baneham serve as the film’s executive producers.
The film opens in the US on Dec. 15, 2022 at 3 PM for previews and the rest of the world by 16 Dec. 2022.
