Hi Hannah, I’m so sorry you went through this. A GP once said to me that surgeons gynaecologists are incredible but they can often be so matter of fact and when it comes to fertility it is so emotional. I’ve been in that room, it is horrible. When you require more investigation and /or surgery (as I had with endometriosis) any wait time even if it is a few minutes before the doctor explains your exact situation the thoughts that go through your head are devastating. Even if you find that you’re okay and your fertility will not be impacted it does not take away from the emotions you went through. As you said it is because it means so much to you to have a family. I had one operation and was told that I required a second. I was unwell pre and post op and in hospital for nearly a week. Not a sob story my body just gave in due to the pain. However, I was given such strong painkillers I could not understand the consultant was telling me. Cue to reading my discharge notes and hat I required endometrial ablation which when you Google that my fertility fears became a nightmare. A few days later I had a check up call with the surgeon and she explained it would, it be in my womb. However, a year on it still gives me chills when I read I was having an operation that I thought would end my dream of carrying my own child. Sending best wishes to all those experiencing challenges, scares and treatment ❤

Sending love, that's some scary news, the 'matter of fact'-ness of the doctors can be the hardest, because it makes you feel almost dramatic for having feelings towards it. Your feelings are always valid, sounds like everything will be fine, but even if you struggle there are always alternative ways to have that dream family ❤

Hi Hannah, I couldn't help but feel so connected when you talked about the cysts. I have PCOS and have had several (big and painful) cysts in my ovaries, I even got them ruptured a couple of times (way more painful). HOWEVER, don't feel discouraged about it. I have a 7 month old baby and I am pregnant AGAIN (3 months in now)... it won't affect your fertility if you are getting your period (it might feel a bit more complicated to know when you are ovulating, that's about it). You have the perfect diet to fight it, just make sure you are watching sugar spikes (eating salad or drinking a glass of water with vinegar helps). Believe me (future mom of two here) it sounds like HORRIBLE news, but when you are healthy it isn't that bad!

I was told I would never have kids. After 3 surgeries I found an endo specialist who performed excision surgery for stage 4 endo. I was extremely lucky and got pregnant exactly 1 month post op. My miracle baby is now 2.5 years old. Unfortunately my endometriosis was so advanced the symptoms returned shortly after having her, as well as having adenomyosis so I had a total hysterectomy at 34 when my daughter was 1. It’s been quite the journey. Anything is possible. I wanted more kids but I’m so incredibly grateful for this beautiful child that god gave me. I pray you are blessed with a beautiful outcome. Don’t lose hope 💛

I'm also in my twenties and I've been getting them semi-regularly since 2020. 😫 That initial diagnosis is so scary, but education on the topic and a good anti-inflammatory med work wonders! Now they're just a predictable annoyance that force me to skip the odd workout lol. 🤞

Glad your ok now and got all the right info about pcos, I lived this emotional roller coaster for years but I also have some more complicated issues around my fertility ,I know loads of women with pcos have children with no mayor issues it’s the lack of info from the doctors side that can make it all sound stressful and the lack of good communication with the right empathy, my advice is if you want to have children is to gradually make it your priority before life gets more challenging.

I hope you don't feel too discouraged and I really hope that you'll still be able to raise some beautiful babies. Thanks for opening up!!

Hi Hannah, I know I'm a complete stranger, but your video resonatedwith me so much. I never had issues with my period and I was 33 when on a routine check they told me I have an ovarian cyst. The doctor quite scared me, he basically talked me through all the worst case scenarios and left me with the recommendation of going back in 2 month to talk about surgery. I was scared and devastated because our dream with my husband had been to have a healthy happy family. Strangely (or maybe it was the universe) a family friend who had severe endometriosis recommended a naturopath. She healed from her condition when all doctors and experts said she doesn't have a chance. I took her advice, went to the naturopath, did what he recommended and my cyst also disappeared with some other complaints I never really thought about much. And now we are growing our fam. So please don't be discouraged, you will have your beautiful family. My journey with the naturopath took a year but I am now completely healthy so please do not worry, it will work out and you will find all the answers and support you need. I know that everybody is different and it depends on a lot of factors but I am happy I tried a natural way instead of surgery even if it took more time. According to my naturopath an increasing number of women have this issue and several of my friends had it as well but now they are all over it, healthy and happy, with their own kids. Hugs, Reka

But we will keep trying, we still have an embrion frozen.

Hey Hannah, same thing happened to me. My (ignored because not discovered) cyst exploded and I almost died of the blood loss. After that fun experience I went on a low-dosage birth control pill (you have to find one that works for you), I take that every day, I pause twice a year for a week. This stops you from ovulating once a month - which eliminates the risk of new cycsts and endometriosis growing. My fertility is not negatively impacted - if I go off the pill it just comes back. I totally get your emotion - it feels like nature personified, criticizing you. Let go of that feeling: you are great and you will have the cutest kids :). (Even IF - IF - they should turn out to be not your biological offspring: there are so many beautiful kids already in existence that would be blessed to be yours. Nothing that happens can invalidate your womanhood or your motherhood :-* )

It’s ok to be overwhelmed and upset about getting a diagnosis. I know exactly how it feels - I have to get a scan annually now for fibroids. I’ve been through having a grapefruit sized fibroid tumor (non cancerous), surgery and I still have full fertility. It’s so good that you’ve done your research and are getting your hormones tested. You’re still so young and the fact that you can put plans and monitoring together now is the best thing you can do. Work with your doctor on a good plan for you ❤️.

Same, I have two fibroids. One the size of a peach, but they do not cause me any symptoms (I am on bcp and have been for years) and for now we just monitor them with yearly pelvic ultrasounds. Just had my yearly exam and it did actually shrink a very tiny amount. Everything else is clear, so I don't stress too much about it. There are many things you can do to optimise your fertility & career in your twenties and thirties. Most women now chose careers and education which delay having children into our thirties and fourties’. There are tests you can organise yourself that help determine your chances of pregnancy and when exactly to have children. There are brilliant lifestyle and fertility choices that make a huge difference and hugely reduce conditions that impact fertility and give you the best chance of natural conception. Remember Dr’s often only deal with retrospective treatments ! IVF clinics want you to need expensive treatments cycles costing tens of thousands and years of time when often the issue is something you could have addressed yourself! I’ve experienced this and am about to launch a business and guide as to what professional women can do to optimise their fertility. Hi!
Just wanted you to know that my mother had a cyst on her ovary in her twenties, before she had me and my sister (before she had any kids). She was unsure if she would have problems with getting pregnant but when she started trying for a baby and she ovulated, she felt that the egg came from the ovary with the cyst. And after that, she was pregnant with me! She had the same experience when having both me and my sister! So having an ovarian cyst doesn't have to effect your chances of becoming a mother!

    Hey Hannah,
This is why I think doctors can be appalling at times. I had the same thing happen, really painful periods that had changed - weirdly around the same age as you, I had a uterine polyp and ‘PCOS’. And yes those internal ultrasounds are a joy! 😂
Anyway it’s now 5 years later and I am due to give birth to my first baby (completely unplanned!). I had so much doubt because of what doctors had told me, thought I was infertile, etc etc. Definitely not! 😅
The problem is that they deliver the information and then basically arm you with nothing on how to help it. I also did a ton of research and came across an amazing book, it’s by an Aussie naturopath who specialises in women’s health, called The Period Repair manual - it covers everything. So worth a read.
Good luck and don’t worry!! Doctors have a real way with words, they can make you feel totally hopeless with no hint of a solution. I would always recommend alternative health practitioners!
You will be an amazing mumma - no doubt! ❤

Cry, Cry as much as you want and please stop saying sorry!! I have stage 4 endo, had numerous surgeries, lots of organs been taken plus a bowel resection. Now i'm in a medical menopause at age 42 and wont be able to have any children. I was like you saying sorry, trying to be strong but you know what Hannah, its hard to hear these things and its sad (even if you have had better news since, which im so happy about) its a shock and its scary and so ruddy cry, cry a river and let it all out and don't say sorry about it. You are a strong girl but please know that its also ok to not be ok as well as it took me years to figure that out. Thank you for your honest vids I could watch you make tom soup and walk Roo for days :) So please know how valued you are in this community. Lots of hugs xx

I have endometriosis, stage 4 which has spread into my bowel.
When I got my first scan it showed ovarian cysts, that’s what they investigated to discover I have endo. If they are small cysts you generally don’t need to worry, most cysts go away on their own. Endo cysts are called chocolate cysts, filled with blood etc and grow quite big.
My fertility is affected, I’m currently on the IVF waif list as I can’t fall pregnant. I’ve never been pregnant before and I’m 37 now.
I’m not saying you have endo but just for your awareness make sure they check what kind of cysts you have.
I know it’s emotional, it gets us at times but we’re strong women x

You must never ever feel you are being dramatic for displaying emotions! They are very necessary and part of being human. That must have been devastating to hear that in the scan room on your own. Sending you very much love and glad your house move is soon . Good luck with it all .

Hannah you are such a beautiful soul! I got tears in my eyes watching you tell your story…thank you! It took me 6 years to conceive my beautiful triplets who’s r now 18! I did not have cysts and was told I would never conceive! I believe mindset and acupuncture is what blessed me with the most wonderful humans! I would so recommend 100% for you to do 3 months steady with an acupuncturist! They help in so many ways other than fertility! And please visualize that beautiful family every day!!!! Much love!

Ok, I'm the italian you were looking for 😜
Actually the sause you guys call "bolognese" doesn't really exist in Italy, anywhere here you will find it named as "ragù". And YES, the traditional recipe absolutely includes tomato sauce
Anyway I'm not the food police, so "Buon appetito!" 🤗

This same thing happened to me. The cysts were so huge and I was in so much pain it would drop me to my knees. I took the herbs dong quai, pau d’arco, chaga and Reishi. Started the herbs on a Friday and by Monday they were completely gone. Drs we’re surprised. This was 3 years ago and I haven’t had them since 🤗

Hi Hannah! Have you thought about getting another doctor's opinion? I am not a doctor, but it seems quite weird to diagnose PCOS only because you have cysts. PCOS has many more symptoms; you don't even need cysts to have PCOS. I feel like with this disease, you need to look at the whole picture, not just one symptom. I have multiple women in my family who had cysts at some point in their lives, but they were never diagnosed with PCOS because they didn't have any more symptoms. By the way, all those women have 2-3 healthy children and had no problems getting pregnant. Also, you can look into inositol, which has been scientifically proven to help women with PCOS. I hope everything works out for you 🥰

I just went through losing a baby end of January 😕 it was so hard. God gave me a beautiful gift and took it away just as quick. I keep asking myself why me? Why is it fair that we have people who dont deserve kids popping out 4,5,6 kids that get taken away from them but I lost mine.

The brief thought of not being able to have children is very upsetting and you are allowed to be in your emotions! I had ovarian cysts and endometriosis and I had a very healthy boy! I was told it would be hard to conceive and after trying for only 3 months I got pregnant. Hope the move goes well and I can't wait to see the house updates. Hugs to Kenny and Rue!
