Belturbet is a town in County Cavan, Ireland. Belturbet is a picturesque town, built on the banks of the River Erne. Belturbet is surrounded by the Erne River and numerous lakes and is considered to be one of Ireland’s best fishing destinations, making it a popular choice for fishermen. Turbet Island in the center of the town consists of an Anglo-Norman motte and bailey and a short 1.6km marked, interpreted walking trail over the River Erne.
