I like your style and the way you take care of your fixed-gear bike, but I don't understand why you put lube on the seat post and the wheel nuts. These parts need to be tightened well and any liquid could cause them to loosen during the ride.

Not true. This isn’t lube. It’s special grease specifically made for keeping tight seals on clamps and bolts

Thank you! I appreciate it! I hoped it would seal it well enough to remove the wheel whenever I needed to clean my bike after heavy use in the city. I have a phobia of having NYC dirt around my legs, so it makes the threading of the bolts smoother and more accessible to release more often. But I will keep your note in mind!

every two weeks?! .. looking back, i think i clean my bike -- uh .. about once a year. (my daily commutor bike) - by by "i" i mean, i take it to the general maintenance bike shop .. and they do it.
It's more like once a month. If I bike through the rain, I get the itch to clean the bike. I do have an addictive personality, so that might be the real reason I love cleaning my bike every time I bike through the rain or see dirt on it. But I should chill out. I just really enjoy the feeling of a shiny, clean bike!
Road tires are ridiculoussly expensive these days everytime i do a skid it hirts my wallet 🙂↕️
