- General Martin E. Dempsey, Commanding General, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, sings "New York, New York" at the International Reception, 23 April 2010, at the Bay Breeze Community Center, Fort Monroe, Virginia.
I haven't seen you or Deannie in years... But, I heard someone singing, "New York" tonight as the 2022 Ball fell at midnight & wanted to hear you sing it again! Miss you both!
I have never met a guy with more class and more grace than General Dempsey
What a great man. We are so honored.
Absolutely fabulous. You are a "STAR"!
He will be successful in all his endeavors. And, I would buy his CD/DVDs.
I went to high school with this man. He was and is 4 years older than I and was senior when I was a freshman at John S. Burke Catholic High School in Goshen, NY. His wife Deanie also went to Burke -remember her also. Her younger sister was in my grade.......weird to see someone from HS be so famous!!
Wow that was great who knew our General could sing like that, Great job sir!
Gawd I love this man
Finally met him in person today at the AirForce vs Army game. What a great leader and a man. ( Air Force won 24-145 btw) ;)
The coolest general in the U.S. Army. I remember him singing at the 1st Armored Division's Christmas Formals in Germany. Great voice.
Wow great voice General Dempsey
Congratulation sings very nice!
if one could solve wars with music we would have peace on earth!
I recorded a unit song that he wrote the lyrics for when he was a young staff officer, The Bandit Song. What a great guy.
You're awesome! Hope your make chairman of the joint chiefs of staff! :D
Way to go General - congratulations on becoming CJCS - any guy who can stand up and deliver a classy Sinatra cover like that is ok in my book.
Love it!!! General Dempsey, I'm a very huge Frank Sinatra fan! Frank would be so touched with your singing! Very beautiful job!!!
Wow!! Is he a cheezy Bible thumper? I would LOVE to hear that - more power to him. Great voice - and his wife looks JUST like she did in high school!!!
He is actually a REALLY good singer! So glad he is COAS :)
he has a good stage presence doesnt he? he must be great at parties..
After listening to him sing, I'd follow him into battle. Anybody who can do Frank justice is worthy!
this was shown on the Early Show yesterday
congratulations
He has to be the coolest cno great singer.
He should develop his own lounge act: Martin Dempsey on Tuesdays at The Carlyle
He has a nice Voice
Que amável! amei
I love how all our generals seem to come from Central Casting.
Great singing voice for an US C in C!
Really not bad. What a wasted talent. During my college time I worked as a waitress at the International Congress Center (ICC) in Berlin and we had the "Winter Formal Ball" of the Army. Those guys were a little bit stiff, but this buddy rocks.
👏
@pianoplayer1698 I agree..he isn't bad! Hey, ya gotta like a guy who's willing to get up there and belt out a tune!!!!!:-)
This is great! Our military is too serious.
....General....poderia gravar um CD....Frank Sinatra vai ficar com ciúmes...
Não sabia que cantava..............tão bem !!!....kisss
Maybe this Soldier should join him for some entertainment sometime, search "ch cpt" and watch him do Elvis and Louie Armstrong for the other Soldiers at an MWR in Bagdad last summer.
I love to listen to :ELIZABETH
''He was and is 4 years older than I'' Lol I think thats a given,Just kidding.
Very impressive voice, especially for his role. But he needs to hold a glass of scotch and a lit cigarette while singing this though. Frank would be proud!
blackberrypatch
That is unnecessary, would be stupid
He's no Liza. Thank goodness.
