Great review. Honestly, Monogatari was super confusing for me on a first watch too. Biggest draws for me though were just getting the answer to my confusion and the fact that Araragi was a friggin vampire and I love vampire stories
It is a series, much more appreciated once you reach the end. Many viewers of Bakemonogatari make the mistake of just watching the first season, and viewing the series from that lens. It's sort of like a puzzle you solve, slowly building new pieces until you get that final key piece that brings the whole picture together, and you finally realize the point of it all. It can be a very rewarding experience if you let it take you for the ride, and allow yourself to analyze it critically. Everything in the series, (with varying degrees of importance) serves a purpose. So If you ever spot a weird piece of dialogue, or the characters appear to meander about a seemingly off topic subject, just know there's a point to it that might not be realized immediately. You may find yourself lost in all the dialogue and fanservice at times, asking yourself, 'why?' But I can assure you, if you stick with it, eventually you'll reach that moment where it all just clicks, and that's when you fall in love. I have never met a soul on earth who's actually finished the series and came out of it unsatisfied, and with the recent news of more seasons to come around the corner, I hope you can find the same connection with the story as I and many others have.
IMO, its sounds like you dived too deep. Things like Araragi asking the snail about the color of her underwear doesn't really mean much. A lot of the stuff is just random without depth, and is just enjoyable dialog. If one likes fun conversations the show can be quite enjoyable. Throw in that season 2+ has Kaki.
@@simplysolus8916 uhmm, no. I mean I said in my original comment that some scenes serve less importance then others, like the hachikuji gag scenes. But even those serve to show Araragi’s character. Besides having pedophilic tendencies, it’s important to show his childish side, which is exemplified when he’s with Hachikuji. Each character he talks to, he has a different rapport with. Things he would say to kanbaru, the sexual jokes he would make, he would never make with hanekawa or Hachikuji for that matter. At the center of it, Araragi is an emotionally stinted man child, so it would make sense that the person he acts like a child with the most, is the one who literally takes the form of one. Notice how they never inherently sexualize the scenes with Hachikuji, as apposed to Hanekawa. It’s because in Araragi’s mind, he doesn’t look at hachikuji in that manner, but Hanekawa on the other hand is the embodiment of sexual appeal to him. It’s called media literacy. If you’re struggling to see it here, then I worry you may just not know how to read between the lines in any show.
@@someguy535 I don't have trouble noticing things, but with the Monogatari series there are a lot of fans who dive too deep and praise it for being a deconstruction, looking into things so deeply that they fail to notice the surface.

I assure you, Lunar, that I will return to this video, after I finish the Monogatari series. But since we talked about the Monogatari series, this is a chance to recommend to you one of the best anime in my opinion, which is from the same author as Monogatari, ' Juuni Taisen '. This anime is simply the best Survival and Battle Royale anime for me, after Fate Zero. I also consider it one of My Top 30 anime I have ever seen in my life. And don't let its low ratings on IMDB or MAL fool you. The anime is much better than these ratings, I personally rated it 9/10.
Thanks for the videos I’m missed it. I know your video idea list is very long but if you want you can review Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts I read manga 1-3 and the last 15 (I couldn‘t buy all mangas because of my budget) and I watched the anime its a great love story between a human and a demon king (literally demon king not a human that’s called demon) and most of the characters are animals called demons. Just our protagonist is a cute little girl with light blue hair. I rate this anime 9/10 I like it very much. And also the second opening is great. It would be really nice of if you could review it, it would be a win win situation I would have a very good video to watch under you would make money ( I hope so because copyrighte). Its your decision and thanks for the fate videos you catched me fate fan with this videos and I rewatched up to 20 times. Ok now bye thx for videos.
as a Monogatari fan, I didn't truly loved the series, until the 2nd season. almost all of my enjoyment of Bakemongatari came from the future season of Monogatari.
Monogatari is definitely the type of series that has a Stockholm syndrome effect on people. It’s really hard to start and get into, but the more you watch of it, the harder it is to stop watching. It took me 3 tries to get into it. I couldn’t get past the first 3 episodes the first 2 times because I just wasn’t in the mood for all that talking, but I binged up to what was out at the time the 3rd time I tried, which I believe was while Koyomimonogatari was still airing. I watched almost the entirety of Monogatari Series 2nd season in a single day. My brain was exhausted. I’ve seen the whole thing about 6 or 7 times now.
@@nameless8789 not Stockholm syndrome for me, just that most of the payoff I expected to get in Bakamongatari came in later arcs. for example the revealed I expected to get in nadeko 1st arc, came in her 2nd arc.

7:25 Fun fact, the highest the cat fell from and survived (on record) is around 120m. It was in New York and my dude just sprained a leg and chipped a tooth. The funny part: Cans have a higher chance of survival by hitting terminal velocity. This is because of the way they land when they do. So, the cat would still splatter if it dropped from around 300m (Eiffel tower) but at least now you know a fun new fact! Also, cats in zero G is one of the best videos on youtube...
I personally only watched enough to understand h-doujins of it. It just fels like most of the humor was lost in translation, because you can't traslate humor based on hieroglyphs into anime form, and then into completely different language. It's too complex for that, now simple jokes based on something universal like poop are much easier for adaptation.
Lucky for me I watched the prequel movies first (by chance) so I understood everything that was happening. When I got into the series I could only imagine how confused people must have been.
And then there's the realization that the second Nadeko OP (Mousou Express) is basically the first Nadeko OP (Re'nai Circulation) with every thing in reverse. And, of course, that the OP's for almost all of the story arcs are sung by the voice actors for the main female star of that story. And, well, you know, you could go on for hours!
Each character or arc is basically someone trying to overcome trauma. Instead of a normal story that has story with dialogue moments, its mostly dialogue with some story.
I give it a solid 9.5. Only thing that's stopping me from 10 is the problematic scenes (which I understand is just how Japan's culture is. Heck their age of consent was 13 until only a year ago). But it is a hard watch for someone new to anime. I've been watching animes since Evangelion came out and this show makes tons of references to Japanese society, culture, humor and anime shows past and present. The source material (light novel) by extension is also a stellar read, the characters are complex, flawed, full of ironies and yet each have their own journey of self-realization. There's no true bad guy in the story even. The narrative is not always as it seems, and each revelation seems to invoke feelings to whoever is reading/watching it. Truly a gem and a future classic. Probably the only show I know of that everytime I search for "this episode analysis" something inevitably comes up whether from Reddit or somewhere else.
The 13 age of consent thing was only the lowest it could go, every single prefecture set it higher as far as i know. It was a great move to raise it but it didn't actually change anything. Overall this whole idea is just thinly veiled xenophobia because "hurr durr Japan is the p*do country" that was spread around, ignoring all the context around it

And this is probably one of the best rewatching experiences for me because I changed my opinion for better multiple types even at 3rd and 4rd rewatches.
Hitting pause for the vards during the show mostly does not worth it. That didn't stop me from reading everything. The show is a great thirst trap and if you keep watching it becomes intriguing. My invested enjoyment was shattered by the ending which went nowhere.
"This is the start of reviewing all of the Monogatari series, so if you need something for your second monitor use me I beg I need money" Commitment? Have you see the whole thing already or are you watching through first time? Also just fyi since the actual details are more or less right in the video, you got the Hachikuji part wrong. Her parents were already divorced she just lived with her dad and she felt like she was forgetting her mother since she didn't see her much anymore thus why she went to try and visit her on Mother's Day.
I realy liked the style of the whole anime, it felt fresh compared to the other shows getting released even now, but i couldn't stand half of the characters in this show which made me drop this show after 2nd season. Every time there was someone else then Araragi, Senjougahara, Hachikuji (except the scenes of her being groped, why would someone think that was funny?) or Oshino on screen i would just get either bored or annoyed, i forced myself through those interactions hoping for characters that i liked to come back on screen.
6:13 fun fact. The child wasnt fine. He proceeded to be affected terribly by that returned cursed, and proceeds to kill the original seller of the snake curse(the seller’s name was kaiki deishu, who became one of the main cast of the series).
I currently at monogatari series 2nd season. After watching 2 episodes i gave my brain a rest, because my brain was literally frying with information

Ya know. I almost respected this review. But then you said you watched Ore Imo twice. Once is weird, twice means you might need therapy.
Bro tried to sneak in Oremonogatari
Hitting pause for the vards during the show mostly does not worth it. That didn't stop me from reading everything. The show is a great thirst trap and if you keep watching it becomes intriguing. My invested enjoyment was shattered by the ending which went nowhere.

"This is the start of reviewing all of the Monogatari series, so if you need something for your second monitor use me I beg I need money"
Commitment?
Have you see the whole thing already or are you watching through first time? Also just fyi since the actual details are more or less right in the video, you got the Hachikuji part wrong. Her parents were already divorced she just lived with her dad and she felt like she was forgetting her mother since she didn't see her much anymore thus why she went to try and visit her on Mother's Day.
The most unnecessary fancervice scenes in most animes are the most necessary fancervice scenes in monogatari
Peak anime peak LN
when do we get nise und kizu?
This series is insane and I absolutely love it. LOL
10/10 would grope the hachikuji
why do you have to be like this
@@herbertwalter8693 I didn't chose the araragi life, the arararararagi life chose me
I realy liked the style of the whole anime, it felt fresh compared to the other shows getting released even now, but i couldn't stand half of the characters in this show which made me drop this show after 2nd season. Every time there was someone else then Araragi, Senjougahara, Hachikuji (except the scenes of her being groped, why would someone think that was funny?) or Oshino on screen i would just get either bored or annoyed, i forced myself through those interactions hoping for characters that i liked to come back on screen.
The worst she can say is no
6:13 fun fact. The child wasnt fine. He proceeded to be affected terribly by that returned cursed, and proceeds to kill the original seller of the snake curse(the seller’s name was kaiki deishu, who became one of the main cast of the series).
