    Great video! Just a note for future reference.. when you first puncture your r134 can pop the small cap between your high and low side valves on your gauges. That is a shrader valve and it’s purpose is to purge the air out of your line between your r134 can and your ac system. Skipping this step will force all that air that Is stuck in your line strait into your system you just spent 45min vacuuming! Great video tho. Going to tackle this myself on my 93 this weekend.

    Nice Video ... came late to the party here ... just replaced compressor, lines and evaporator on my 2000 Cherokee ( 258k) ... ran fine for awhile but developed a small leak in condenser ... so just ordered a Spectra on Amazon ... I have a big Bouvier des Flandres (dog) and both he and the Jeep are black ... so need AC if he's going to run errands with me ... been driving Cherokees for 30 years now ... my 89 went 300K ... I've rebuilt this one from the ground up a few times (no engine or tranny problems, regular fliuid changes always, little rust)

      @@41GarageandGrill ... 300 K on my 1989 ... never had it towed ... then bought the black 2000 XJ Sport, just retired as a builder sold my F150 and classic 1980 Fiat Spider, never had the 2000 towed either, always able to get it home ... considered a new Wrangler, but decided to just keep rebuilding the 2000 and I like not having a car payment .... it looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor ... the 4.0 L is hard to beat if you take care of them ... new spectra comes tomorrow ... the old condenser leak is small pin hole, but looses r134 over 3-4 weeks ... I did the radiator last year, so know the tear down up front ...

    Did you add PAG oil when you installed the new condenser? I replaced the condenser in my 03 TJ about 6 years ago and didn't realize I was supposed to add this oil. Flash forward to this afternoon, an AC tech just told me my condenser is bad again. I'm assuming my not adding the oil is the cause. Thanks for posting BTW.

    • @41GarageandGrill
      @41GarageandGrill  3 роки тому

      If I am looking at the same lines you are talking about, on mine those are hard lines attached to the evaporator and can not be replaced. It would require replacing the entire evaporator. Let me know if yours is different.
