- An explanation of the Digital Markets Act and how it will bring fairer conditions to consumers and businesses for digital services across the EU.

Hopefully I'll be able to sideload emulators soon.
What a great Act!
I have avoided iphone for a long time despite their great hardware. Now I can finally consider getting one because of this! Thank you EU
Ah looks like Apple's business practices were hurting them more than helping them 🤣🤣
Why? What will it change for you. I’d wait see what apple do first
Europe have to keep working on regulations concerning "the digital life"! There is still so much to do to ensure fairness, security and human rights in every aspect of the digital era. Europe could be a pioneer and a precursor by anticpating "what's next", showing the path to the rest of the world! 💫
This is much needed. The argument that a single AppStore provides security is false in its entirety since MacOS allows sideloading. Isn’t macOS safe? Also, many say that Google/Amazon etc will withdraw their apps and offer their own app stores. Again, this isn’t the case in android where all apps are available on the play store.
Walled gardens are anticompetitive so people should get over their Stockholm syndrome, Apples only interested in keeping their 30% intact.
I support 100% this act, waiting day when i really can own iPhone what i paid for. It should be al least optional and for example using Apple account to unlock sideloading permanently even if it means losing warranty, drm keys or whatever that i am willing to sacrifice.
Does the Digital Markets Act include the messaging interoperability rules?
@@sdfjsdyes think-so
Stupid laws. Unlike Google and Microsoft, Apple isn't a monopoly in any of their markets. You're free to use any browser or message app you want. Why should Apple go out of their way to help their competitors who produce shoddy products?
I'm genuinely happy!
Does the Digital Markets Act include the messaging interoperability rules?
@@sdfjsd that would be quite tricky to implement and doesn't make much sense but not my problem
@@simoc.1225 I think the EU is talking about making messaging interoperability a law, but I'm not sure if that is going to be included in the Digital Markets Act.
based.
Does the Digital Markets Act include the messaging interoperability rules?
Yes, see Art. 7 DMA.
Seriously, you don't know how the economy works. This will only produce decay and less opportunities, not what you call "fair" market and innovation. How and why is someone supposed to innovate, when you regulate. Don't you see, it's literally the opposite side of innovation?😏
Common EU W 🇪🇺🫡
God i love democracy
The only thing the EU leads on is more regulations 😂 maybe the reason all the trch companies are not from Europe is exactly because of the insane level of government regulations.
Apple on borrowed time 😂 .
obviously they don't know what security means in our device. Apple for ever!!!!
Because security is so terrible on macOS, right?
Let the market decide where they want to get their apps from, not Apple.
@@DanTheMan827 If you want to get apps from random sources, simply don't use Apple devices. Why come into someone's home and make demands?
@@africa_explained_tv Exactly! Since Apple sell their products on the EU market, who would they be to come to someone’s home and make demands? If you sell your product on our market, you WILL comply to our rules. If you don’t want to comply, “simply don’t use our market”. :)
Mouth breathing comment.
@@africa_explained_tv don't worry... if this act passes, apple users aren't forced to not use the AppStore. They will have a free choise (keep using the "secure" appstore or leave the cage as a free bird on their own will)
