- You'll never believe what I got for $13 on this week's thrift haul! Spend the day with me making a classic breakfast, doing some household tidying after staying up late with the kids, and finding places in my home for all of my new (to me), thrifted treasures.

30-Minute One Pot Wonder - Cheesy Chicken Bowtie Pasta with Sundried Tomatoes
6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
2 T butter or olive oil
1 T poultry seasoning
10 oz. dry bowtie pasta
6 cups chicken stock or broth
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups shredded cheese (I use Provel but white cheddar or an Italian mix would work well too)
1/4 cup sundried tomatoes
1/2 t salt
1.4 t black pepper
(optional) 1/4 t red pepper flakes
Trim and dice the chicken thighs into 1" pieces. Heat 2T oil or butter in a large skillet. Add the chicken to the hot oil, sprinkle with poultry seasoning, and saute for 5 minutes in the hot oil until the chicken is golden brown on the outsides. Pour in the 6 cups of broth and scrape the bottom of the skillet to deglaze. Once the broth is boiling, add the dry pasta. Reduce to medium heat and cover with a lid for 10-15 minutes until pasta is al dente. Remove the lid, add the heavy cream, cheese, sundried tomatoes, salt and pepper, and stir. Cover with the lid and remove from heat. Wait 5 minutes, remove the lid and stir. Serve hot.

I am a stay at home mom...that's my job and also homeschooled my children from Kindergarten on. My husband worked outside the home. I do not believe in my husband doing my job and I would not go to his employment and do his job. Now if I worked in the home and was employed outside the home I would say 50/50 because we would both have 2 jobs . I am 58 and still believe that was how it was meant to be but, I do not judge others for different living and do not expect to be judged for the way I believe it should be. I had to laugh you sounded like me about making the bed in the morning and doing all the dishes before bed. I do my dishes right after our meals. I like to wake up to a clean kitchen. I always tell my husband my job is done when my dishes are done for the night. 😊

Dads can help when they get home. Unless it’s bedtime - as they worked long hours.
My day lasts 16hrs with babies, I’m woken up at night too. With toddlers n up, I work 14hrs (they sleep better). Everyday, no TO for holidays or vacations; let’s not talk about sick days 😵💫
I also educate them myself & cook every meal. Teachers don’t bring their babies to class with them, yet I’m doing this also.
Dad can parent too once he’s home. Do dishes, do a Bible study, change diaper, give a bath, take the bigger kids for a bike ride, scrub a toilet, go over math concept with Adam, give me 30 min once babys asleep to just stare at the wall ALONE…😮
Would you ever consider doing a kitchen and/pr living room tour? You have mentioned that you built your house and it would be great to hear your thoughts and see all of your ideas that you implemented when building!

I love your chn. Please post as you want to post. I live in MA. I just turned 60. My husband and I have been married 36 years and we have two adult children. In this modern world… yes people want it to be 50/50. After 36 years of marriage we have found that the responsibility’s we have split over the years. He gets so upset if he sees me handling one of his tools. His job now of setting the table at night,,,, gives me more stress than it’s worth. I totally understand what ur are saying. Today I made your Dutch baby recipe. It was so easy and delicious!!!

😂 i much prefer to "stay in my lane" and my husband stay in his. 🤪 Unpopular opinion, but, he CAN wash dishes, but not as well as i can, i CAN mud drywall but not as well as he can. I try to save the power tool things for him ... Although, i absolutely LOVE laying the laminate flooring.... Love love love it.
Exactly!! It really is about skill level, we each have things we are really good and efficient at, why mess with it?! Glad we aren’t alone 🤣
I agree and respect that you and your husband have your sacred spaces and processes. My husband and I both farm. He farms row crops & hay. I grow produce to sell. We both pitch in to raise & maintain livestock. He prefers to maintain the farm paperwork because he has a system. I homeschool and maintain the home. We both assist each other in the event it is needed. I stay out of his processes and he mine. We both don’t preach to each other how to do our jobs. It’s too easy to fall into a trap of my work is harder than yours. The anxiety and resentment is not worth it.

Ever since I can remember,even as a very young girl,I also have to have my bed made😊. I also have to have my kitchen clean before bed,lol… I am 52 and I actually remember when My boys were young almost being late for work a couple of times becuz I enjoyed coming home to a tidy home… I have no shame when it comes to those two life long habits 🙏

Yes to the laundry bit! I am so glad I’m not the only one that feels or thinks that way. I just don’t like the way others do it. I have a system and cleaning is therapeutic for me. 😅

I use my husband's power tools sparingly and when he's not around for the same reasons! 😂 We both help each other when needed, but feel guilty when the other one crosses into the other's jobs. He doesn't like when I have to lift or do his yard work. I almost cried when he helped with Thanksgiving dishes(we hosted 10 members of his family). He hasnt washed a dish in many years.

A suggestion to train kids and implement a routine
Keeps chaos from ensuing and mom has to remember nothing!
Morning list
Afternoon list (once academics done before can go play, like put away school bks, or projects, do 1 chore)
Evening list (before bed)
Meal chart (every task is delegated even if u have to stand with them)
These take effort n time to make but save SOMUCHTIME in just a short while.
I rotated if possible. Toddler & preschool chores stay with the kid till he can do bigger kid chores. A toddler & preschooler can separate silverware into the drawer tray…u have to train them to perseverance once they get the concept but if u require it anyway it’s not hard (doing the whole job even when u don’t want to or something more exciting pops up)
Sample morning list
Age 5 or so
Go potty (put pullup in garbage)
[If wet, strip and bathe/shower.
Strip bed, take to washer for someone to rinse in washer
Take wipes and wipe down plastic mattress cover]
Wash hands]
Tidy room
Meal Chart chore
Eat breakfast
Meal Chart chore
If not wet, get dressed after brush teeth
Brush hair
Morning chore (1 per morning)
Start day playing, doing skill work (hobby), or academics
If u have farm animals adjust accordingly
If dads there, maybe they go out with him after morning chore
Once you have made these, and adapted once u use them (real life kicks in lol) then u have instant easy routine the kids know even w/o reading or bigger kids can help them with
I put them in clear page protectors to use wipe off markers on or grease pencils

I am exactly the same. I have to make the bed everyday. Even if on and off day it’s not made before I get back into bed, I make the bed before I get into it lol. 😅Nothing like a made bed!

I’m crazy clean if I go to bed with a cup in the sink I won’t sleep until it is washed I’ll get out of bed and wash it. I raised both my children alone and they are both amazing. One is 40 and my girl is 21. I change my bed on Fridays too, and …….because of YOU ……….I finally made my first sourdough loaf of bread yayyyyy. It was sooooooo delicious. I had killed my starter - started a new one -and was feeding it for 6 months using the discard to make pancakes , and other things . 🤗🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I very much appreciate you sharing bits of your wisdom and experience especially when it comes to life as a homemaker. As a sister in Christ I do want to caution you though when it comes to grounding. It is a technique that has roots and is used very widely in witchcraft. I know that it has its “benefits” but there is always an unseen tradeoff. Of course as with anything I urge you to take this to the lord in prayer but I wouldn’t be acting in love if I kept this knowledge from you ❤
I love your quilts are they passed down to you from family or did you buy them?. Old quilts in the UK are very expensive 100s of pounds upwards. I'm very jealous of yours. And I agree about making the bed. Love your videos.

I do! They get the same stuff I do but they do capsules, I just do the powder since it's cheaper. So the kids take Beef Liver, Mushroom blend, and magnesium daily.
Would love your experience with cloth diapering! I cloth diaper now but am running into some challenges as my little one gets older! I have another one on the way, so 2 in cloth diapers at once 🤣
Cloth diapers are better for the earth and not hard to use….

(high-vitamin butter oil, which is sold by Green Pastures, the maker of a high quality cod liver oil, is also a nonnegotiable in my opinion; this is not ghee, it’s centrifuged very high quality butter & the vitamin its high in is vitamin K, which is very needed when taking CLO- the vitamin D increases your absorption of calcium, the vitamin K takes this calcium and puts it in your bones and in your teeth vs on your teeth and lining your arteries and making bone spurs. Unless u eat summer-grass-pastured cream made into butter, ur not getting the K in sufficient amts; the K is plants is wrong form)

I’m not sure about earthing mats. I have an earthing sheet and a pillow case and the earthing shoes but I can’t say I feel a big difference and I’ve had these items for 2 years.
I honestly didn't expect much and I can't say for sure if my carpal tunnel has gone away because of them, but I figure they definitely can't hurt anything!
