Excellent analysis Shiv, very heartening! A couple of points that you may have missed or not. Chinese Navy is primarily a littoral navy meant to operate in south china sea, it is not a blue water navy capable of generating an expeditionary force. This applies especially to surface ships that can sustain very severe damage from AShM. For example. As soon as the Russians claimed that they were helping the houthis with AShM even the very capable US Navy ran from the red sea. A 5 million missile sinking a 100 million worth ship is a bad exchange. Submarines on the other hand can operate without that much risk. That is where our efforts in Missile assisted torpedo systems is very relevant. I am sure that work is progressing rapidly as well, just as Air defence systems for an aerial threat.
We need higher R&D budget, higher defence budget .. But more importantly, what is required is stop Islamic influence.. Soviet Union broke from within.. and so did India in 1947 ..

Having all fighters and no guns or missiles on borders is foolish. Having a continuous manufacturing and supply of guns and missiles is better than having few more squadrons at exorbitant cost.
