Great review. Can't wait to play it. Also, listened to the video with headphones on; and when I first heard Oliver, I checked behind my chair. Scared me to death.
I bought this and expansion. Still waiting for it. Will try to play with my wife and bots so it might be a bit heavy for her. At worst, I get one play out of it.
I’m curious what you think the playtime would be with four players? Just noticed how old this review is...well maybe I’ll get lucky and someone will spot this
Because there's little you can do outside of your turn except inspect your cards and prepare the game length will probably be an extra hour, I would imagine. I'll let you know more when the expansion comes out and we can get more players to the table.
Guys, in your opinion, can this game be played solitaire with any enjoyment or does the deck building make that too difficult to do? To predictable I guess I’m saying.

He is a sneaky little dude. Thanks for watching.
Thanks.
Definitely looking forward to this one, fan of hybrid games say Empires of the Ancient World (perhaps one of the first deck builders?).
great shot of games in the background!
Good job. you are very good. I'm French and I understand almost everything !
Like the new intro and logo.
"This is as much of a hybrid of a wargame and a eurogame that you can have!"
COIN games: "Am I a joke to you?"

Love your new channel emblem. Did you have any trouble with your board splitting when folding it back up?
Can't say we had that issue no. Not sure I've every had that with a GMT, drop them a line, their customer service is top notch.
I already did and received my replacement board :)
would like to see the game shelf. What is there? Alexander's head was in the way.lol

Just played my 2nd game. For the other 3 non-wargamer players it was the first game. It took us, I think 2,5h until one scored 40points.

I've played it solo just to learn the rules. It's much better with 2 or more players.
So it's essentially a card driven area control game?
It's a deck builder vs a traditional CDG, and the area control is a bit more involoved but you could loosely label it that way.
@@ThePlayersAid My brain thought "deck builder" but my fingers tapped "CDG". :)
Have you played the expansion?
Yes, worth it for the variety of new cards alone. We actually did a short review of it!
@@ThePlayersAid I just found your review of the expansion. Good stuff! I'm on the fence about this game so your videos are helpful.
@@MikeStoddart For sure this game needs a group, three players plus expansion bot, or four human players.
Child walks in, pushes games, OCD ensues
My life in a sentence.
The game ends only if a player has 40 points or more AND is the emporer.
Yes! We are morons! Hahaha, still, a great game nonetheless!
