6 is actually okay although more arcade like and simplistic. 7 is more immersive than 8 but 8 does vagrant/officer mode the best imo. But still, 5 is probably the best overall. People give 8 a bad rap but it has the most content overall. The town free roam is pointless and small in 7 and I do not understand why anyone even cares about it being there. If you want free roam, play 9 🤷 it's the best at that, love it or hate it. Frankly, dicking around in 9 empires is fun to me. But it's not a good empires title and probably worse than the base game.
I sunk countless hours into this game on ps2, even during the ps3 era. The way it was designed it felt like a perfect strategy game, it just happened to be a DW game too.
Another great video my dude! Absolutely love this game. While I feel like the improvements of DW5 over DW4 are a bit lateral (I actually prefer DW4's Musou mode much more), DW5 Empires is a dramatic improvement on DW4 Empires. It's an exceptional experience. The Empire mode is really fun and it has that addictive "I need to play one more turn" quality lol. I really love the weapon attribute system too, it's a lot of fun improving your weapons and it also gives you a reason to go play Free mode as the upgrades to your stuff carries into Empire mode. I also like that any of the items you've gotten in Empire mode can be used in Free mode as well. I actually own both versions of this game because I love it so much lol. Looking forward to your future videos my dude.
Most of the armor was really nice in 5E. I wish they'd innovate a bit with the newer games, but it's definitely nice to have the old ones stick around as well
I actually managed to get all the event battles in the 184 start it was really difficult and had to make generous use of exploits and such but it was really satisfying. I wouldn’t mind a more story’d approach to the empires series. I guess most people will say just play the base game but I think being able to follow the story somewhat is fun too in Empires
Glad to see one of my top 3 and favorite Empires title. Love this game so much I still play it to this day on X360. Wish for backwards compatibility to play in on my XSX.

Think the views are low bc of the relative lack of followers of games like this. Started replaying some old PS2 games through an emulaTor lately, this being one of them! Love it.
the empires franchise has always felt like the reeces peanut butter cup of Womega Force's games. It feels like a middle ground between the Romance of the three kingdom games, and the Dynasty warriors games.

You deserve a lot more subs than you have right now, I assume you're doing Samurai Warriors 2 before getting to Warriors Orochi right?

I've still yet to have anyone explain how this game works. I've played it for so long and I still don't know how the game's mechanics work. It just seems like my army loses no matter what. I can have them all in a base and one officer attacks and they all struggle. I don't get it. Morale, troop count, level, position, etc. Not of it seems to matter. I've read the manual, I've looked up tons of guides. No one can tell me, hey this is how the bases work, this is when you should send officers to attack, and this is when you should make them defend. So, I always end up doing everything.
I wish I could play Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires, but it's not retrocompatible on Xbox One/Series. :( Maybe I should settle for the PS2 version, but no camera movement kills me man. I'm playing DW9E and as my first Empires game in the series, I'm very much enjoying it!
@@someguy1865 I personally like it, but I have no frame of reference since it's my first Empires. It has the same combat of DW9, so if you didn't like that, it hasn't changed. That being said, your character is much faster now than it was in DQ9, which makes battles flow better, as you go from camp to camp with relative ease. Honestly, I wish they would patch the new speed in DW9 base game, as traversing the open world would be much more enjoyable and the pacing would significantly improve. Also, you can completely ignore the open world now if you like, as it's just an extra now. The battles take place in closed off stages, like previous entries. I personally like the sieges focus, but admitedly it can get repetitive, as every battle is either you attacking or defending in a siege battle.
Yeah unfortunately I doubt we're ever gonna get backwards combat for the game :(. I'm not sure if the PS2 version lacks the right analog movement or not. I can check later, but most of KOEIs post DW5XL games had analog movement iirc. Haven't gotten around to DW9E yet myself!

I really hate how DW5 looks. Everything about it just looks so outdated, even though the combat is one of the best out of all the DW games. Wish we had remakes of DW4 and DW5 with new graphics design and interfaces.

My 3rd most played dynasty warriors game. After 3 and 4. I LOVED it. Creating a character will always be awesome.

Kind of badass the ogre armor is in 5 empires games including 9. Very nostalgic being able to use the same armor that long.

Is DW9E really good? I played the demo but it felt very different from what I'm used to coming from DW8E.
