I started making these at home about 5 years ago. I use Italian feather bread dough. Divide x 3. These will be LARGE. After baking and cooling I cut them in half, wrap in parchment, bag and toss in the freezer. Straight out of the freezer into the toaster oven on a piece of non stick foil for 20-25 @ 350. Instead of the egg wash I baste on more Caesar dressing then the cheese. I also started making other versions. Homemade hot pockets? Toss cooked chicken and artichokes with Greek dressing and add feta to the cheese mix. I use Munster, Provolone, Havarti , whatever I have. Add in some olives and green onions. Another version is chicken, ham and swiss with broccoli and creamy Italian dressing. Possibilities are endless. One of these days I'm gonna try meatballs and sauce.
Thank your for taking the time to share these ideas. They all sound delicious. My Son makes bread this is perfect because he loves hot pockets. These will be on steroids of flavor.
Don’t forget to cook it before you add it. I don’t know how many times I’ve had a soggy Stromboli because a restaurant filled it with uncooked veg. Spinach sounds like a great addition to this!
@@GorgoScrobothat’s a great tip. People forget that vegetables will release a lot of their moisture and should be cooked separately first and then added in!
Made these yesterday and it came out great! Took a shortcut - used Costco rotisserie chicken, just warmed it up a bit with some spices and herbs in a pan. My boys loved it more than the original! :))
I am definitely giving this a try! You could do so many different things with the fillings. I also think it would do well camping. Make ahead, wrap in foil, heat over the fire.
This video reminds me of why I never put anything in the oven without a timer. I know I will forget otherwise! That said, this is definitely a copycat recipe worth trying. Thanks for sharing it with us!
I would add bell pepper red onion Colby jack with chipotle ranch dressing, I use store bought dough pillsbury or Rhodes frozen bread dough roll it out , I have made a pizza version also.
My local, favorite pizza place will sell me just a ball of dough lol it’s $6 but well worth the small expense when I want a “homemade” dough flavor without actually doing it. Although when I have time I actually LOVE making fresh breads. Sweet or savory. All kinds. Nothing beats it.
I’m excited over this video I’ve been wanting a chicken bake and now I can make my own. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. You made my day. Yours look delicious and full of goodness.
Wow, haven't had a Costco chicken bake in years-shop at Bjs now, closer but if in the area I would go by & enter from exit side to get one. Now I will do at home-I have a pizza oven in house & make my own dough, but have bought it too when time is crazy. I would add spinach to it. Thanks for sharing & having fun doing it.
Thanks so much. I will definitely try the recipe. It doesn’t look that bad. I’ll make the piece of dough and start with your recipe. It was good better than Costco last time. I ate one was maybe three years ago and it didn’t seem like anything. I told my husband, what the hell did they do? They didn’t put any seasoning inside. It didn’t taste like much before it was good. I didn’t like it last time I went. I am gonna try my best to do this one. I’ll let you know. Thanks God bless.❤😊
It took me 48 years to finally learn how to cook chicken so it's not all dried out. Brown on top of stove med high heat then put in 350 oven until finished
It's only the frozen aisle version that has the green onion, the cheese blend may also be different. I've seen a video of the last part of the process, they brush the top of the chicken bake with caeser dressing, and then roll it in the parmesean cheese and bake. The video in question says the rest came frozen and they didn't make it in store, but indicated it was because of pandemic, not sure if other stores make them fresh or if its a new change either.
I adore Costco chicken bake. So does my son. He’s 21 now, but probably for the last 6-7 years, any time I go to Costco, he asks me to get him one, and that’s been his birthday lunch request every year too. :) Also, it definitely looks nicer from my Costco than the one you showed in your video.
Well most people aren’t going for better tasting then better looking and that’s all based on your opinion because hers looks much fresher and much better
@@The_Only_Tracy I wasn’t talking about hers, as in the one she made from scratch, of course that one looks better. I was talking specifically about the one from my Costco compared to the one she got from Costco, like I said. I think you misunderstood. :)
If you actually let it sit out at room temperature for at least 3 or 4 hours that would be better. The dough will be easier to work with. Also if you use cornmeal instead of flour it's easier to roll out. Believe me I work at a pizza shop. I would use a garlic butter maybe add some basil finely chopped or the paste in the butter. Then put that over the crust when you go to put it in. But those sound delicious! I'm going to see if I can remember how to do this and see if my coworkers would like to try to do this as well. Those sound amazing!!❤
Ok, this is the first time I have seen your video, so i don't know about your cooking skills, but i had to subscribe because you forgot the bacon, and that is what happens sometimes. You are just real, and that is what i like about you. THIS LOOKS YUMMY.
I would use chicken thighs and Romano cheese on the inside , try it with mushrooms .and maybe try some with ricotta cheese inside too ? fyi take canned mushroom and put in fry pan on low heat till they brown to remove moisture and increase the flavor!!!
As soon as you ran that knife over the top of that golden crunchy chicken bake you had me.... I've never seen any of your videos until now! I hit that subscribe button so darn fast, I'm looking forward to scrolling through and seeing what other delicious creations you've come up with, watching from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺🦘💛
I've never had a chicken bake.... I'm a devout Polish sausage until they took it away and then nothing beats the regular hot dog - with allllll the fixings. Haven't had that in years, either. Your redo of the cb looked tasty. Well done, Nicole🌻
@nikip9161 I had the chicken bake once and wasn't impressed, so I've never had it again (too many carbs). These days I, too, stick to the hotdog with all the fixings. However, my personal favorite - which CostCo ceased making - was the BBQ sandwich with cole slaw on top. Now that was delicious!
The chicken bake at Costco used to be huge 15 years ago when my wife introduced me to it. Then shrinkflation happened. It's about 30% smaller with hardly any filling anymore, a lot of air.
I am pretty sure costco uses a processed chicken or canned chicken that is why its mushy. Yours looks like a masterpiece compared to a finger painting!
Hey Nicole happy Tuesday love u so much ur videos r amazing and ur a great cook that chicken bake looks delicious 😋 and yummy enjoy ur day and have an amazing summer stay cool 😎 it’s hot 🥵
What size of dough is this for? Is this for a large, medium, or extra large? 12,14,or 16 inch pizza? That's a definitely need to know so we know how much dough we're going to need...
You could go BBQ sauce with some red onions and mushrooms maybe. Or look for a teriyakis type sauce, reduce it down or use a corn starch slurry to thicken it up a bit.
great sentiment ... but if I'm going to CostCo anyway, why not pick up a few Chicken Bakes on the way out ... I usually grab 3 or 4 wrap them in foil when I get home, then about 8 min in the Air Fryer and I've got lunch for a few days and dont have to do any dishes!!!

Perfect! The only change I would make would be to use the Costco rotisserie chicken. Easier and more flavorful (and probably what they use).
Any rotisserie will work
That's actually not bad of an idea!
I would use Alfredo sauce
They are all made in the freezer section at Costco and it's cheaper to make homemade
I am definitely giving this a try! You could do so many different things with the fillings. I also think it would do well camping. Make ahead, wrap in foil, heat over the fire.
Looks so good...and the possibilities what to add what to change....would be a great Chicken Pot-Pie roll too!
This recipe is so amazing! I’ve made it twice in 2 weeks… I used my sourdough pizza dough. husband and kids are raving over it!

Lost without my kitchen timer
Thank you for this recipe!!! My son had one of these at Costco and loved it. Next time he visits I will make one for him. Your the bomb digity!
Thank you 😊
I would make my own pizza dough. I do all the time. It's really not difficult. This recipe looks good. I think I'll give it a try.

You know it's really good when she is dancing after that first bite. I have to try making this!
Yum. I think this would be excellent to place the fixins of Philadelphia cheesesteak too!
This is making me hungry. Looks delicious!
Thank you I’ve never had one but always wondered what they were made of.
Thank you so much for this recipe. I’m from QLD Australia and this looks fabulous for lunch at work. You over won the Costco version thanks heaps 👍🏻
Love your humor. Non-stressful, honest n relatable cooking video lol

Yes. Well done Nichole. Looks fabulous I'll try this
Definitely make this look good and crunchy at same time thank you for sharing with us.
Made this 2x already. Second time I added mushrooms. Amazing, thank you for sharing
This looks great to me! I think this could easily be a make ahead for a get together, much like a Stromboli.
Your videos make my heart smile. Thank you

Hi Nicole. This is Shirley from Calgary Alberta. YOU are my absolute favorite. I adore all your recipes.❤
Her sample chicken bake is amazing looking. Cuz the ones I usually get from costco have so much breading on the side.
That looks so much better than the Costco dough bomb version.
It took me 48 years to finally learn how to cook chicken so it's not all dried out. Brown on top of stove med high heat then put in 350 oven until finished
Instead of water, I'd probably use chicken stock
Or wine! Yes!
Maybe the best lesson learned here!!
I almost always brine my chicken. It adds so much flavour and it’s almost impossible to dry it out. I also brine pork.
And cook it to 150, not 165! Internal temp of 150 for 3 minutes and it's just as safe as 165, without drying out.

What kinda pizza crust did you use? Looks delicious!
I'd use creamy Italian dressing
Same! Great idea! Thanks.
I agree 👍
Costco version definitely has some type of sauce inside
never heard of these but I want to try it at home soon.
This looks awesome
Basil would be excellent in this!
Your version looks amazing! Great job!
Awesome I’ll definitely be giving this a try 👍
Nailed it!
Brag all you want! I'll be using the leftover rotisserie chicken 1st time, but good to learn the restaurant chicken method.

What pan was used to cook the chicken? Can you send me a link for purchase please
