Thanks for bringing them back When I was growing up in the 60 s there was an abundance of westerns on tv. Sadly they’re a thing of the past. I miss them.
Fantastic 😊, as an Australian ex Army Veteran l have soo much respect for actors and actresses who served in WW2 R.I.P all of these very brave people. Just love watching the old movies as a 67yr old , thank you. Jimmy Stewart ! What a man.
I hope I remember it is now Thursday instead of Friday, because it is a lot more fun watching old movies when there is a bunch of others enjoying them at the same time.
Mr. Word , the world is so much better with you and your hard work to make us old time Cowboys feel like kids again- peace and stay safe and healthy ❤️
Tough nails James Coburn, funny James Stewart - what a line up from WOW. Thanks Rob and your “wranglers”! 🤠 Always enjoy these westerns w/other western film people.
husband speaking age 81.10 I have a set of six cassette tapes on the Six Shooter, 1953 -54 . He got his name from his trusty grey steel and rainbow mother of pearl revolver. Great stories and as always, good wins out.
How I love these two westerns, both actors are great actors, always loved their work. The Windmill is just what I was looking for, I remember this growing up with my parents and watching the westerns with my family. My dad loved westerns and family night was our time to be all together. My mom usually was cooking dinner, but afterwards, she joined us and watched them too. Lots of good viewing then, TV was new and my parents had a very small black and white set, small screen, but also a big furniture addition which took up the space in a corner close by a floor gas furnace. This was great, because winters were harsh in the winter time, and it was easier for me to stay warm and not needing an extra blanket while watching the films on the TV…lol. They don’t make them like they used to….CGI and AI has taken over, actors/actresses and acting is no longer needed, but give me the day when acting was an art, and skills were a must have in Hollywood….I prefer the older over the newer high-tech innovations…..👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🥰
Rob the six shooter is my favorite on old time radio. This was a great pilot I don't know why they didn't turn it into a series, with Ernest Haycox story. Ronald Reagan (our ex president)was the program director, please play some more of these.
I generally liked James Coburn. Flint, The Magnificent Seven & The Great Escape where he was a protagonist...a good guy, if you will... were all movies that I loved as a kid and still so today.....plus we shared the same birthday.
Two great actors in two great episodes of television. Funny enough, Coburn was on today's episode of Bonanza. Im lucky my office has a TV, and it gets MeTV.
Finally got to hear the closing theme song to Tombstone Territory again - one of my favorites when just a 7 year old kid. The never play it on Grit --got to make more room for their never ending commercials. Also, the credits in a readable format. Thanks, Rob. Great memories.
The gunman in the first show was played by James Millican, one of the bad guys against Jimmy Stewart in the western classic 'Winchester 73. The banker John McIntyre was one of the most prolific and recognizable western character actors in the movies who played good guys and bad in dozens of films. He also starred in popular TV series like 'Wagon Train' and 'The Virginian.'
I will never understand how a quality production starring James Stewart in the 1950’s could fail to find a sponsor, especially since major movie stars on TV at that time were as rare as water in Death Valley. At least we eventually got The Restless Gun.
Jimmy Stewart in "real" life was a WW2 bomber pilot, B24), stayed with the A F after the war and earned his way to be General Stewart (which rank grade I don't know). AND NOW FOR THIS MOVIE THAT FROM THE START HAS HOOKED ME!!! Thank you "old timer adio - haha to you Sir.........Charles from the old days too
The Six Shooter was a great radio programme starring a great actor and it was such a shame that it never became a tv series. Dirty politics has no age.
Westerns x vida life time America Favorite roots era. Love them dearly This two giants Actors with The pure fine crafting acting In this so call 7th art.
Pat Conway played one hell of a Cowboy. Back then, James Coburn and Michael Pate were neck and neck for who was the most hated bad guy on TV. Coburn went on to really show his acting chops. Jimmy Stewart's "Windmill" was a good show, but the only thing close to it being about Brit Ponsett was the music. Thanks again, Rob for the Cowboy fun.
It would have been fun to see and episode of The Deputy with Henry Fonda and this one with Jimmy Stewart back to back since they were great friends. My dad introduced me to The Deputy when I was a kid. I was lucky enough to see Jimmy Stewart and Frank Capra in Salt Lake City in 1979. They talked about working together and about the films we were going to watch, Mr Smith Goes to Washington and You Can't Take it With You. Great fun and really interesting
Now that moves I’ve not seen real good ones. They will never make them like that again all the wonderful actor are gone . I do hope they knew how good they were.
Edgar Buchanan, who is in this Jimmy Stewart movie, was a fine character actor. He was a dentist until at the age of 38 he chose to hand the practice over to his wife and took up acting.
I didn't know that they made a pilot for Six Shooter. I listened to the radio drama. This could be good. Wandering gunman ... Will he ride off into the sunset? Let's find out.
No one could play the unassuming and unwanted label of "hero" like Jimmy Stewart. But no one has commented yet on the significance of his name...John Newman....New...Man.
James Stewart was great in anything he made, I enjoyed every movie with him in it, but, James Coburns movies, Our Man Flint, and In Like Flint, sadly, are the only movies with him I cared to watch.
JAMES COBURN MAGNIFICENT 7, LOST TRACK OF TIMES WATCHED. LOVED THEM ALL ESPECIALLY STEVE McQueen. Believe His Son Recently Past Away: Hopefully They Met IN Heavenlies .....
I own the complete Six Shooter radio series. So, he made a pilot? I wonder why Stewart's show couldn't get a sponsor, but the Restless Gun with a lesser star (yes, I have it on DVD) had no problem getting made? Payne was excellent, by the way, as he always was on screen. But he surely didn't have the drawing power of Stewart.
The woman, actress Barbara Hale, was the secretary in the 'Perry Mason' TV series. The banker is actor John McIntire, who replaced Ward Bond, upon Bond's sudden death in November 1960, as the star of NBC's popular TV series, 'Wagon Train'. The program supervisor was Ronald Reagan, who was........Well, you know.
As always thanks. A couple of very entertaining TV Westerns. The episode of Tombstone Territory looks like it has been tweaked/enhanced with some sort of AI application. The result is kinda creepy.
Just watched the double bill with James Stewart and James Coburn. Been a westerns fan my whole life (I'm 79). A question I have had for a long time, maybe you can answer it for me? In the James Stewart film, one of the actors was James (another one) Millican. I've always wondered if James Millican and Louis Jean Heydt were related. They look alike and even their voices sound alike. Any relationship between the two? Thx. Dick Giannettino 10/10/2024
*set yourself down; won't you sit down; take (get) your seat; have (take) a seat; you wanted to see me about something? it ain't exactly that; it's not that; I didn't catch your name; what was your name again? I'd like to *rest up; take (get) some rest; relax;
It's a shame that sheriff on Tombstone Territory show was such a bad actor. That could have been a great show like Gunsmoke. He just can't seem to play the role of a strong sheriff.
Thanks for bringing them back When I was growing up in the 60 s there was an abundance of westerns on tv. Sadly they’re a thing of the past. I miss them.

Always thrilled to see an old western I havent seen before! And Jimmy Stewart to boot!
Westerns are adult movies, which don't make viewers feel like "kids".
Friend, I'll add to that. I thoroughly enjoyed this pairing.
Both portrayed a life lesson to be learned like in The Rifleman.
@@williamclifford9757 THANK YOU! Stay young at heart and in the saddle. 🤠
These are the giants of original art that will not be repeated over time.
Wwoooooooww!!! Both were sooooooo very good❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. I could watch these types of movies ALL day!!!
James Stewart is indeed great!
Tough nails James Coburn, funny James Stewart - what a line up from WOW. Thanks Rob and your “wranglers”! 🤠 Always enjoy these westerns w/other western film people.
Two of my favorite actors & some of the best westerns ever.
Coburn is great in this role always enjoyable
Westerns, like Jazz...unique to the North American Continent, true and juicy Americana! Thank you for this Double Bill !

The James Stewart Windmill was great, I had never seen it. James Stewart is my favorite actor in western movies. Thanks for posting
You're very welcome
Thank you for keeping the western genre alive Rob. Much appreciated.
A wonderfull story thanks Rob from down under ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

" AI has taken over," yes, mostly in hype!😂
Fantastic double western great cast.
Glad you enjoyed it
The first one with James Stewart and Barbara Hale was good. The one with James Coburn was typical western TV, more or less.
JIMMY STEWART A CHRISTIAN, A USA MILITARY PILOT, ONE OF THE BEST: ROY ROGERS, GENE AUTRY, JOHN WAYNE, CLINT EASTWOOD, TOO MANY TO NAME....
What is your point?
@@cwtcknessThe POINT is they were all men of Honor. It's above your head, I'm too tired to explain.
It's a shame the Six Shooter radio series only lasted a season; it's one of my top favorite radio programs ever made.
Rob the six shooter is my favorite on old time radio. This was a great pilot I don't know why they didn't turn it into a series, with Ernest Haycox story. Ronald Reagan (our ex president)was the program director, please play some more of these.

in the "Windmill" episode.

"Im lucky my office has a TV," paid to watch tv?
@@truthadvocacy Haha, don’t I wish? No, I work with some family, and they let us have a TV on for background noise.
Always enjoyed James Coburn. England, October, 2024.

I totally agree, tab. Thanks!!
O. M. G. how much I love these movies and actors !!😢🎉❤ I Cristian ( Romania)

As I recall MacIntyre was also in The Far Country as well. Hale with Stewart in Jackpot
Had to duck out during the live but what a great one! Thanks Rob.
James Coburn's Red was possibly my favorite in "The Magnificent Seven".
Another top story thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You are so welcome. Thank you.

@AWordonWesterns Good morning Rob, thank you!
"Windmill" aired as an episode of G.E. Theater (4-24-1955).

Edgar Buchanan, who is in this Jimmy Stewart movie, was a fine character actor. He was a dentist until at the age of 38 he chose to hand the practice over to his wife and took up acting.
James Coburn was also an active “big screen” actor who worked with Randolph Scott, Kirk Douglass, and even Mel Gibson.
Gud shoe guys, gud to watch with y'all

Ha! Why do I ache?
I didn't know that they made a pilot for Six Shooter. I listened to the radio drama. This could be good.

GOOD STUFF!! VG MOVIES!!
The Restless Gun was also based on The Six Shooter too. And as Rob said, it did sell.
Our man flint 😉
As good as James Stewart and Barbara Hale are... I don't think anyone wanted to watch that show ...with that premise.!! Stewart was always good.!!
No one could play the unassuming and unwanted label of "hero" like Jimmy Stewart. But no one has commented yet on the significance of his name...John Newman....New...Man.
good movie
The actual title of the Tombstone Territory episode is "The Gunfighter", but IMDB gives it an alternate title ("To the Last Man").
Thanks, Pryce.
I love James especially Jimmy Stuart let's talk about some famous Henry's one would be my uncle who was best friends with James stewart
@timlabell You're uncle had to be Hank Fonda then
Yes😊
I note that the Six Shooter used the same theme music as the radio show.
I liked Coburn in 'Duck You Sucker'
good singer at the end
