Cetate=Fortress, Citadelle, = inhabitted by a nobil (king, price, count, marquis, etc.. ) and his court, plus the servants and a military garisson. A fort surrounded by high stone build walls. A place were the villagers livind around would come for protection at the time of migrating barbarian plunderers like horse rider Huns, Mongols, Tartars, Turks, etc...The fortress would usually be encircled by a deep water channel connected to outside by a bridge that can be raised during the night.
I had an all too brief visit (10 days) of various places in Romania. It's a beautiful country with great authentic architecture. It should be on everyone's bucket list!

Cautam informatii despre orase mai mici din Romania. Am gasit acest video de calitate, foarte bine documentat si structurat. Multumim si felicitari. (Te-am auzit vorbind romana si de aceea ne-am permis sa scriem in romana).
you must remember that Romania was once a Part of the Austro -Hungarian Empire so German is spoken in some parts of Romania. Plus since the 80's and 90's many Romanians have gone to Germany, Austria England and the USA to work and make there fortunes. they naturally may meet a foreigner marry them and bring them and there kids back to Romania but those kids or forgin partners first language may be German or English and not Romanian.
This beautiful city was constructed, and founded by German immigrants. Its German name: Mediasch. It was one of the fortified cities of Siebenbürgensachsen , a colonial system founded and cultivated by the large German population of Transylvania of past centuries.
From personal experience, living on €1,000 a month in Bucharest is like living on £2,500-£3,000 in London. That can cover your rent (a one bedroom apartament, not shared), the bills, the transport and the food, perhaps even more if you rented something smaller. Most people are renting flats costing from €250 to €500 a month, a €450 a month flat looks AMAZING. It depends on your studies/qualifications, experience and so on. The IT jobs are very well paid for example, you can live as a king on one of those salaries in Romania. Try having a look on Indeed or similar websites.

What’s the monthly salary there?
Depends! What do you want to do as a job? What's your profession?
