Lyrics:
Suppression makes a weight
That strips the life of everything
To scared to walk away
Down in your heart
The image of a life
You’re dying just to be there
Crying on your knees
Be weary of the things you want
( the thorn in your paw, you crave)
You can't predict what's coming
Unlock
Your fingers from my hand
You never see the things you have
( there's always a way, to change)
Slice up and not across
When you’re trying to make the deepest cut
Illusion makes a gape
That kills the flow of everything
To dumb to walk away
Down in your mind
You never even tried.
You’re dying just to be there. Just crying on your knees
You couldn't say her name in a single way
You never found the time
She didn't make a sound when she hit the ground
In the image of her life
Be weary of the things you want
( the Thorne in your paw, you crave)
You can't predict what's coming
Unlock
Your fingers from my hand
You never see the things you have
( there's always a way, to change)
Slice up and not across
When you’re trying to make the deepest cut
Be careful of what you desire
You can predict what's coming
Unlock
You fingers from my hand
You never give the things you want
Slice up and not across when you’re trying
To make the deepest cut

2:10 I could listen to this drum and bass for hours
That drum, and bass solo mid trackk.. then Anthony joins in.. that's pure ecstasy 😍🐚 beard, and Stephen are killer on this track.
2:31 and the guitar while Anthony sings is unreal
This song is so groovy and has such a dark psychedelic vibe to it. Kinda reminds me of The Sound of Animals Fighting. I love it.
The Amulet is turning out to be game changer!
4CPE very true
when the old dude opened his mouth I died. That voice should never come out of his moth.
*butterfly
its badass dude xD
Wow.. The way they have the verses in 7/8 and the chorus in 8/8 really makes the verses sound frantic and when the chorus hits it's like a big release which really helps the lyrics. This is a bad ass song and the video is awesome, too. It'd be cool if they continued this "story" for "The Hex".
I think it's 7/4 and 4/4
But i agree, awesome song! The best one so far
I agree, there's less of of an 8 feel to this song and more of a 4. Normally in a song with 7/8, there's a harder shift between measures
i personally think this may be circa's best song ever
I've noticed a lot of their songs are in irregular time signatures and switch back and forth during the song. It's some serious talent doing that regularly and making it sound fantastic.
What’s this song about
This is one of my favorite Circa songs. The sound has always felt "different" but at the same time perfectly Circa. The video is awesome too, especially being relatable having lived near Lancaster, PA for a time.
This song has the icy sadness that is Juturna, very VERY strong showing guys. I can't wait for the rest of this album to drop, so far 3/3.
Damn those lovely guitar melodies are what made me fall in love with you guys and then the drums/bass and the voice/lyrics is the icing on the cake! Thank circa for creating more music to sooth the mind!
I agree! I feel like people don't give enough credit to circa's the guitar melodies! They're always so intricate and complex. Love em.
Alex Kessler riiight! It's just that wavy guitar sound that attracts my ears... that progressive sound! They really know how to fill in each other's fills. Just pure glorious.
yeah definitely! the composition is amazing. one of the lead guitars is panned hard left and the other is panned hard right. they do completely different things and yet they complement each other. brilliant.
Alex Kessler aww damn they do huh... that was well said woman. damn they are a unique bunch. I can listen to their guitar melodies all day... lullaby 24/7!
hahahah very true. Though I'm actually not a female, but yeah hahah.
After all the time watching this video I just now saw Anthony Green sitting next to the mother who second guessed her decision at 2:36!!!!
the whole band is in the video if you look close enough! haha
@@danegagnon wow you are absolutely right!
@@leviblack5350 the first one I noticed was Brendan in the beginning. Then I started to look for the rest of the band. It was a fun time finding them all haha.
Deep, deep symbolism in this one. Circa has always been this way, leaves interpretation to the beholder. And rightfully so. This way they produce a thousand stories for a thousand different minds. To me this is exactly what the lyrics say. Be weary of what you want. As soon as you get what you think you need, it end up being what hurts you. They are saying "don't idolize us". Music is worship for them. We are the fans (people in service). They are the pastor (Circa). You the viewer, yourself (the man brought before the pulpit). It all makes so much sense. This isn't another careless video. I like this alot. Even if it doesn't turn out to be my favorite album by them, it is important and it is who they are becoming. I will forever be a fan of this.
Amazing job by the director, cinematographer, and lead actor! SO WELL DONE BRAVO
This is for sure my favorite music video, like in general
One of the best music videos of 2017. Josh Coll does not disappoint. I really felt something after watching this.
Great song as well. Circa never disappoints.
This whole album is great. Especially this song.
Cj Doyle the album hasn't even been released yet
Cj Doyle if your talking about the singles then yes they're awesome
weirdlystrange2000 the album got leaked
Can confirm, heard the leak, album is absolutely amazing. I could do with a little more Descensus screaming, and less Along the Shadow screaming. I love the music, but personally his screaming doesn't really do it for me.
Nathan is that nayeon in your pic?
this young child who acted in 2:21 is phenomenal
God damn man, this song is amazing! I love where they're going with this new album.
Me too!!!!
I love anything they do but honestly this album isn't very listenable!
@@jerrid86 This guy must've been smoking the work when he typed this 😂😂😂
I can't wait to listen to the whole album in one sitting.
the part where the camera pans to those girls in the front and they sing "the thorn in your paw" is so dope
Thanks we’re actually identical triplets but only two of us could make the shoot!
definitely a sick part. not sure what it is about it but its great
Anthony can sing any genre with that voice.
By far, this is one of my favorite Circa Songs. It only rivals Bird Sounds, Backmask, and the Longest Mile.
I think it rivals certain parts of OLG
Wow. One of the best videos in a long time. Really feeling that. I can't wait to see you guys with Thrice in Boston! Keep up the good work!
BANDS MATURE AND CIRCA IS AGING FINE LIKE WINE.... The Amulet is an amazing next chapter, and we should be grateful for anything Circa Survive gives us if we are true fans.
Can already tell the live version of this song will be an euphoric/hypnotic experience. Circa Survive forever
Simple lyrics but his voice sounds like a million words. I love Circa Survive.
I loved hearing the instruments being louder and more pronounced. It reminded me of "handshakes at sunrise", at first. I like the new album so far, especially Anthony's vocals at the end of the Amulet.
Goosebumps. Got Anthony's autograph w/ Young Legs from pre-ordering back then. His voice is unreal.
Been far too long I have not heard this band, glad I got back to them with this song.
They still kicking ass too imo
Like all Circa songs, this one will eventually grow on me.
Their sound has evolved so much it's almost come full circle this album is its own thing it's own style of circa but it sounds so eerily familiar. Just love the flowing guitars, bass included being chugged along by the drums and Anthony's voice like a divining rod unfolding me into myself
I've been listening to this song for the past hour or more
Jordan Kanner I honestly thought that exact same thing about Descencus. This album will really blend it all together. To watch and hear these guys evolve has been an amazing experience.

Best song of the year in my life.
There's Those Feelings They Give Us
There's That Heart That Keeps Us All Listening
Beautiful Sad Relatable Music Video
Ready For The 22nd
My sister and I loved being a part of this! It’s too bad our third sister couldn’t make it!
Thank you!
Levesque Triplets I’m so curious to know, how did you become aware of the opportunity to be a part of this video shoot?
Your third sister drank that liquid too? :(
@@MrHeartbreakerable Yeah now I look like this ):
So awesome
This is incredible. I haven't enjoyed a Circa Survive song this much since Blue Sky Noise
Best song yet holy crap
Yes it's probably some of the best circa that I've heard since on letting go and it has that creepy Erie eccentric sound with Anthony's voice playing second to the instrumental
This is a really good song plus video! The Hex is another outstanding addition to humanity's greatest achievements.
Si la fe no te puede salvar, nada lo hará.
Anyone else notice how Anthony magically took the place of the long haired guy and he's just chillin' there? @ 2:34
But it's another person at 0:56 .
Sorry I like to notice the little details and changes in random frames and such.
Great music video, great song can't wait for the full album!
Such a dark yet beautiful song. Circa kills it
this album is gold so far
I love how Circa Survive is like an Easter egg in this video lol
Starland ballroom here i come !!!! Saw them in Hollywood at the wiltern with Coheed and Cambria
WAIT WHAT?! Guys De Villiers @2:29 @1:02 is a Famous South African Actor, So Epic to see him in this video.
Thought The Shepherd looked familiar. Never thought I'd see a local actor in a Circa Survive video. Love the video and the new music!
I've been listening Circa Survive for 10 years now, and this is the best thing I've seen from then. Just great.
This music video is just creppy and awesome and has an awesome groovy swag too it.. One of the best Circa Songs out there but this. Album will probably be there best right behind Juturna
So excited for this new album. I was getting some True Detective flashbacks during this video.
criminally underrated
The best song from this new album
0:49 me appreciating new circa irl
made me lol dude ahaha
This whole album is amazing it’s a rare thing when all of the songs are great and theirs no need to skip a track 👌🏻🤙🏻 cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
This entire album is Juturna levels of greatness. Fuck, decensus and blue sky noise we're up there as well. Best band ever. I think the mental health and addiction issues Anthony has dealt with really put a emphasis on some of the pyric in what he writes. Love circa survive
Midsommar vibe dude !
Favorite song on the album
beautiful tune...
I adore this song and the band
The actors are amazing!
underrated band..their songs are amazing actually
All I have to say is mind blown 🤯
All actor are wow talented with chilling beautiful screen adaption and amazing music
Yet another Circa video!?? It's like xmas!!!!! This might be my favorite of the lot. Can't wait for the new album! Keep knocking it out of the park guys!
That music video hits deep dude. I love it.
So good! Love the video concept
This is so hypnotic. I feel like I have to listen to this song because it is so good.
buena canción y gran calidad...circa survive nunca desaprueba
There is no better production groove than Circa
This album is the first one I've thoroughly loved since Juturna. Love it :D
Masterpiece !
The best so far... Come to Argentina!!
Are they doing a video for every song on the album? They should! This album sounds sick so far!
New album has been awesome! Pumped for September 22nd.
HOLYYYYYYYYYYYY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!! MUCH LOVE FROM BRAZIL
The narrative in this video is fantastic and terrifying.
Circa Survive and The Killers both have albums that come out September 22 both have a conch shell on the cover.
This whole album stands on its own and is unlike anything they've released. Happy to see the band drown them self in the music and come out with this shit from a different plain of existence
hell yes
The Shepard/Pastor is Gys De Villiers from South Africa. Very cool to see a South African actor in one of my favourite bands videos
Still cant believe how amazing this song and video is
Loving this song!
A year later and this song is still bad ass!
This is a really really good music video.
Damn getting a 3 strip tomorrow this already on my playlist for the trip
That video is so good and so messed up. Love that song.
Wow, holy shit!
I've been ooobsessed with this album for the past month. Sitting in my car after work replaying songs while I'm driving home then just sitting there w the lyrics and just vibing w chills while listening. Just watched this video and after reading the lyrics and woww, amazing! When the girls sang " the thorn in your paw, you crave) I almost came in my pants
Haha jkjk but damn, this video is so good at painting what Circa wanted to show.
Stephan Clifford SLAYS this track
Had me wanting more at the end! Great music!
definitely my favourite track of the new album!
The first time I heard this song was without the music video so I felt like it was a bit bland. But watching the music video itself gave it a whole new meaning! It definitely gave me an eerie/shocked feeling towards the end.. Pretty fucking awesome song
why so underrated..amazing song
amazing
holy shit this is awesome! cant wait for the album
Lina M. I already listened to it. Its gotta grow on me
This is so groovy. It makes me happy. Still dark though.
Safe camp family!!!
LOVE THIS SONG!!!
Yea this is pretty badass. Nice tune boys, thanks!
absolutely amazing art
i cry ! man i just cant wait to hear it all l
That was amazing.
who is that red-haired guy? that is some masterful acting at 1:51
Y e s !!!! this is brilliant!! Beautiful band!
Amazing tune--reminds me a lot of Glass Arrows and some of their other excellent tracks
