That is correct. The initial design was made by my good friend Black.op50. I improved on his design and uploaded with his permission. I was also there to help with his initial design. The drones are meant to be used primarily for recon but also for swarm dead flight tactics. They are cheap to build. Sending several of these is better than sending an expensive ship. Plus you can just keep building them since resource requirements are low.
If the drone has to be that size mind as well be a ship. Your spot on about the size and placing the camera at tail to see better is also a practical correction to the drone's flaw. It's just a good looking dick drone is all the points it gets.
kay so i made one thats 17 small block long. 1.5 thick. 3 wide body and 18 ish wing span.. all AI works. goes to enemy bace at a certain height. just having problems with release trigger.. smart blocks arent that smart after all. need a trigger for when arived at gps checkpint or something

Hey, you should take a look at some of the Formula Space Engineers race tracks that are on the workshop. They are some cool builds.
What about the 4 atmo thrusters on top?
Wouldn't they damage each other normally?
depends on spacing, 2 blocks inbetween should be fine

Small grid atmo thrusters have a damage "bubble" of only one block
