Such amazing talent! Grew up listening to many of the songs you have covered.
Don’t know where to post a song cover request, I feel that the LLB would do a killer job covering Sausalito Summernight by Diesel!
LLB and Daryl's House.
It's all the music I need.
Man you guys have changed my life and appreciation of music in general.
Llb is all I need
such a stunning cover, loads of thanks. [el'sda2].
Another one that you’ve done that I think is better than the original!
I didnt expect that solo to be so extremely accurate to the studio original. just amazing cover, I feel bad calling it a cover because its so dang sweet.
I couldn’t agree more… well said!
that solo is never the same....even from one take to another with the original mates I would assume. The feel and ferocity are what matter!!
Exactly. Calling LLB a cover band seems like a slight. Each one of these musicians could be called into the original group’s concert tour lineup at anytime.
Will Calhoun’s drums were spot on, too.
@@OvertravelX agree. He, and all of them nailed it.
Randy KILLED that bass line!!!🤘🏼
He sure did! That's not an easy bass line to play, either...I know from experience! Well-done, Randy!!!
Bros and sista...do you not know hard it is to cover this song?? This song has a high level of feeling, depth, tonality and playing ability. BUT you covered it beyond expectations.! There are only two bands on Earth that can perform this masterpiece.... Living Colour and YOU!!
Faces = melted. Everyone kills in this cover, but Randy...I see you holding down that bass line. That was awesome!
This guitar solo is just MONSTROUS
This is one of those songs where the bass players has to have chops and put in WORK. Randy knocked it out of the park.
I've watched you guys for years and never commented until now. I'm floored after seeing that. I never thought you guys would tackle a song as heavy and guitar intense as that one is and you nailed it to perfection. I'm sorry that I don't know which guitar player, Chris or Brad, unleashed the goods on Vernon's solo, but he absolutely killed. I just kept shaking my head throughout the song that you guys were on fire on this. I know a lot of LLB fans might not care for the metal flavor of this, but personally, I want more like this! You guys can crank it out!
The Gods Are Well Pleased ⚡⚡⚡⚡
W.O.A.D.!(withoutadoubt)!
@@raymorgan2780 And the God's made Love ..have you ever been to electric lady Land? Wink!! Yeah the Lex band, shredded this muther!! I like it better than the original, frankly!!
Holy shit!!!!! I’m grinning ear to ear and head banging the whole song! That lead guitar fret board was on the verge of burning off the neck! Freaking sick cover by EVERYONE involved.
Wow, Wow, Wow!!! Chills from head to toes!!!! My man has Vernons tone down to a tee!!!! Really great job people. So, So professional and very tight!! Did I say WOW yet? This 57 year old white dude is up jumping and headbanging like crazy, its a good thing I'm home alone. Loved them when I bought the album in the summer of 1988, and still love them now.
no kidding, that tone was spot on, and clear as a bell to boot.
Hard to believe this song was released 34 year ago, You guys make it sound fresh, Bravo !
ikr?? I was a senior in high school when this song came out! What on earth happened? 8-D
Was in 4th grade... Of the 3 schoolbus drivers I had over 9 years, the driver always had the top 40 or classic rock station playing on the bus. Had to ride for like 30 to 40 minutes a day living in the country. These songs always seem to remind me of riding on the bus to or from school. Then there was the Sony Walkman cassette and headphones I used on the bus. And in teenage years hanging out in NRM or Camelot music in the mall... that just got renovated into a warehouse/industrial space.... Like the other commenter.... What on Earth happened. haha
Ok, after witnessing that guitar solo my face just melted. Perfect tribute to a song that’s more relevant than ever nowadays. LLB as always, you guys have delivered a 5-star performance!
I don’t know if this is the best one you’ve ever done but, it’s gotta be in the top two.
Now I am absolutely fascinated. I'd be desperately challenged to narrow it down to a top ten (even these guys give themselves 11 slots), what would put alongside this for top honors?
Email us your top 11 through our website!
You just might be the most versatile cover band ever! Bravo! This ROCKS!
This is definitely in "guitar hero" territory. In fact, it has conquered and subdued everything inside the borders of guitar hero territory, leaving only a devastated landscape of molten ears.
Holy Sh*t, Phenomenal!!!!!!🎸 What a incredible guitar player! Hands down, one of the best bands around LLB!!
Living Colour's Cult of Personality will stand the test of time.
Everything about this song is the perfect rock anthem,
and the message is insanely profound and relevant.
You guys doing this cover to perfection is proof.
I remember Vernon Reed on the cover of guitar player magazine .. Damn that cover DID JUSTICE !!!!!!
This song never gets mentioned in the list of top riffs, or top 80s guitar performances, and I don't know why. It is so memorable and just fantastic all around. Great job!
I have truly enjoyed your videos for over a year. Brilliant covers, spot-on accuracy. Then I saw this one on my youtube feed and I said "wait... _nobody_ can play like Vernon Reid. NOBODY can do that apeshit, 64th note wang bar waltz like Ried". Well, Almost nobody. Amazeboo.
OMG!! I give that one a solid 20 out of 10! That song is DEAD...cause you all KILLED IT!!
Leonard bringin the goods! Mad props to the guitar player. Not very many players can pull off Vernon Reed with credibility. Great job to all!
Thanks, one of my favourite bands from the 80s. The axework on this one is on the mark. Vernon Reid has his own style. Well done!
oh my GOD THAT SOLO IS JUST… OMG 🎸 🔥
Damn! A mic drop moment!! This band is just amazing. The guitar work by Chris leaves you speechless. Ryan and Randy killing it too! Hell, everyone was on point!!! Thank you all for this performance!!!
Not sure that isn't their best yet. Incredible song that's still so relevant today. They did Vernon, Corey and the whole band justice and that ain't easy!
Awesome. The complicate musical changes along are difficult. Singing t the original tone is an incredible feat. Lead guitarist killed it. They all did.
DAMN!! That cover was exact!! That is the first time I have ever heard it done this good since the original!! Amazing.
Wow! The solos and vocals! Jessica bringings more energy and life by rocking out in the background! . Love it
Wow, what a great cover of a great song. Nailed it! The singer has been knocking me out lately with his versatility on so many tunes, really great! And everyone is talking about the work capturing the work of Burnin' Vernon Reed's guitar solo so I'll just leave at 'Bravo!'
Fantastic Job 👍👌 Wow! It's one of those smashing fast paced Rock Songs that came and went. But I thought it was Amazing with it's dynamic riffs, tight bass runs, almost syncopated drum runs. You have to really nail the Spirit if this song. You All Nailed it, Big Time. ,🎸🎼🎶🥁🎉 Wow, all the way from Living Colour 1988 Vivid Album. Their single from their Freshman Album. Won a Grammy Award for Best Performance 🎸 God Bless the MTV Hey Day. It won 2 MTV Awards for Best Group and Best New Artist! Good choice of Song LLB!
That bass player is a monster 🤟👍🏻
That was Outstanding. Dude Killed it on guitar! .... good to see Ryan back on the pads, w the Epic Twirl at 3:49! .... and loved seeing how much fun Jess was having! Fabulous. 8-)
Vernon, is that you??? Another proper banger from LLB!!!
Every single person totally brought it! Loved it. I didn't remember the bass being so outstanding in this song. Looked like fun to play. Well played and well done. Fantastic.
Get on the bus and start the tour!!! Just Damn!!
One word: WOW!!!
Setting up for a gig tonight and the drummer asks if I can run home and grab a hi-hat stand since he forgot to load his and I live closest to the venue. I get in the car and while I’m trying to get music playing on my phone I see ‘Cult Of Personality’ pop up in my notifications and click on it to see what it is. I played CoP for a talent show in high school and have always loved the song so your version brought a huge smile to my face. I may have ignored the speed limit on the way home while singing along as loudly as I could. Thank you for firing me up on what is going to be a long night.
AHHHHMAZZING that this guy was able to figure out Vernon's intricate and intensely frenetic solos in this tune...incredible!
One of my favorites! Such an oddball guitar riff in that song. Of course that's no trouble for you. Everything about that song is insane! Killed it!
Everything about this is true to the original, EVERYTHING!!! That was exquisite…………
Saw them when this was new opening for the Stones in ATL...in 1989
All I can say is WOW! You guys always amaze me! The guitar work, especially the bass! Vocals......just WOW!
When I first saw the title of this video I thought maybe you guys had bitten off way more than you could chew but I was pleasantly surprised! You all did a great job. Randy, you were tearing that bass line up brother! The lead guitar was spot on as well.
Nicely done LLB.
Imagine as a teenager the feeling of hearing these songs for the first time and then 35 years later having that feeling all over again only this time, it’s as if you’re at the live concert with NO mishaps… I hope you guys know how appreciated you are by those who lived through one of greatest times in music history and how it takes us back to our prime… This is every bit as good as the original.
Knocked it out of the park!!! Just wow.
PERFECT! Not a single flaw as always. Again, yet again, I've just got to call you all of you true MASTERS!
Vernon Reid is a legend. So are you all.
You folks did a great rendition of one of my favorite rock songs from the 80s. Really nailed the guitar solos too. Awesome.
The word AWESOME doesn't even begin to describe this INCREDIBLE cover! Fantastic vocals and musicianship all around, with special KUDOS to that amazing feat of percussive prowess engineered and performed by Ryan McQuerry. Wow, I'm left utterly breathless and I'm sure that Will Calhoun would undoubtedly share that same sentiment!!☺
WOW!!!! Another great example of how good this band is! Amazing!!!
Also, Sweetwater is an amazing place! I live about 5 miles from their main store in Ft. Wayne, IN. If you ever visit Ft. Wayne, you have to take a couple of hours and visit their store. You won’t be disappointed!
Someone hold my beer said the lead guitarist, that was epic,I think the best you've ever done
Hell ya!! If Siskel and Ebert were here, they’d be given that two thumbs up!! First of all, that’s my dude on lead vocals, killing it, and rocking out…you are the man bro! Next we got the lead guitarist shredding Vernon Reid…note for note… and completely rocking out, in the zone…and in the moment! Killer “Lab” presence and just a flawless performance man!! Next up, that bass looks like GQ magazine just came out with their own signature bass! Talk about a sharp looking instrument, dang! Then, the drummer… just in the pocket, spinning sticks, smashing flams, kicking a** and taking names! Overall performance…I give it a 10…not that I’m anybody, but I’ve been playing drums, singing lead vocals and playing lead guitar for over 30 years, so I’d like to believe I’ve got a good ear. Just an absolutely phenomenal performance guys, that made my night, thank you!! Oh… and I’ve been sharing your music every day since found your page! 🙏
Once again, LLB nails it! My man blazing on the solo I thought for sure his fingers were going to catch on fire!
Wow. I thought you all were crazy to try and attempt this one! Vernon Reid is a untouchable MONSTER on guitar. Not to mention Corey’s vocals and the killer drums & bass. You did it Justice.
VIVID, such a great album. Vernon Reid's solos are insane
WOW...note for note... Shredding that guitar
Amazing as usual…..what a perfect way to start the day. How about more Living Colour?
Looooove this song! Thanks so much for performing it!
The baseline to this is SO DIFFICULT! Props to your bassist!
Daaaaaaaaaaaaang y’all 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
You just blew the roof off whatever studio you're in. That KICKED ASS Guys!!!!
I am absolutely blown away…. That was wicked! Awesome job!! I think this is the best one yet!!
MY GOSH!!! Are you kidding me? I never thought anybody would even attempt to cover this song, but nail it with on point precision? Outstanding performance!! How May times is the like button available?
I was 14 when this song came out and I remember being absolutely blown away by it.
I have no words to adequately describe just how incredible this cover was so I'll just say damn good job everyone!
This is insanely good!!
I am here after hearing this song being played over a North Carolina's state rest area's music speakers during my travel on Memorial Day weekend.
The melodies, riffs, bass, drums and lyrical catchiness grabbed me for days.
Such an Iconic Sound ...SO WELL DONE Vernon Reid is Smilling
Excellent! The formula for LLB yields the best results!! Thank you all for what you do! You have no idea the impact you are making on people’s lives, including mine!
HOLY CRAP! What energy!! You guys are NEXT level. BTW.....lead guitarist is a monster. 😮
I could swear I saw flames coming out of the lead guitarists finger tips during that 2nd solo
DAMN THAT ROCK'S !!! Lead Guitar ( and All of you ) just SMOK'IN It !!
I cannot stop watching this. Absolute phenomenal and beyond excellent.💪👍
You guys nailed it, as evidenced by Jessica, jamming out the entire time in the background and having an absolute blast just listening between vocals.
Man you gentlemen and young lady, totally nailed it down, put the Rock to it and then some !!! Have been watching your work for a few years now and it is always exceptional but this one left me cranking up the headphones and banging my head right along with you !!!
🤯🤯... Kudos to you all on a job extremely well done !!
👏👏🎸🥁🎤🎶✌️
You guys killed it!! Sooo tight. Guitar shred gave me shivers !! Randy’s base work numbed me !! I can tell by the bands reaction how much they enjoyed doing it. Bravo
I really hope Vernon Reid gets to see this.. Unbelievable cover... You guys just keep raising the bar.. awesome job.
That guitar solo gave me goosebumps....
Oh no. We can't have anymore of this. Y'all had too much fun doing this. LOL Freaking fantastic job!!
Don't know what I enjoyed more, the music or watching you guys get into the groove and really genuinely enjoying the moment! Fantastic!
No way! This is unreal, I just found you guys the other night and will be binge watching all weekend, thanks!
Wow guys!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Awesome cover, great heavy rock.
The lead guitarist was jaw-dropping.😲
All of you did a great job, the groove was pretty tight. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
YES!! Fantastic! Saw Living Colour years ago in a small club in CT. They were awesome! Great job all! 👍🎸🥁
Stunningly great...and that's not even the right word, in my 63 years, and 30 of those years in FM radio, you guys knock most of your "covers" out of the ball park, this one, though, was stellar! Rock On!
Holy smokes !!!!!! Great song and great cover of it so true to the great Vernon Reid in guitar wow smoking smoking smoking guitars 🎸 ❤👍🏼
Wow guys!! It seems like every time it’s something new and unexpected.
Dude is eating the strings off that guitar!!!
Outstanding.
That guitar tone tho, so on point and recognizable. Great stuff..
Spot freakin’ on! Best cover I’ve ever heard of this song! Nice job!!!
Everytime.....just blows me away how fantastic you all are. Absolutely mind blowing.
Holy crap the guitar solos were on point! Wow!
I have always been afraid to cover this song due to not wanting to butcher the solo. After this version, my fears continue! Such a sick cover and amazing guitar playing!
BEYOND EXCELLENT!!! WOW!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Speechless … definitely my top fav LLB cover.
You're the first band I hear that play a Living Colour cover!!! Man, that was Phucking amazing!!! 👊😎👌⭐⭐⭐
That was fantastic. You know it’s good when that bass player is smirking lol
Another fantastic job! One of my favourites ... brilliant work all round!!
wow! WOW! WOW!....I LOVE IT !!! THAT IS A BAD ASS COVER!! GREAT JOB EVERYONE!!!
Sweet! Vernon Reid is a monster! Well done LLB!
Good lord! I am good friends with Muzz Skilling’s brother. He once took me to a show in Jersey where Living Colour was playing at a private celebrity party. That band was TIGHT! As are the Lexington Lab Band. Unbelievable sound and musicians. Another home run.
Please pass the word to Muzz that it was an honor for me to try to cover his bass work, and COP is the most challenging song I have ever had to work up. Muzz is the man! I've been a fan of his since the first Living Colour CD was released (I still have that CD)
@@rrefalo you were definitely the musician, I thought of when I saw this, which is why I mentioned Muzz. The guitarist and singer(s)…oh my y’all are great.
@@rrefalo Nobody ever mentions Muzz' playing when LC comes up in conversation. Always leaves me scratching my head, as I find his bass playing to be incredibly inventive. Be sure to check out their 2nd album, Time's Up, where the playing is even more off the charts. IMO, it's a better album than the first. Very rare to be able to say that about a sophomore effort, especially after the first one hits to the level that Vivid did. You did a great job, and believe me, I was listening (and watching) :)
OMG Best one yet!! You guys are unreal !
Kudos to the entire band, I always wanted to hear what this song sounds like with TWO guitars plus bass. Shout out to Randy the bass player, and the mixer too, as it comes through despite the aforementioned 2 guitars.
Absolute shedding work on the guitar. Everyone as always - SPOT ON!!!
