There is nothing like being in the crowd for Eraser with thousands of other people screaming at the top of your lungs "KILL, ME!!!"...cathartic and soul-shaking, it simply has to be experienced to be understood
There ain't thousands there anymore my friend. Welcome to being old
The build of this performance is incomparable!
hell yeah man, when I first listened to this album I was 12 and I just sat down in a dimly lit room and listened all the way through. That's the way to listen to music
The audience singing along just makes it better!
now, when people are listening to albums less and less as albums, and instead jumping from whatever catches their eye to whatever catches their eye next (wikipedia's a good analogy), it's great to see a performance like this, which deserves to be watched from start to finish. the downward spiral one of the last amazing concept albums (until the next one?) was perfect material for it too. thanks thisoneisonus.
this is the most amazing live performace of this song ever!
2018 and this is still amazing! And a hell of a lot better than anything out today!
4:36 what the hell is this piano it sounds great!
what makes me lol is that you can hear me yell "saxaphone trent" at 0:31 !
Nine inch nails is the real deal!!!
Once you're living comfy, to be putting out a free album and going above and beyond... that's what i'm talking about. Music!!!
Fckng epic drum track like no other!!
FUCK YES!!!! He's using the actual instrument to make the reed blowing noise!!! Best performance ever.
I would die to see this!! Real facts 😁
....Thank YOU!
I'd shit myself if they played Eraser when they came to Winnipeg in 2008.
Honestly.
I'd flip out.
Ok, is it me or did the bass into the first few seconds of the song sound vaguely like "My Sharona"? I've only noticed it on this clip, not on others, or in the original song itself.
The industrial guitar riff(s) at 4:01 defines this song! My favorite album
That sound at the start not being some random sample shocked me
oof, it hits so much differently and better whenever it's live.
This is Epic! Well done.
thank you...millions.
goosebumps
Best stuff ever..
fucking brilliant, i saw them 5/29/09 in Chicago and it was the greatest thing i've ever done in my life
it must be so awesome to have thousands screaming “kill me” before you. 😐
Everybody “KILL ME!!! KILL ME!!! KILL ME!!!l fucking love it!
Damn..... that's right... Damn !!!
Incredible. The crowd was awesome. Such an explosive performance. That's a very different way of ending that song too. Great performance, but not quite the same without Trent playing the 3rd guitar...
Robin Finck. Is a fucking sexy guitar god ❤
Trent Reznor is a musical god.
okay. "the downward spiral: live" beats the crap out of all the other NIN live DVD's, no question. :D
Anyone notice that one guitar riff sounds almost exactly like My Sharona? Never noticed it to this performance
@TunerLegend17
uh, one word . . . Vrenna
Looks like just the neck of a tenor sax.
NIN actually played 10 more songs after playing the whole "Downward Spiral" album.
@daakins
true.
They played the whole The Downward Spiral and then they played like 60% of there usual setlist afterwards.
Fuckin epic
@daakins Maybe, but that isn't saxophone Trent. Purest Feeling is saxophone Trent!
@davidkrod it's not as bad ass "OMG PLAY HURT, JOHNNY CASH 4EVER"
It was appropriate.
trent can play anything apparently :)
so that wasn't bees...it was a kazoo they played!
trent's horn. he likes to toot on it.
@cooliovasquez Wow, Internet Tough Guy right here.
NIN = 0 dislikes
11*
-sorry-
i think it's the neck of a saxaphone
@TheNineinchsnails a sax reed
It's a saxophone reed, dude...
BBrrrreak you...
Yeah, but the performance of March of the Pigs was lame cause i dont think they played the extended ending. The performance of the song closer sucked too cause they played "The Only Time" version instead of how they originally played it.
