    Dude, this is simply amazing. Your performance, musical abilities and creativity are incredible! And the SE80 panel you built is amazing, it truly makes the Peak feel so alive! Quick question, what's being modulated at 17:08-18:07 by the S&H (ie what slider function)? Also, is this all Peak reverb?
    Anyway, fantastic work all around. Thanks for sharing this with us, do keep us posted if you ever get around to making some small batches. Cheers!

      Thank you sir. The settings I changed on the panel are the Filter Resonance , LFO speed, the LFO to pitch and the LFO to FilterFreq. The extreme effect is probably caused by having a high Resonance in combination with a high speed LFO modulating the filter and pitch. I'd really love to develop a small batch sometime. But I just got a bunch of kids and time is sparse. Maybe if they start going to school I'll have some time again. :) Oh... and I forgot to mention. No , all the reverb is from a plugin (Native Instruments Replika). I don't like recording reverb. It gave me a lot of regret in the past.

      A man can dream. I'd love to make a batch of those things. I still need to learn how to make PCB's.

      Tbh I'm not putting it on there because I'm afraid people will demand I sell my prototype. I wish I could simply roll out a batch. But I'd be afraid of all the angry emails I'd get if they keep breaking.

      @@skrie I know what you mean. Ever heard about of the dutch Tasty Chips GR-1. ua-cam.com/video/1RWOoEj3mwU/v-deo.html . On paper it is the best thing since sliced bread but as soon as you go beyond surface scouting with the presets it is so full of bugs that I made them take it back under the threat of legal action. One can however sell stuff with the right disclaimers. Maybe only provide the software, an empty circuit board and the housing. Stuff like that. But there will indeed always be some hassle. A few people have even asked me if I want to make my Janko convertors available. The market would however be totally insignificant. Too weird!

      @skrie  3 роки тому

      @@marcbrasse747 Exactly. Even if I managed to design a good working circuitboard...And it somehow all worked for an affordable price... There'd still be only 20 buyers tops. :) It's just too big an enterprise. Making prototypes is fun... but manufacturing needs a bigger market. If I do everything by hand , this thing would need to cost €1000,- just to make up for my labor.Which would of course be ridiculous. If I would be a buyer... I think I'd pay €150/200,- max and I'd still think it's expensive :P

      @@skrie Yep, if I would have to handbuild Janko's like I did it myself they would have to cost between Eu 1000 and Eu 2000 if I would have to increase the manufacturing standard to anyhting that people are nowadays used to. Nearer to 2000 if I really wanted to make some money on it. What I am playing is in fact a very rough proof of concept version that has been torn apart and reassembled a few times to improve it. How many would I sell. 1 or 2? If any! It's a bit like with my Son Of GX proejct. There I simply put all the information on my website and anybody who is crazy enough can try it himself. 5 I know of including mine and I have no idea how many actually (still) work.

      Yea too bad the ball was on there too. But at least Disney sells their license to anyone who is willing to print. And that's why I have nice curtains.

    This is brilliant. I just read your thread about this device on mod wiggler. Can I ask how you are getting the midi from both the keyboard and the SE80 controller into the peak? It only has one midi input right? My next question is how can I buy one from you

    • @MrLanka-ud8wl
      @MrLanka-ud8wl 3 роки тому

      I recently built a variable stereo Oberheim style SEM filter for my Peak. Trying to get sort of an Oberheim sound without actually buying an Oberheim. Here's a short demo ua-cam.com/video/WzgCq00ZDX8/v-deo.html

    • @skrie
      @skrie  3 роки тому

      Thx. There's multiple ways to get the midi in. One would be to connect the controller to the midi-thru gate on whatever keyboard you are using. The other way, and this is how I do it, is simply route them all into your computer and sent the combined midi out to the Peak. As for selling: I'm uncomfortable making any promises. There was too much soldering involved in my prototype , so building them and selling them like that is just not feasible. Also since I'm an amateur ,there'd be bugs. ;) The way things are right now I just don't have the time to design and create a line of devices that would be profitable for me, and affordable for the buyer. But if I ever get around to it I'll make sure everyone who's ever shown an interest will be first in line to get one.

      It's really cool to be able to enhance the filter on the Peak. I really wish they'd added another filter to the Synth itself.

    The more I watch your demos the more I want a controller like that for my synths (actually the Blofeld is the only one which can read poly a.t.)
    Do you have a script for poly/dual a.t. ?

      This link is from the Reaper forum where I found the Reaper Script that fakes Poly AT by taking the channel aftertouch value and sending it as Poly AT on the last played note. So, for this one Reaper needs to be your DAW. But perhaps there's similar addins for other DAWs. I don't know. I've not used it since I got my Hydrasynth, which finally gave me real Poly AT.
