So the BA not only refused to ensure government promise of housing was supported they actively fought it and prevented its implementation. How utterly stupid.
I would like to see some serious economic investment in both communities of Northern Ireland to give the peace process a chance.Problem being any investors are made nervous by the threat of extortion by paramilitary organisations I would be very cautious.Therein is the root instigator of conflict poverty injustice social discrimination or discontent.There are no fast solutions to the problems of the province even if the nationalists succeeded in all out civil war resulting in a United ireland same problem economic deprivation.The former ira volunteer asked what was it all about it was a waste of time and life.It’s been a dirty war awful atrocities committed by both sides both communities have deep rooted traditions I believe if both communities had jobs a decent life peace may stand a better chance.

I'm kind of glad I'm old enough to be dead in 50 years. With we are learning about ALL of our governments, man... I don't know know WHAT we will be listening to then. Covid stories, Ukrainian cover ups, the freaking elections... With all the secret stuff that has eventually come to surface, like the pentagon papers, swift boat, the BS WMD stories... 50 years from now? I don't know.

Fascinating documentary of a time I lived through, but never fully understood. My eyes are only truly opening now.
