Ace Ventura (PC) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 жов 2016
- A playthrough of 7th Level's 1996 graphic adventure for PCs running Windows 3.1/95, Ace Ventura.
I always thought this was such a cool game. Granted, the humor doesn't hit me as hard now as it did when I was 14, but if you like the Ace Ventura Pet Detective style of totally stupid but somehow hilarious humor (read: teen boy levels of sexual innuendo everywhere), this will make you laugh hard. What other game had a title screen featuring the main character Tarzan-yelling with his butt?
It looks fantastic and mimics the cartoon's look nicely (it's quite similar in style to 7th Level's fighting game Battle Beast), and the acting is pretty spot on. It's an easy and short-lived game, but quite a memorable one. I just wish that they hadn't forced the irritating action segments. I really disliked those.

Impeccable voice acting. Not the easiest to impersonate Jim Carrey.
I Trevelyan I
Just sucks that Carrey couldn’t get in on this one and instead went with the 3D one.

@@JacOfAllTrades. What 3D game did he get in on now ?
Is it bad that I perfer Michael Daingerfield's over Jim Carrey's? Carrey is amazing, and is the reason that Ace is Ace, so I'm not saying that Carrey is in anyway bad. However, Daingerfield enhances what Carrey did, by feeling more expressive and cartoony. I miss Daingerfield's ace so much, and I wish there was more of him
Vaguely remember playing this.
In the cartoon, there was a crossover episode with the Mask, seeing Stanley and Ace together was meta/awesome for Jim Carrey fans everywhere.
Good game but I think for Point & Clicks based on cartoons. Beavis & Butthead Virtual Stupidity and Duckman were my favourites.
Those two The Mask and Ace Ventura are in the same crossover with two episodes the aceman cometh and have mask will travel
It really pisses me off when companies decide to turn a TV Series into a Video Game and they always seem to think the best fit is either a FPS or a Platformer.
I'm glad to see that 7th Level had the common sense to have Ace Ventura as a Point 'N' Click Adventure
Matt Thornton I wouldnt mind this as a platformer.
But yes, i like this game. Too bad they didn't make more of these.
There was also a Duckman adventure game.
7th level was all about that sweet animation. Too bad everything was like 2 frames per second.
Does anyone even make point and click adventure games anymore?
Companies go with whatever is popular at the time. In the mid 90s, point-and-click adventures were all the rage. In the early 2000s, third person 3D open-world was considered the absolute peak. I'm sure when considering adapting a property today, the first thing they'd probably suggest is "Hey, let's make it a Battle Royale, those are super popular right now!"
This game looks like fun, I love Jim Carrey and both Ace movies and the Ace Ventura cartoon. I wish I would've had the chance to play Ace Ventura it looks cool.
I remember even in the movie, there was alot of sexual innuendo jokes in there that you will finally understand when you get older :D
I'm kinda surprised there even was a kid's show considering both films had obviously adult humor. Just like there was a Dumb and Dumber cartoon based on a movie with jokes about rape and selling a dead bird to a blind kid.
"If I'm not back in 5 minutes I'm thinking about baseball" is one of the better examples of getting crap past the radar I've heard in a long time.
@@IsmailofeRegime late reply as I didn't know I got a reply. Well 80 and 90 was weird in that violent action movies get a kid adaption with toys. Like Robocop and Rambo. Ninja Turtles the most successful adult action comic turn kid friendly. Also dont forget Toxic Crusader too
@@HiddenInTheTruth As a Kid watching the scene of Rhino birthing scene was hilarious but getting older I understod why the dad was vomiting
You gotta give it credit for having unique animation keys and accurate mouth movements.

when did they play this game? Can't find the video
@@NecroxProduction
Idk either. Lol.
Their video just popped up on my feed here'
I remember playing the demo for this.
I had this game years ago I was forever stuck on that totem pole puzzle. I even remembered the music in the background lol
Cartoon Ace cracks me up. He is way more funnier than Movie Ace.
So many good memories with this game, thanks for creating this video!
It's a lot of fun the first time, but the jokes do wear a bit thin after that. Still, Ace Ventura is a pretty memorable experience, complete with butt singing!
Would've been more interesting if you removed the parental controls ;-)
Harder daddy
NintendoComplete It's like watching another Ace Ventura movie.
Did Ace just say "fuck" around the shoppers website segment or is it just me?
Wow the cartoon got a game? I know back then that was very common even for short lived shows but I remember this ran on Nickelodeon in the mid 90's for like a month and it was never aired anywhere ever again (at least in the US anyway). I am sure it probably got DVD releases at some point but without hunting for them online, I never saw them in stores even to this day. I'm sort of blown away right now.
I havent seen this for a long time ... I played this game when I was a little kid. We had so much fun with ace’s cooling his butt with snow....
i think a big chunk of my childhood was being stuck on that totem pole section.
Brings back memories. I got stuck on the totem pole part as a kid. Damn I tried it so many times
me too lmao that fucking totem
Ace sounds remarkably like Matt Frewer in this game...
Thanks for the playthrough, it's awesome!
the part from 49:00 - 59:00 was on the shareware CD and I played it over and over and over! so many of the lines in this are ingrained in my head and are a part of me lol
I remember the demo of this game sequence too... i think it was on a "pc games" cd-rom or some other magazine... played it over and over again caus it was so funny... recently bought a copy of the full game and played through it finally :)
God I remember this game ....I played the demo for it.....I used to buy the 1-$5 discs that gave u like 20/50/100 demos on them and I played them for hours ......I used to love the point and click adventures.....still do love playing King's Quest for ps4 and Monkey Island games on pc lol
1:29:38 The look on his face when he heard that come from Ace's mouth.
No one should have as much swagger as this here man . . .
You know... I remember very little of watching this show as a kid? But I remember liking it.
30 minutes in, and I want access to a time machine to slap younger me across the face.
this game is amazing. Used to play it in the past. Great times!
Neato! I've only known about the cartoon and movies, but never heard of a game of this.
Ace Ventura?
AAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL Righty then.
I wanna play this again... Haven't played it since I was eight...
Yay?
I never knew there was a game for ACE FREAKIN VENTURA😍
I used to play this as a kid back in the day 😎
Wow I remember the demo to this game 🤣 happy to see the whole thing played out👍🏼
Sabrina The Animated Series?
@@pedrocampos1787 Sabrina?? No the Ace game that’s featured in this video.
50:35 Coming through people! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaa
I didn’t know there was an ace Ventura game, This is great
The game is based on Ace Ventura: Pet Detective: The Animated Series
Ace Ventura is hilarious
Amazing game and very well done for it's time
This is the first I've ever head of an Ace Ventura game
1:49:27 "No great tuner sings out his butt"😅😅😅
Gotta love ace ventura.
Wow... Memories !
This game was amazing I had the pc version, wish they made more games like this.....
deponia, monkey island, my personal favorites
I love this game!
Hey! I watched this show, he was my favorite.
I've played this game! :D it was a lot of fun from what i can remember, but i got stuck about mid way I think. I watched the show a lot and liked the movies, man so much fun with those. xD
Yeeeeeeaaaahhh.
This and Small Soldiers: Squad Commander were my childhood, does anyone know if this will run on Windows 10?
Honestly if he doesn't pay rent/bills, then he'll end up on the streets.
53:20 I'm really interested to know, where the "press" password come from?
Piece of paper in the trash bin inside de cabin
They made an Ace Ventura game on PC and I'm learning about this now?
1:07:01 “my Spider senses are tingling”
This is so great. Although the music is buggy near the end of the game, and there's a lot of bugs near the end too. Otherwise, not too bad.
7:50-8:04 Whew! Do NOT! And I mean NOT in the worst possible way go in there! Never… ever… ever… EVER!!!
90's humor at its finest.
1:47:59 is one of the best moments in the game
Where can I find the ending song? ;)
Tarzan yells.
who was the voice actor? pretty spot on..
Michael Daingerfield, I think this is one of his first big gigs, hes voiced tons of other characters since then
how are you playing this game? Is there a way to play it on new pcs? and if you have to play it on an old pc...how are you recording it? please help lol
*AAAAAAAAALLLLLLLRIGHTY THEN!!!*
Why is this game not on Steam or GOG?
How many of these characters were actually from the cartoon?
This was based off of the cartoon!
Well that was a trip.
The song at the end, why haven't they put it on iTunes, Spotify, Deezer or some other music sharing thing, it's so good!
Here's to nostalgia!
1:55:04
ace ventura invented goatse
What?! Ace just killed a guy, and then he starts singing with his butt, yet no adult says nothing about this game?
1:36:47
Never beat that puzzle
But got a glitch and went instantly to final boss
Idk what i did
SAME, I think if you saved in the stage the first time while you're still trapped and tried to reload that, you ended in the final boss. This is my first time actually seeing the game properly finished.
Como faço para adquirir este jogo completo?
was that a glitch near the end? the hell was going on?
I'm not sure, I feel like the end bit of that last fight probably did glitch. It doesn't really make sense to have two animations of ace passing side by side, but I redid that scene a couple of times and it did the same. I'm guessing a game or a video driver bug
Hey cool?
Ookkkay?
Nice game play! :0) say where you using a real windows 3.1? if not how playing this game?
hi im using windows 3.1 and dosbox but im not getting any of the background audio only the voice
what version of the game are you using
coming through pepole waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

1:36:49 - I Always Hate/Despise THIS Mini-Game!! It take me... God, I dont wanna remember...
Ctrl+W for the rescue
The game is good, but had to use a virtual machine to playing and was annoying a lot of times, like, the mouse didn't work very well, and a lot of strange bugs (for example, at 1:36:15 it didn't let me to use the armor, I was like half an hour trying things until I searched the solution, came here and discover that the game was bugged, like closing and opening solved, but if i hadn't known that that was the solution, I couldn't keep playing, because Ace only told me that I was wrong, and didn't seem like a bug)
Hey Nintendo i'm still trying too get this game too work on my DosBox Emulator but i can't seem too get the mouse working in Windows 3.1 i'm using DOSbox 0.74 and i did install Win 3.1 in DosBox Emulator. But sadly i still can't get the mouse too get it on Is there anyway you can help me out dude?
+ArizVega Gamer Hmm I don't think I've ever had an issue with the mouse. I'd check to make sure that you have the mouse enabled in the configuration file, and make sure that you have a mouse driver loaded (in Dos you can do it from the config.sys file and it'll autoload on boot). If the mouse wasn't enabled when you installed Windows, I'd also run setup.exe from c:\windows and check to make sure everything there is set. Hope that helps!
This game also requires a SVGA adapter, so make sure you have a Windows driver installed for that (requires 256 colors at 640x480). I was using Dosbox's emulated S3 SVGA card in this vid.
+ArizVega Gamer Oh I'd also recommend Dosbox Daum instead of the official version. It has a lot of useful features not in the regular version like support for voodoo gfx and mt32 music built-in, and a full menu.
NintendoComplete Oh okay so i was using an old DosBox Emulator then ok so i try too use DosBox Daum is that way better then the official version of DosBox emulator? Plus i never try too use Fraps on DosBox emualtor the funny thing is that i can use fraps for Sega Genesis Emulator but not Snes9x for some odd reason... FRAPS does not like Snes9x emulator
ArizVega Gamer I prefer it over the original, it's a big improvement. You don't need Fraps for Dosbox though. It you hit ctrl+alt+f5 it captures video and audio for you. It's also nice because the output won't stutter like the emulator itself if you are trying to emulate too powerful of a machine. It always outputs full speed for the specs you're emulating.
NintendoComplete Yes i did try out the new DOSBOX Emulator and i have too say it's really good too use although i was having a bit of trouble in Win.3.1 not the mouse the mouse and keyboard work great. It just i do not know how too run the ACE.EXE. file. But it is okay i happen too run cross my mothers Dell laptop computer she was very nice too let me play games on it. The computher is from like 2003/04 running OS WINXP but it is bit slow but it still plays the old games good and plus i use her 16.gb flash drive that she had. So what i did was i put ace Ventura pc game on too the 16gb flash drive and run the game off from WINXP on her DELL LAPTOP... -___- ugh man i hate DELL computers dude but it is best now in days too have a custom Computer. But i never forget the horror shows i had with DELL computers. Back then Computers where not stable like how it is today.
Ace Ventura pet dectetive.
I hope nightmare of ace ventura 😟😧😥
How can i save the game ?
This exists?
I'm pretty sure the voice of ace in this is the real Jim Carrey bc it sounds pretty legit
Nope, Michael Hall, though it is a damn good impression.
Or where using DOSbox?
Dosbox
NintendoComplete Oh okay cool!
wait, so it isn't jim carrey?
AlwaysHarmony It never was.

hmm, this animations remind me series of game about pink panther...
Was this based off of the show?
master drew t Of course it was. Haven’t you ever watched it on CBS and Nickelodeon?
Garth Davis well I have watched cbs and nick in my day, but I’ve never heard about the show or the game
Although I’ve heard jim carry plays as him
And I guess you could say that I am sort of knowing the show I suppose
@@garthdavis4320 Nickelodeon brought me to Ace, no 12 months of him there was so bad news.

Alrighty then
I hated the totem part!
Odd game. It has innuendoes so they must've expected adults to play it, but most of the humor is very dorky stuff that'd only be funny to a little kid.
Too bad this doesn't run in scummvm.
Wait, CHEATS? What kind of cheats can be used on a fucking point and click game?
EDIT: I can see there could be cheats to skip the minigames now. Nevermind.
Yeeeees.
The Game looks nice, but the action sequences are just terrible, feels like some macromedia flash app around 96´, those sluggish physics and choppy framerate LOL
Dude... it's a game from 1996, what did you expect.
@@Dustie1984 I think he was expecting a God Of War action...
@@Dustie1984 We had Leisure Suit Larry 7: Love for Sail in '97 just a year later and it looked far better than this.
