Breaking 44 always does a number on him. Like he needs medical attention after dipping bellow 44. Kirani James kind of hinted that going below 44 is a reason many men stick around in the 400.

@@centurytuna100 Yes its same venue - you can say he ran in the B race - since he did not qualify for the main 400m event. This is his 6th 400m race ( including the World Championships) in 2022 and about his 12 th race ( over the last 5 years ) since he pick up,the injury in 2017. He is gradually working his way back to the top where he belongs.
Spitz from Switzerland has some insane speed endurance holy cow. And he looks like he's barely done growing despite being 21 years of age. Definitely a name to remember
It means the main athletics event is the Wanda Daimond league which program includes all the main events for the evening- eg: womens 100m , mens 200m , mens 400m. Wayde v NK took part in the 400m pre program race - his race took place before the main program of events ( races ) started. Its like the curtain raiser game before the main football match. I hope I have explained myself clearly.
He had a kid as well and moved coaches, also do you understand how long it takes to get into 43 shape after muscle deteriorates. Years man at least 3 solid ones of training. Plus he has nagging injuries during the recovery process holding him back further
He had to patiently managed his injuries to preserve his athletics career.Let's assume he started training and taking part in competitions one year after his injury and he aggravates the his knee injury again .He then start training and competing again only to get injured again - he may end up destroying his athelicts career being plagued with a knee injury. He did the right thing to carefully managed his injuries compete and compete conservatively , recover fully and gradually build him self up to championship form for 2023 and the Olympic in 2024 .

An extra event, this 400m runners never had enough points to run the final, He started mid season.
