Ideal size for just carrying bits and bobs (power bank, earbuds, swiss army knife, etc), not too bulky to draw attention so can wear just every day or on holiday. I've got 2, one in black for EDC and coyote for on holiday.

Greetings from Greece!Great review! I have the bandicoot one for a year now. I have to agree that it tilts forward when you wear it and it's quite annoying. I don't know how the elastic loops are holding up on yours but mine hold up only a couple of months (the elasticity didn't hold up) so I had to get the loop panel out and use the bag without it. Also the male buckle snapped in about 6 months of light use( mostly carrying my edc around town).
have both waist packs. day to day its the possum. when you need more carry then in comes the bandicoot.
Nice review, Would be nicer with a wider strap, say 1.5 inch. That would help carry heavier loads. I think I'm going to order one.
Couldn't agree more. Even a step up from 25mm to 35mm would help a lot. I think their main thing was around the options for buckles and flat hooks/g hooks. With a 25mm snap clasp, folk can easily swap them out if needs be... However I'm definitely with you on this one. The extra thickness would helps. Have a great week buddy 👍

Hey man, i have this ordered to use as an ifak. You reckon its gonna hold the essentials and maybe a bit extra or is it gonna be a tight fit? Like a couple of gauze, one or two compressive bandages, chest seals, space blanket and a bunch of other stuff.

M-Tac brand is half the price on Amazon and it’s identical.
The list price in the US is $38 if it's in stock; which most colors are out of stock. In the US both the Bandicoot & Possum list for the same price. The majority of Helicon-Tex items are not in stock in the US, at this time. Ordering from other countries to the US is possible (mainly from Poland); at a higher price point with shipping not included. I ordered the Bandicoot version. which has the rear interior wall covered in (Hook & Loop / Velcro); to attach various items. like holsters or other EDC items. Hopefully what ever stock issues that Helicon-Tex is having get resolved soon. All reviews of their products that I have heard about are very positive.
As it happens, I did get to speak with Helikon at IWA this year. The stock issues is mainly around the cordura and materials. It's a two part issues. Firstly, the the one thing that's great to see is that they just can't make them fast enough and there's a shortage in materials.They're looking to expand their manufacturing plant to get more out. It's always great to see success stories like theirs. The second one that was implied and I've read between the lines on this, is the issues that are happening in Ukraine. It's definitely having a knock on effect in their products (materials, man power etc). Hopefully this will be resolved however I'm not sure how quickly this will happen. I thin the stock issues are a bit of a bitter/sweet mix
I'd also check out Military 1st from here in the UK. They ship world wide and from what I hear their shipping costs aren't ridiculous. If you're an Amazon customer too, you can change your location from the US to the Uk and buy from there. Amazon see their international stock levels and an advantage to everybody. It'll recognise you're from the US and tell you if there's any shipping or duty charges. Buying form the UK and US Amazon is even easier now we're not part of the EU. Had mine for years - very well designed and quality,I really like it.
Mine doesn’t have the keepers in the main compartment,it has hook and loop - I think it might be the Bandicoot? Otherwise it’s the same.
Hi RPN, agreed on that completely. Helikon Tex are going from strength to strength with their gear. I can't remember now if I added the insert. I think that did come separately
Bandicoot has got a removable organizer inlet via hook and loop. Possum has got a fixed organizer (and is a bit smaller).

He says at around 1:45 that it's stamped YKK. Basically any zipper you've ever used in your life has YKK stamped on it, to my understanding they're basically THE manufacturer for zippers

Hi, thanks for the review, I loved it and bought it (I haven't received it yet), you think it's a good idea to use it in the backpack (for example rush 12 5.11) on the shoulder strap (pass the backpack strap, where The belt is passed in the possum, for if you are walking, it is easily accessible and perhaps it is a more comfortable way to wear it, thank you very much, your channel is very much enjoyed.

Thanks for the review! The colour in the video looks close to the Tasmanian Tiger khaki. Would that be right (and what colour is it)? I’m trying to match off to my Essential Pack as close as possible!
That's a good question. Do you have the grafite essential pack (which is like OD green) or the coyote tan? I think this would definitely go with the graphite (green) and this one is adaptive green from Helikon Tex. Hope this helps
@@MoorlanderEDC ...thanks for the quick reply! It's listed on the main TT website as "khaki", and looks to be a tone lighter than the "coyote-brown". Might be different names in different markets (I'm in Australia). In real life (and that's where your stuff is awesome) it's a lot darker than the website photo and has more of a greenish tinge than brown. Any guidance appreciated!!

I use this everyday when walking the hounds and it's like new. Climbing through tree, walking through bracken and bramble, in the wet or dry... And it's like new. Highly recommended 👍 hope that helps MAU. thanks for watching and commenting

@@gorki90 yes, that's right, however they're essentially the same waist pack. Luckily this was just about how durable it is. Both packs are made from the same material. You're spot on though. The Possum was returned and I still have my Bandicoot... That's when I can tear it away from my wife 🤣

Could make a good bag for holding one of my pistols when I cannot put on my person sometimes on a hot Florida day and I’m wearing shorts with no pockets or belt option.
Definitely. Next week I'll review the Bandicoot. It's a bit bigger and has a little more option for CCW. I might get some dummy training rubber guns to show size comparisons... Might be for future reviews though. Thanks for watching buddy
I believe Bandicoot would do better for that, it has a velcro panel inside (comes with an organizer similar to the one shown here on the Possum, but you could replace it with a velcro holster. Helikon makes at least two velcro holster models in their VIS line, and there are other producers on the market, too).

Can this be attached to a belt
Hi Colton, yes, there's a pass through on the back of the pack for a belt to pass through. If you wanted to add it to rucksack waist belt or even a sternum strap, it's possible. I hope this helps. Have a great week

You can use it for both EDC and CCW. The pistol can fir within the main compartment with the hook and loop panel on the back. If you're after a pouch for a CCW, the Helikon-Tex Rat is another option. This was designed specifically for CCW - ua-cam.com/video/90glDL6RZs4/v-deo.html

use it for 2 years until now. inside my possum got tactical wallet c.m.c maxpedition,leatherman 300 ,fenix t5 tactical pen, cold steel tuff lite knife (small size) and for the light i prefer rapid PL flashlight 5.11.... actually i buy this possum just for my baby glock but it's not suitable for carrying the gun at all..!!!! so sad.. so i am going for the plan B, now my possum become to my EDC..!!!
