    I bought the Shadow grey/black haversack from Military 1st, and added a same colour Helikon organiser to attach to the velkro in the outer pocket. The single brew Thrudark flask fits perfectly in the bottle holder, also good for a glasses case.
    Perfect EDC bag or for taking bits into work. When it's full I think I wouldn't want anything heavier hanging off one shoulder so I'd use one of my Osprey cycling packs.
    The Satchel looks like something I'd buy for a day out on the beach, if you're not taking much but have something bulky like a beach towel. More room but you're not carrying anything too heavy.
    For something like that I currently have the Maxpedition fold up bucket bag, same colour as the above again, grey man!

    I added the SERE pouch and the Dump pouch to each for quick access small items and for water bottles. Great bags!

    I've both.
    I would like to swap the buckle on the Haversack for a magnet or buckle like those at the end of the shoulder straps.
    I'd like to swap the Net pocket in the Satchel for a finer net or just plain fabric. The net is larger gauge and it catches on things a lot.
    Besides those 2 changes, I love them.

    No doubt the satchel is more versatile- able to store clothing, hats, towels, as well as gear of any kind. The haversack is a wondrous little bag- that was flawed, for me, by the front catch, which was just too twiddly for me to flow into. Shame, cuz the rest of the haversack was spot on. Another great vid, Moorlander, keep hitting them out of the park!

    Both superb. Own and use both frequently. The Haversack is perfect for organising cook kit, knife, axe, 1st aid kit and bits and bobs you want handy when camping. Satchel is the ultimate man beach bag, holds a load. Have even done overnighters with it in the woods. Great vid as normal, thanks. Still watched it even though I own them. Check out the Carry All Back up bag too. Same as Satchel just lighter and packs smaller.

    I use a bit of karrimat behind the mesh in the satchel. Used mostly for fishing and shopping - needs a wash. Ok for hand luggage on cheap flights too. Thanks, like your presentation style.

    Pro tip for satchel: folding foam sitting pad (the one with four parts. Fold it in half and put inside main compartment under the mesh pocket. It's perfect size for it, holds well and doesn't move, held by this mesh pocket and two side pockets. Adds structure and now you have the back lining.

    I use the satchel every day as a urban bag, it's my shopping bag, when go to the supermarket I carry inside the Savotta Jääkäri S, and the combination is perfect.
    The haversack is smaller an go to my field trips, I don't carry the water inside, I combine it with a canteen inside my HELIKON-TEX Essential KitBag

    I actually ordered the haversack and by mistake they send me the satchel. I e-mailed the shop and they replied that they were sorry for the mistake and I could just send it back and they would send me the satchel, but at the time they replied I wanted the satchel instead which I told them. They wrote me again and said that since I was a repeat costumer I would get both. (I spend too much money on all this outdoor stuff).
    The satchel is really big - just informing those that consider it - but it's worth it.

    Claymore bag became my all time absolute favourite EDC bag after watching your review. Before that I've been using the Helikon-Tex EDC side bag for years.

      I was going to add the claymore to this content however decided last minute to just stick with the Bushline products. I have a collection of claymore bags for some future content

    I tried the Satchel several times (and others with the same cut) - it's a great bag, but for me it's unusable. If you have to carry several heavier items, you a) can't find anything in that bag and you will b) break your back. The Haversack is *much* better in my opinion. They should make a Haversack with a larger flap and i'm in heaven. ^^ 🤩

    i have the claymore bag (in DNC) and the satchel (in Tigerstripe) i use the claymore bag as a respawn bag for Airsoft, and the satchel is my EDC when i dont need a gym bag.

    I prefer (and I have) the satchel. Nothing to change except that I would like a future version with an aquaguard zipper

    5.11 Rush Delivery LIMA. I am currently looking at also buying a haversack in the form of a Zulu Nylon Gear Indy Satchel (a take on the Mk IV gas mask satchel). To bring out my inner Dr Jones in the shopping centre.. 😂

    The clip is called a Spanish buckle and was used on the PLCE webbing from the early 90's. Satchel for me because like you I carry far too much. The Haversack just looks like a respirator case but would do well attached to a waist belt on a H harness for sundries.

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes, it does have the kind of respirator bag style to it. It's very close to a Claymore bag with a few more bells and whistles. I'm thinking of picking up some PLCE webbing to test out on Moorlander Tactical. Airsoft is the most I can put through it but would be cool to do a retrospective style piece of content. I might make a post on the Community tab closer to the date to hear any first hand feedback from ex-servicemen and women that used them back then

      @@MoorlanderEDC I used it for 18 years of my 20 years service. It was good, together with assault vests and Airborne bergans. A retro video would be great.

    The haversack speaks to me, especially when i do alot of air travel and need my gadgets. I just wished there was a velcro panel on the flap.

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC  2 місяці тому +1

      That would have been a brilliant addition so you didn't have to keep closing the buckle everytime. I'm sure a decent seamstress could modify that with ease

    Think your referring to the PLCE Webbing that the British military used to use. Had the spanish fly buckles.
    The Desert DPM Molle sssault vest i was issued in 2009 for Afghan had the same buckles as the Bushcraft Haversack with the two little "levers" (?) on the bottom of the buckle strap.
    Very difficult to open quickly with gloves on

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC  3 місяці тому

      Yes,hatthe one. Yes, it's a similar buckle. I can imagine having used that you're a wizard at closing it with a single hand 😂

    Why you have three Satchels? Can you please explain?

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC  3 місяці тому +2

      The short answer is because I'm a magpie :D I love this bag so much I spotted two other camo colours and had to have them. I use one of the Pencott camo bag when I'm airsofting, and I use the other M85 camo for EDC.

    Interesting stuff. The satchel is very simple. The haversack is a bit complicated. Every time I see the new gear, the older I feel. 😮
    I'm still using the G.I. musette bag circa 1941 that my father carried in China and Burma in WWII. And he gave it to me in the late 1960s to use in Vietnam. And I still use it today. I suppose I'm just one that doesn't give up on gear that has a little wear on it.😂
    Yup, I feel old. Think I'm going to take a nap. 😴
    Great reviews on this gear. You do strive to keep abreast on all things related to EDC. Thanks!👍🫡

      My granddad had a similar bag that he carried with him in Malaysia and Singapore. He was in the force that helped to liberate Changi Jail from the Japanese and used it to take in food for the people in there. It was his go to side bag when he'd take us on adventures around North Wales. It just shows how well a lot of those packs were made
