Thank you so much for uploading this! I had the VHS as a kid and watched it hundreds of times. I grew up in Denmark and had just taken an interest in English football the year before. I immediately fell for the exciting football of Liverpool, so on a family holiday to London, I picked up some LFC gear, including this VHS and some of those little Corinthians figures. I remember getting Fowler, McManaman, Shearer, and Schmeichel, and I think Redknapp.
I still think this was an amazing team; one of the best we've had in my nearly 30 years as a Liverpool fan, and they were unlucky not to win more. Certainly one of the best to watch.
Fowler is still my favourite player of all time, along with Michael Laudrup, and he was totally unstoppable at the time. Absolutely lethal with both feet and his head, quick, fantastic technique, an eye for a pass, and outstanding positional awareness. He was unfortunate with some bad injuries and some coaches who preferred other options, but he could've been the best striker in the world.
Anyway, thank you again, this era will always be special to me
One of my fave seasons in the 90s. Cried though when we lost the FA Cup Final.

Possibly my favourite season as a Liverpool fan. Despite it ending in the worst disappointment imaginable at Wembley, the journey getting there was worth it. The Liverpool Man U rivalry was ramped up to 11. I just wish Fergie allowed his team to play football instead of chess in the cup final because the league games between us that season had been electric! Fowler, Collymore and McManaman were terrorising defences and scoring for fun. Granted, our defence was an absolute joke. Even if The Spice Boys tag was meant as a pejorative, it felt good to be a fashionable team again.

@@fergietime5328 yes it was bloody terrible final. That liverpool 95/96 team was littered with talent but that doesn't always guarantee trophies. The goalkeeper and defence let them down badly

David James was terrible in goal. 29:35 😮Evan's thought he had a "fantastic season". He was one of the main reasons our season failed. No wonder he couldn't win the title, with that complacency.
