Hello :) Thank you for many great lessons :) As e understand the haftone/ midtone is the transition between light and dark. When you go to the next value up, do you in there use some of the darker color you used in the value before ?
synnøve, that depends upon what you are looking at. For the most part, on the light side of the transition between light and dark also indicates that portion of an image moving out of shadow into light. That also indicates that the color not in shadow will be warmer, so observation is your key here.
Helpful. Invaluable. Thanks sooo much.
You're very welcome!
This really helped me finally understand the value relationship, thank you.
Wonderful!
Very well explained!! I always find your videos useful and informative!! Thank you.

So very helpful - thank you, Dianne!
Always a pleasure.
This is like a head tapper-belly rubber. Need to get my head wrapped around this one. Best explanation ever Dianne. Practice here I come.
Go for it!

Please tell me what you do with your left over paint on your pallet
Around the outside edges of the palette, I leave any paint I don't use. I like having all the colors in site while I am working.
Thank you for the lesson
Does it not dry out?
Not while your are working.
