I have heard many renditions of John Williams Star wars music from several of the highest levels orchestras in the world...that Danish National Symphony is by far the most heartfelt and evocative of the love that I felt in that cinematic universe for it's characters and story.
I think it captures the revelation and realization between of a couple characters' (Luke and Leia's) special relationship that they both hadn't realized until that moment in the movie. With the prequels taken into account, its almost like a wound opened up by Anakin's fall begins to truly heal.
Not to be overtly religious on a non-religious video but there is something divinely inspirational how humans can read musical notes and remain in unison for this. This is so complex and beautiful only the Creator can do.
I have no idea why this theme wasn’t put into ROTJ in a complete way. Only a small section of this theme was put into the movie, but it remains a theme capable of showing us a bridge between Leia and Luke’s theme. It is truly amazing.
I watched the film in concert version of ROTJ and heard this come in at the moment when Leia grasps what Luke’s saying about the force in his family and I just CRIED.
French horn- gorgeous, crystal clear. Oboe, flute- so lilting, full of love. Could John Williams be the most psychologically profound and genre-spanning composer ever? I wonder. He’s got my vote.
One of the most gorgeous sounding and versatile instruments ever created. Has the ability to sound majestic and adventurous, and also romantic and wistful. I guess a lot of instruments are like that, really, but I just think there’s something magical about the French horn.
As exquisite and faithful a performance as the on-screen original in 1983! My heartiest, most joyful, most appreciative thank you everyone in this presentation!
It's so tough for me to watch this and not think about them, Luke and Leia, how fate, the force brought them together. And of course, Carrie. Gone...too soon
Or as Dr. McCoy says to Admiral Kirk after Spock is buried on Genesis at the end of The Wrath Of Khan "He's really not dead. As long as we remember him."
Just listening takes me back to when I was a child. When I first watched. Amazing performance. Just by listening I can picture the characters moving🙂❤️
My favourite twin siblings in films, I grew up admiring them and have always been grateful to the actors that portrayed them... I cried a lot in the sequels when Luke kissed Leia in her forehead, I knew it would be the last moment of the actors interacting together as the beloved Luke and Leia 😢. Thank you for this incredible performance ❤.
DNSO. The most stunning orchestra I’ve ever heard. They honor John Williams with this beautiful cover of Luke and Leia’s Theme. I saw the movie Whalen in the mid 70’s it first came out. BEAUTIFUL WELL DONE. DNSO. ❤️👍👍👍
Watching this makes me what to move to Denmark, preferably just up the road from where this orchestra bases itself so I go see them in person every week!
Before she died, Senator Padmé Amidala gave birth to a boy named Luke and a girl named Leia. Obi-Wan Kenobi asked that they be spirited away to protect them from the Sith (Sheev Palpatine and Darth Vader). Yoda advised that the Skywalker twins be separated. Senator Bail Organa and his wife Breha Organa the Queen of Alderaan would adopt Leia, while Obi-Wan Kenobi would take Luke with him to Tatooine before the boy’s relatives Owen and Beru Lars. Luke Skywalker would be trained in the ways of the Jedi like his father Anakin Skywalker while Leia Organa would become a flag bearer for the democratic ideas of liberty and justice like her mother Padmé Amidala. Throughout the early scenes of A New Hope, George Lucas intercut between Luke’s story and Leia’s story. There was a lot going on with the former and little going on with the latter. To fix that, Lucas had to kill off Luke’s carers Owen and Beru Lars, and have him and Obi-Wan meet Han Solo and Chewbacca at the Mos Eisley Cantina and book a ride aboard the Millennium Falcon to the Death Star, thrusting Luke into Leia’s story.
É maravilhoso. É tão profunda que eu sinto um espaço infinito de incertezas, mistério, grandeza e serenidade. Que orquestra disciplinada e maestro aplicado. Meus parabéns.
One of the most poignant melodies of all, across all genres and categories. This piece so exactingly fits the scene in the motion picture that it serves as the perfect encapsulation of music, cinema, and storytelling.

My most enjoyable music is motion picture scores in the classical style. John Williams embodies its apotheosis in scores of examples! John Barry's various movie excursions come to mind, too. Howard Shore's scores for Peter Jackson's cinematic masterpieces of The Lord of the Rings trilogy Extended Edition stand out prominently; I especially cherish his Elven themes for their unsurpassed elegance. I personally enjoy them because my wide vocal range enables me to sing along (though my command of speaking Quenya, Noldorin, etc., is rather lacking). Patrick Doyle's "Harry in Winter" from his score to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005, Warner Bros, Mike Newell) crosses all genres to stand amongst classical music on its own merits! And, of course, Mr. Williams's "Luke and Leia" (Star Wars: Return of the Jedi [1983, 20th Century Fox, Richard Marquand]). You lot of DR Koncerthuset performing this quintessentially poignant melody to your credit have come the closest in execution to what our movie mæstro had wrought, for which you have my deepest thanks. I wish I could share with Mr. Williams my thoughts and feelings on this music, as I elucidate herein. However, all the UA-cam channels featuring his albums have closed their comments. If it is no difficulty, would someone reading this be able to facilitate my effort in this matter, please? Thank you.
Óscar, it’s played twice throughout the movies. The first time that Luke tells Leia that they are brother and sister and that he has to confront Vader. The other time it’s played is the last time they speak to each other in The Last Jedi where he tells her that he has to confront her son.
I know that John Williams frequently used orchestral dissonance in his work, and this rendition is amazing, but the piano at 4:01 - 4:25 just sounds out of place. Rhythmically, tonally, thematically not a good fit here.
This is so underrated and most orchestras don't include it in their performances. But it is so beautiful!
Vale Ntin this is one of my favorites. I guess the original trilogy have the most iconic tracks.
Beautiful yet tragic
Totally agree with that, my personal favourite since I can think of hearing the score for the first time!
An unbelievably beautiful piece of music.
No one writes like Maestro Williams
The complete score is beautiful. Without music, StarWars wouldn’t be what it is.
Williams is a genious.
Do Mara Jade’s theme next.

agree,..
I am 100% sure that this quality was achieved thanks to high-end recording setup during performance
The only better performnce you can get is John Williams directing his hand picked musicians.
@@ПетрКоловратов That's only the final part. The performance has to be great!
fully agree
an underappreciated theme, performed with such love and care... warms my heart
I used to have this on repeat in hospital when I was 12. Still listening at 32.
I cry hearing it. With Carrie, Kenny, and Peter gone I get choked up
THIS, along with the force them and Leia's theme are masterpieces...
As others have mentioned...I feel that this absolutely is the most underrated SW theme. It's actually my favorite of all.
I think it captures the revelation and realization between of a couple characters' (Luke and Leia's) special relationship that they both hadn't realized until that moment in the movie. With the prequels taken into account, its almost like a wound opened up by Anakin's fall begins to truly heal.

One of my favorite pieces from the OST
Not only a great Orchestra but the technical crew, acoustics and recording kit have produced a wonderful sounding recording.
Gosh, the harp at the end almost made me tear up.
That French horn sounds like growing up. Like letting something go that you’ll never get back.

@@lamfam0801 It does the same thing with the Gondor theme from LOTR.

Absolutely one of the most hauntingly beautiful pieces to come from Williams and a galaxy far, far away.

Oh John Williams your melodies are just exquisite. Thank you for every note you’ve ever written! Your music nourishes my soul and brings tears of joy

One of the best in the entire trilogy. Very subtle and stirring
The beginning phrase of this song is incredible. Two notes moving in perfect symmetry.
This is the best song, of the entire universe. 🥰😍
2:30 that strings melody, and the performance... So breathtaking!!!
That's absolutely been my favorite section of the piece, even after all these decades.
You could tell the conductor was really into it
The sweat on his forehead explains it
this piece takes you to orbit and beyond.. absolutely gorgeous performance! bravo!
OMG! My tears! The Orhestra is sOOOOOOOO Good!
Thank you for this beautiful delivery. The term 'beautiful' doesn't quite express what I really think. Your delivery is well beyond that.
Radiant? Ethereal? Rapturous? Just a few words to throw at the feeling this performance evokes to see if they stick.
This theme gives me chills every time!
Yes Sir, on that french horn solo 📯. One of my favorite Star wars pieces and they played it beautifully.
Unbelievable, sounds like something out of a Mahler symphony.

Extraordinary moments... Special and Different MUSIC... Bravo and Bravisimo... PERFECT Orchestra and Conductor...
This wonderfully evocative and hauntingly deep piece along with Leia’s Theme move me with closed eyes to a very wonderful place.
My god, the beauty, sweetness, heartbreak. Wow
Only Star wars theme with a piano. Amazing.
In Empire, Williams uses piano for the battle of Hoth, right? He's using it to represent the slow plodding of the AT-AT walkers.
The piano appears in many tracks
I like the Luke & Leia's theme
My absolute favourite Star Wars theme. Beautiful!

Marvelous rendition of this glorious piece. Congratulations. Your version is in some ways vastly superior to London Symphony.
