Don't Roof Rack Me Bro DEVO
A Trubite To Mitt Romeny s 🐕Irrish setter dog !
@@guyboost7311 thanks!
Dude kinda predicted how Tyler would blow up and look at Igor! It should have won best album, period. Not best hip hop.
@@vondoomsie you are very welcome
Jerry Casale is an American hero. I really mean that.
I freaked out when I saw he picked up a copy of 'Forbidden Zone'. If Devo and Oingo Boingo did a project together, the world would explode from its epicness.
Dude, the SOUNDTRACK/ SCORE of Forbidden Zone has been one of my favorite discs for over 35 years! The Elfman Bros and 'The Mystic Knights of the' Oingo Boingo at their absolute finest. FIND it and BUY it.
Max Devo Dear God/dess in Heaven! Yes!
Oingo Boingo are great but forbidden zone isn't Great.
Or maybe I just don't get it idk
@@thewhoman3182 It has it's moments . . . but not half as good as it's near-namesake, The Forbidden Room. Check it out if you like surreal experimental films, especially Canadian ones lol

"Forbidden Zone" LOL I was an extra on that movie...
I wanted this to last 1 hr instead of 7 minutes. great stuff.
I mean it kinda makes sense that Gerald likes Tyler. Both musicians are pretty eccentric. Devo and Odd Future both pushed the boundaries.
What a nice guy. Talks serenely regarding artists. No poser.
Thank you, Jerry, not only for Devo, but for introducing me to this store I immediately need to pilgrimage to.
I love that he has good taste in music. But then again I'm not surprised.
DEVO's EZ listening album is genius
I dig it too
Gates of Steel is amazing
Gerald = LIKE A BOSS . First time I saw Devo was in the summer 1980 and there was a bit of a riot - lots of glass broken. Been a Devotee since then, and I own an early press version of EZ-Listening/ Muzak version of Devo tunes , love it .
Most important person so Far on this show IMO
Forbidden Zone...the guy wearing glasses is in the credits under the name Toshiro Baloney...his real name is Matthew Bright and directed Freeway and Freeway 2.
Devo? Hells yeah! I clicked fast as hell. I want that Devo easy listening album. never heard of it until now. Thx Amoeba!!
Nice to hear he is up a current music.
Best episode i like him even more finally somebody loving music not just memories.
ultimate devo 1972- 1990.
what a gentleman...humble too
DEVO-ODD FUTURE ALBUM MAKE IT HAPPEN BOYS
Brian Wood Loving that profile pic!
Well done video with really interesting music choices. 5 stars.
Prob the best bag ever. This dude knows how to party.
would love to listen to that Devo E-Z listening album...
I'd never even heard of the Rick Elfman movie. Need to check that one out!
11 fucking years ago. Holy shit.
Love it!!!
Great picks Jerry!
@theledstone i'm not that young anymore, but the only suitable answer for your comment goes something like this: "Go read! a freakin' book grandpa". I think Gerald has fine taste in music, he is kinda a music explorer that follows his own instinct. Uniqueness makes these "Whats in my bag" episodes great.
Nice variety of picks, Jerry!
GILL. SCOTT. HERON!
Great and interesting choices from a true Pioneer of music.
That place reminds me of TOWER RECORDS in Glasgow, where I used to work in 2000! I got half my acid/techno record collection from there
Caught The Forbidden Zone in COLOR at The Egyptian with Rick Elfman led panel. So cool.
We needed a DEVO and Beastie Boys collab... Also, Tyler, collab with DEVO!
Ha ha... I've got EZ Listening cd and used to use the beginning of Beautiful World for my answering machine message
I like the "Forbidden Zone" pick, mainly because it always reminded me of "In The Beginning Was The End | THE TRUTH ABOUT DE-EVOLUTION".
Real cool!
Was not expecting the Gil Scott Heron Jamie XX album. Awesome.
I never realized what a huge part of Devo Jerry Casale was until I heard his great two-part interview on Dean Delray's podcast, _Let There Be Talk_:
Part 1, episode #193: www.stitcher.com/podcast/dean-delray/let-there-be-talk/e/193jerry-casaledevo-40165702
Part 2, episode #198: www.stitcher.com/podcast/dean-delray/let-there-be-talk/e/198jerry-casaledevo-part-2-40391071
Yeah, Mark gets most of the attention. In a lot of ways Devo is a "band without egos."
national treasure right there, thanks amoeba!
I would like to give that "Early Mats" in the background, a listen to! the late great Bob Stinson's in the photo! so I guessing some highly combustable tracks!
One of the best whats in my BAG!!!
I bought my copy of the EZ listening disc at Amoeba!
"A tip of the hat to Matt for that"! He's a poet...and I think he knows it?
Thee oh sees vinyl in the background!!
I like Amoeba because it reminds me of the 80's. Thanks for asking.
i like it when people say the date in the recording, just to see how long editing takes
I had a copy of that very CD
Where DEVO plays EZ Musik
And the cover is a pitcher of the.Andormeda Glaxey !!
Dag, if Amoeba can still do it, and from what I've heard and seen ( sadly not in person, YET!), still do it so damned well, then why didn't or hasn't Tower?! Living in the Eastern side of the States, where can or does a cat visit to view even a tenth of what Amoeba constantly offers up. Just the type of stuff that us teens in the 80's still dig on the regular. Much, much respect and thanksgiving has to get thrown to Amoeba for their incredible vision of what is still extremely important.
Love that Beastie Boys shout out
The Early Mats album in the background
Icon right there
FORBIDDEN ZONE - the best. And a great soundtrack. And I have watched it over and over - over the years - I DID pick up the COLORIZED version and it's worthy.
What great taste.
Goddamn I love Jerry
I Love How He's Into Tyler, the Creator. WHIP IT!
don’t just whip it whip it good na’mean
Jerry was born in 1948?! Let your hair go grey, Jerry - you'll still be handsome.
steemdup I really dig Gerald, he is the epi-center of unadulterated De-Evolution, but if y'all ain't to be eyeing up that 'Hair Piece', 'Hair Replacement', on Jerry's severely thinned out pate, then you are not as De-evolved as you ought to be....................................................
And So It Is, dUTY nOW fOR tHE fUTURE! AnD noW my sOn booGie boy!
Glad he likes Tyler
Ooooh Red Sparrowes right behind him!
Jerry is one of my favorite celebrities, cool 🐈
Omg I got that DEVO easy listening CD. I bought it in high school. I’m a huge DEVO fan but never really listened to that CD as it was pretty cheesey. Didn’t know it was hard to find!
forbidden zone!! I love you!
He likes Stockhausen. So do I (as well as many other 20th century composers).
I gotta peep that Devo Lounge album now.
I thought for sure he was going to have one of them plastic helmets in his bag.
GERALD LIKES OFWGKTA!??!?!
SALEM King Night at 1:30 💗
*eyeing that QOTSA vinyl*
I'd like to hear that E-Z listening record, that's funny they made it.
This guy wil probably love the murlocs
I love that he likes "Odd Future" ^_^
I was you are, a star.
🎶 it’s a beautiful bag🎶 it’s a beautiful bag🎶
Holy shit he name-drops Tyler
He's the last person I'd expect to like rap, but I guess considering rap's roots it kind of makes sense...
A lot if art punk artists L9VED rap.
swag
Last comment, l just thank god that people still enjoys off the wall music. Ps. Where is Electric Geetar, by talking heads or Brian snow, kings lead hat.
WHIP IT
@Luap0 Wait I got you now. I read that wrong. I was thinking you meant "we" as in multiple people, not you and Gerald. It's odd how that happens sometimes.
WHOA, Jerry is a pitchfork follower??!
Praise Bob!
how this took 6 months to be uploaded, some nice choices here
Jerry Casale sure looks a lot like Mike Meyers now. Be Stiff DEVOtees.
+Molly Mollinaro OMG - he does! lol
Anyone remember "Let me tickle your fancy" performed with Jermaine Jackson?
Sorry meant Goblin.
He probably owns them already. They are pretty common records.
whatever this dude suggests is great
Oh Gerry, you need to checkout cLOUDDEAD
I wonder if Jerry got into Stockhausen through Mark.
damn he knows the xx, whip it
Of course Jerry likes Forbidden Zone
"tip of the hat to matt for that"
@theledstone high swear-age? what?
Decent episode! Sebastian Bach's is still the best, though.
I love "Easy Listening" Kurt Cobain, turned me on to it!
