W O T
Pauly Shore omg, you’re right😅
They don't make men like Dean Martin anymore. He's so fucking cool.
+Mozart FX Dean Martin mastered the art of being fucked up on TV. Clever, easy-going, versatile, yet able to stand and walk. No sarcasm here. Dean is that guy you just like to have around.
+Jonas Butler I doubt it, ever heard never meet your heroes
+Mozart FX he looked well pissed
+Mozart FX he is lit up like a christmas tree
+Mozart FX he is lit up like a christmas tree
It's funny how metal musicians are different from their fans. You see them picking up every kind of music to listen to, then you check the comments and you see their fans shitting on everything that isn't their favourite 4 or 5 bands.
I know *many* metal fans (and I'm one myself) that love a wide variety of musical genres... Don't let a few vocal idiots in a comment section ruin your perspective.
true
There are a lot of dumb, tunnel-visioned metal fans to be sure, but a lot with diverse tastes as well. I personally love Anthrax, early Metallica, Slayer, Trouble, early Priest, Mercyful Fate, and on and on, but also love the Beatles, Miles Davis, Otis Redding, Joni Mitchell, Yes, Jim Croce, and the Velvet Underground, to name a few.
Elitism is cancer, especially in metal. Why deprive yourself of good music because it’s of a different genre? It’s stupid.
Everyone has a wide variety of music they listen to even musicians. So nice seeing all the different types of music they like listening to
Dean Martin was loaded to the gills in that clip. Love it
there's two clips.
The most hardcore of Metal heads just had a heartattack seeing Anthrax drummer, Charlie Benante, support and say that Nirvana's Nevermind album is one of the greatest albums ever made, lol! That's what I love about Anthrax. They're not a bunch of jaded guys who only like things that are dark and Heavy Metal based. Anthrax are real and that's what makes them great. : )
Nevermind is one of my favourite album of all time along with in utero and I'm a big metalhead
Thge Episode with Necrobutcher from Mayhem is also gloriously not Kvlt
Anthrax sucks.
@@dg6729 no but your mom does
Yes very true.
Everything is good in the universe. Dean Martin, Queen, Mary Tyler Moore (w/ Ted), Pink floyd, Nirvana, U2, Joe Bonamassa.
I think the best " Whats in my bag " is Sebastián Bach. Atleast he walked around and looked at other shit and talked about different stuff, was pretty cool
I find it really weird that a lot of metal fans don't like nirvana but ever metal band from the 80s thought they were great
Because Nirvana and the Grunge bands talked shit about how terrible metal music was when they came out and destroyed the metal scene at that time.
metal fans are stupid
@@dx315 Exactly
@@CelestialWoodway Destroyed the metal scene? Metal was thriving in the 90s, sure it wasn't the kind of music that was topping the charts but that wasn't Nirvana's fault. All Nirvana did to metal was put hair metal out of it's misery, a genre that was already dying because everyone was sick of it.
They didn't hate metal either, Kurt was a Celtic Frost fan, and everyone knows Dave is a huge metalhead.
The only "metal scene" that Nirvana destroyed was the poseur metal scene occupied by abortions like Poison and Warrant, and followed by little suburban dorks whose moms took them shopping at Zayre.
To me being metal just means being real. There's loads of great music out there that may not be metal but it is real. If you refuse to listen your missing out.
Huge fan of these guys, and overall, they have stellar taste. Also...wow. I'm seeing a lot of Queen hate in the comments. If you can't respect the immense musical talent of Queen, you don't deserve your hearing.
"Dont deserve your hearing"
Man its about fucking taste. We dont have the same taste. And its good like that.
I dont hate queen, but I don’t like queen. It’s just not my bag. They do a good job but I could care less.
👍👍❗
DJ Matt R.: Yeah, Freddie very likely was the ultimate rock star we ever had the pleasure to listen to and be entertained by -- one of the greatest singers with an incredible vocal range who also was an eclectic songwriter and possibly the greatest showman of the whole rock era (back when being a showman still mattered, that is).
Anthrax sucks balls.
Love to see Mike Patton do one of these.
Yes!!!
Probly wouldn't know anything in his bag.
you know he would get a bunch of beiber shit and maroon 5 just to fuck with everyone
He likes classical music and opera. Maybe some brutal metal like “nails” or something too
I love this series.
Charlie, you are one of the best drummers out there and have been for many, many years. I have loved your playing for 30 years. Thank you for so many years of absolutely SICK drumming!!
3 fave Queen albums: “News Of The World”, “Jazz” & “The Game”!!! xoxo The Clarences
I love Nirvana! Cool that Charlie digs them, too!
Bryan Schuessler I mean 90% of the population does so
Charlie Benante is an awesome musician, guitarrist, drummer and songwriter and he knows what music is all about...
Wow! I remember watching The Mary Tyler Moore Show after school at my nanas when I was a kid. Loved it!
"Is There Anybody Out There" is an amazing live album. It's a must have for any Floyd fan.
persistence of time was in my bag the other day. great album.
Seen that tour efn great show thanks for one great night in Vancouver Canada you guys are my favorite childhood band and still love you guys rock on
I love he picked that Whitesnake dvd ... My first concert was 7-29-87. Whitesnake , Anthrax and Autograph.. Killer show
Awesome. The only truth that can be kept in the family. Long Live Anthrax.
Can't believe some of the comments. Music is about freedom not I play metal so I can't listen to anything else..
I love how people shit on metalheads for not listening to anything else, but like that's their choice and if they don't like anything else well it's their opinion
I've noticed that musicians usually enjoy a wider range of music than their fans
Dean Martin & Mary Tyler Moore ... Definitely didn't expect that, but that is fucking awesome at the same time.
Respect for this Metal Guys....How you can listen another music and create other...a great example of open mind...
Alright Amoeba. . .you got me hooked on these videos. Quality stuff!
Amoeba totally rules! I visited their SF store a couple months ago and went on a Bad Brains shopping spree - such a wildly awesome selection of stuff... very cool to see these videos - I really miss that place! love from NYC
I always loved Mr. Benante. After watching this...i REALLY love him! He likes the same tracks i do!
Great to here that Scott is a comic nerd
Mary Tyler Moore 😅 LAST thing I would have expected....awesome! And I have loved My Goal’s Beyond for 30 years. Side A is almost Indian jazz, side B lovely contemplative solo acoustic pieces.
Dragon attack. Can't beat it.
THANK YOU ROB for getting me into rob crow, amazing amazing artist
Jeez . . .
I really need to stop reading the comments. There are more cliches of "what a Metalhead SHOULD have" than the actual band members themselves are actually into :p.
Belladonna into the awesome Eric Johnson . . . thats freakin' cool. And I grew up with the same variety shows and sitcoms as a kid \m/.
mvunit3 Best comment here!!!
mvunit3 i try hard not to read comments....theyll give you a stroke
Dude, seriously. Some metal fans just don't want their metal gods to be well-rounded thoughtful people. It's the only genre that this seems to happen with. All these guys could've picked a bunch of Russian pop music and I would be like, "oh okay there must be something to these Russian pop bands, I'll check it out".
👍❗
wow do i need that Dean Martin DVD set
The last album by Rob Crowe, he is one half of Pinback a fantastic duo. "Summer in Abbadon" and "Blue Screen Life" are good starting point. It's chill stuff.
Mary Tyler Moore :) the further i get into this episode, the more i love it. dean martin, queen, mtm, anthrax is great
Love how Dean Martin makes smoking look cool again.
Quite a few ppl have told me The Mary Tyler Moore Show is the best sitcom. Might have to give it a try
listen to Anthrax's among the living album. buy it on vinyl if u can. amazing from start to finish.
They all have excellent taste!
5:26 For those to young to know actor Ted Knight's character on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" was the original "Anchorman" before Will Ferrell's "Anchorman". A good reason to watch it if they ever repeat old episodes on TV again.
Saint Martins it’s on Hulu
RIP Ted, Mary and Chuckles🙄🙏🤣🤡 one of the greatest episodes ever
I checked out the Rob Crow album and loved it. Great stuff.
They have it in full amongst his other stuff on here I recommend his take on fascination
I grew up with watching Mary Tyler Moore and Dean Martin. Nirvana was cool. They were good as a band and wish they could have still been together. I like Pink Floyd and U2. It is so cool that some celebrities like what us uncelebs like. Thank you Anthrax and Ameoba!
It’s funny how a lot of Metalhead’s are into comics!🤘🏻they all picked up some great stuff!
Love it!
That's cool he respects Nirvana.
Didn't SOD cover territorial pissings?
nirvana suck balls , whiny music and none of the band members except grohl were good musicians
edwarrj1976
yeah but they also made fun of em....
lord geoffrey Oh, sorry, please show us your obviously better repertoire of songs that far exceed that of Nirvana's...
Agosto Cobain
Yeah exactly, I know that. That's why I left that comment.
Aww, love Rob Crow/Pinback.
nothing wrong with Mary Tyler Moore. . I just bought season 2 of Quincy. I don't know why but 60s and 70s TV shows are very addictive
ey yo dont be ashamed of Mary Tyler Moore bruh, rep that sheeit fam! she a straight beast, takin new grounds for women in cinema an shit!
Interesting choices from these guys !
Check out “Attack of the Killer B’s” by Anthrax!
Some good riffs and tones and beats!
John McLaughlin. One of the original guitar gods. Still amazing.
Rob Crow is also the guitar player and singer for a band called Pinback. They have some really good music if anyone is looking for something new to listen too.
Good taste fellas !!
Rob Caggiano: Peter Gabriel! YES!
Anthrax is awesome, but I was shocked by their picks. I thought they would have several of these albums already or be into totally different things. It is cool though because their diverse tastes combine to make original thrash stuff in the end.
Joey had the coolest picks, which is funny for some reason. Maybe because he is the singer, but Joey has always been cool.
+Ocean Sage well they toured with public enemy and ministry al was a big anthrax fan...yeah...Ian is the koolest cux he is a space ace fanatic
I think sometimes they pick something they already have just to give attention to it.
Dino, Queen, NIRVANA! Bonamassa (oh, Joey), Peter Gabriel... they are absolutely winning my heart right now.
Anthax is the best in "What's In My Bag?" episode.. completely honest.. most of the thing them like it, i like it too..
Surprising selections here. Cool deal.
I own every season of Mary Tyler Moore. I am a 27 year old dude. It doesn't matter who you are, MTM show is a TERRIFIC anti depressant. Even if you don't find it laugh-out-loud funny, it is just so feel good and optimistic. I highly suggest it to all.
Love Rob's picks, turned me on to some new stuff..
what the hell frank mary tyler moore come on
Queen is always good music no matter what genre of music you listen to.
anthrax "keep it in the family" from persistence of time (1990) album
The Mary Tyler Moore show had an amazing theme song. Bob Mould agrees with me.
Alex Newman Hell Yes!! It would have been great if this show was around, when Hüsker Dü was still together
I remember hearing Nirvana for the first time my brother bought it and I was a freshman in college and nevermind was a revelation and was just so fresh and new and very happily destroyed hair metal and just destroyed everything in it's path.
Nirvana was a breath of fresh air!after real metal became hair metal I was all in!thank God for Pantera and all the true metal that stuck around. But, Nirvana was essentially the best thing that could of happened at that time.Ty Pantera,ty Nirvana!
Any one notice the "Capitalist Caualties" album behind him?
The Bay Area was fuckin awesome in the 80's and 90's!
Nice!! Saw capitalist casualties with spazz at Gilman St. in '93!! Sill fresh in my mind!
thank you. just, thank you.
Dean Martin looked blasted.
Dean Martin was awesome
I've been to this one. Cool place. They had an Evil Dead 2 t-shirt, which is my favorite movie of all time. I didn't buy it and I'm not sure why and I'm still mad about it.
Man I'm from Utica, cool to see Bonamassa get a shout out
Hard to believe Scott Ian is in Mr.Bungle :o
Scott Ian enjoying with Dino Martin.. Class >)
Cool!
Fuck yea FINALLY a band worth watching..now I gotta go shopping
With you Charlie ! Queen kick ass on every level ! Although I get ya ! 70s queen is king 🤴
Lol Frank & the Mary Tyler Moore show, I grew up watching that. Ted Knight was hilarious.
Niiiice Pics
they gave a good impression how anthrax' music evolved :D
nice rob crow pick up.
Used to watch the Dean Martin shit with my dad. Very special.
I would watch the Mary Tyler Moore show as a kid just to hear the title song. I loved it for some reason. Kids.....
Scott! Charlie! Frankie! Hand me that Capitalist Casualties/Man Is The Bastard split LP behind you!
I also barely remember the Dean Martin variety show also!
rob had the best stuff....also charlie's "new to the world" vinyl lp...the best ever queen record
Anyone else think it's funny that the singer of the band gets all the cool guitarists stuff? Nirvana is still a guilty pleasure of mine, they're great for learning guitar too, power chords anyways. But I would've bought all the stuff i saw in this video. I still buy cds too, and support my favorite bands, like Annihilator and Dream Theater.
oh yes!!! Dream Theater, Nirvana and Rush are my all time killer bands!!!!!
Joey is the only one who got shit for himself and not us watching xD
Dean Martin was indeed a smooth cat...and as for Charlie,Queens 'The Game'....While I am not very familiar with much Queen music,I can actually hear some Anthrax sound in that guitar part played, now i get it.I like this whats in my bag the best because they are varied, not just Metal music like a lot of musicians would have.
Cool guys, down to Earth, open minded, much more than meets the eye - of course!
The Damned - What's In My Bag ? You should really do that.
That would be neat, neat, Neat!
@@ColtraneTaylor I could have sworn I saw one with Dave or Captain...??
The Dean Martin Variety Show!!!!! What the??
UTICA SHOUT OUT!!!
anyone know the name of that Joe Bonamassa song at 7:20?
I love how brutal metal icons can be so open minded
Anthrax brutal metal?
Tone looks amazING
Q - The theme from - Overkill
...but where do they buy their bermuda-shorts? Fyre Festival??
Rob Crow is awesome and you can check him out here on UA-cam
Some surprising choices.
