    god damn, we've come to the point where people complain that there's too much dialogue in a movie.

      Woody Clapham How can you complain about dialogue when you have a character that does not speak for half the movie.

      have to agree with Hvaddafuck4 on that one, it's like when prometheus came out and everybody started bitching because there were no aliens in the film, now ridley scott is doing a sequal and everybody is bitching because he's doing another alien movie again... -_-

      Michael Rey Logan is an absolute masterpiece. Remember the days of Nolan's Batman, Raimi's Spider-Man, Donner's Superman, or even Burton's Batman. Logan feels like it was pulled from that time period.

    I think the villain complaint is getting overplayed. Not every film has or needs a villain and its really not the point of this movie. That said I think Pierce was a fun antagonist throughout the movie and without spoiling anything the "final boss" character was the perfect choice thematically and you know Logan's clearly at a major disadvantage whenever they fight.

    • @HULKHOGAN1
      @HULKHOGAN1 7 років тому +20

      Exactly. This movie wasn't supposed to be about flashy explosions, powers and villains. Logan is a deeply personal, emotionally driven film, crafted to explore the human-like mentality of superheros. The villains being in the background drew the raw emotion and significantly crucial dialogue into the spotlight. 10/10 easily.

      Because comedy sells. Think about it, Deadpool does insanely well, people love most Marvel movies, but any time a comic book movie isn't laced with jokes and lighthearted moments it seems like nobody can agree and you get comments saying "best movie ever!" and "fuck this movie, worst I've seen!"
      Batman vs. Superman had a lot of "where's the comedic relief?!" type comments (and even reviews on RT had a bunch of that) and I just saw people bitching about Logan "being too serious" and "no comedic relief."

    Too much dialogue? WTF? Go watch suicide squad then. And the family barn part was one of the best, because of the meaning behind it. It was a moment of happiness for both xavier and logan in that apocalyptic world they lived in, it made them feel like in home again, and that was both touching and awesome.

      Nonsensical Sanic Young girl gets pushed onto way older man (Ellie in the game, Laura in the movie) by someone they don't know and then someone they trust (Marlene and Tess in the game, Kathryn and Professor X in the movie) . In the beginning he doesn't want anything to do with her, doesn't care about her and just wants to be left with the one person he does care about. Ends up blaming the death of the last person he cares about on the girl. Then grows a father daughter bond with her, and ends up sacrificing everything for her.

    such a depressing and sad ending but such a good reminder that not every story needs to be concluded on a happpy note

      jonmangaming the amount of humour in the mcu is the reason I don't feel interested in anything they release, I bought the tickets for Civil War knowing nothing in the film is gonna be at stake, it's a cupcake reality, and it ended that way, you can literally leave your brain outside the theatre and go inside and laugh and leave smiling, I can't sit through that. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. I would actually put it up there with the Dark Knight. It didn't feel like I was watching a comic book movie and that was great. Only other movie I can say that about was the Dark Knight and DK Rises. Loved this movie. Made me very emotional. Definitely shits on everything Marvel Studios has released recently. WAYYY better that Civil War, which was very overrated. X Men movies are the best cause they actually make me feel different emotions. Something the MCU movies fail to do so. Even Apocolypse gave me some emotion with the magneto forest scene

      His adamantium had somehow been breaking down or poisoning him since he got it attached to him. I suppose, (I think the movie is in 2024 I believe) and he has had them since the late 70's (more or less.) So his healing factor was just SO strong that it wasn't really affecting him. Logan has been alive since the 1880's and he isn't immortal, so my theory is since he was in his declining years the metal was poisoning him and his healing factor couldn't hold it off anymore. They also mention the Corn Syrup thing kind of factored in the decline of mutants maybe that played a part as well.

In the past when you thought of thee American hero you would say superman but now with out a doubt you say captain America lol. Marvel did something absolutely amazing they took down the iconic DC characters and replaced them with better characters that we all relate too and care about. I don't think DC can recover that.

      vvs Pranay the most plausible theory would be that charles xavier killed them...sadly it is never really explainef in the movie. But when charles started crying and said he didnt deserve it...that could be a hint for why so few mutants are left...it is still a bit weird.
      But i enjoyed this movie so much...it shows the more realistic side of the x men universe, even though it is fictional i know, but here logan felt truly like an antihero. Everyone struggles and has to deal with their problems. It has a much more human side to it which i liked a lot!

      +DarianHerrejon Thank you! But if it was the Adamantium, why wasn't he getting sick in the other Wolverine movies - like Days of Future Past (sorry X men movies)? Or was it the cumulative effect of aging plus the Adamantium? Sorry I'm a female geek and I really am intrigued why he stopped being able to self-heal

    • @oooweeeoooo
      @oooweeeoooo 7 років тому +1

      The older he gets, the slower he heals. There will eventually come a point to where his healing factor will completely burn out. Before he had his bones laced with adamantium, he healed much much faster, but since the metal is constantly poisoning his body his healing factor is working nonstop to combat it. Now that he's older, his body can't keep up with the poison. He was basically on a ticking clock the instant he was infused with the metal.

    I'm sorry but Logan was the best film that year. I saw most and nothing moved my like this film. Great acting and story. 1 of the only movies where I legit cried at the end. Death of an era. Hugh Jackman, will always be wolverine to me. Thats a tough act to follow for sure.

    I loved it! Perfect ending for Logans story! And then it leads to these new generation X-Men twist. They could fuck it up if they decide to make more movies starring these new X-Men. I fear it tries too hard to include everyone in to this universe. That is not a bad thing, but it can be a slippery slope if not executed just right.
    And i oh so loved the last scene, where Wolverine was buried and the girl takes the cross out of the grave and angles it so it looks like an X!

    Joe this isn't a alternate universe it's the same universe as all the other xmen films, this movie deserved a true 10/10 legendary master piece rating just like The Dark Knight.

    I think your review of Logan was spot, freaking-on, perfect. The Oscars are already screwed up with PC bull shit, but if the girl who portrayed Laura ISN'T nominated for an Oscar......that little girl's performance was STUNNING!

      RACSO XVII are you an x men fan? If you read the comics, you'd love this movie. I read a lot of logan/wolverine comics. I can see why a casual fan wouldn't like it.

      Edward Tigersoul well, i read A LOT of Logan/wolverine comics as a kid 10-15 years old. This movie really captured the spirit of wolverine. It's hard to say whether you'll like this. Most x men movies are very light hearted. This movie doesn't really have any sense of hope or comic relief. It's VERY dark compared to the rest. I don't think you need to be a fan of the comics. Are you a fan of dark, depressing, violent films? If so, you'll love this.

      I liked this movie and have read a lot of comics, however my main problem is that the movie focuses to much on violence (Which is pretty good) but leaves out more development time for the relation between x23 and Logan, I didn't think this movie had a moment to earn Laura's sadness at the end of the movie. Yet Logan's relation with Charles was the best part of the movie IMO, so I don't really know what to say.

    • @LegendaryManSlayer93
      @LegendaryManSlayer93 7 років тому +2

      F Britannia i think that was intentional. SPOILERS----------------------------------------
      The entire film, x23 could never "reach" Logan. When they finally bond over the forest fight, he dies. Which makes Logan's last line even more tragic: "so this is what it feels like." He referring to death and finally having a family. That's my opinion.

    Honestly one of the greatest road trip movies I've ever seen. The wolverine family kills their way across the country with their kooky grandfather and hijinks ensue!
    Also, there are mutants, I guess.

    I think the generic villains kind of add to the story. Logan, at full strength cuts right through that whole squad. Logan with weakened healing power makes generic enemies a real threat. Kind of like "The Wolverine" movie. They had to weaken him to create vulnerability. Usually in the x men movies it's magneto who makes him vulnerable.

    Logan was brilliant. The thing is comics can be made to have humour or make a point about something but the thing that always makes comics great is the human element. They are always about very human stories, its great to finally see some movies which capture that instead of just being action for the sake of action. Nothing wrong with the Marvel movies but I am so glad to see some of this more human side coming through in movies.
