I really enjoy videos like this! Your striped scarf immediately made me think of the “Bright Here, Bright Now” scarf by Caitlyn Turowski. You could tone down the colours, but I do like the uneven stripe sequence in this. Another idea is to knit the stockinette scarf in the round, making it double thick with no worries about rolling borders. You also wouldn’t have to weave in ends as they would be hidden on the inside. I also like the Tonight Top…I’ve had that one in my queue for a while!

Oh these are wonderful suggestions - I particularly like the idea of hiding the yarn ends as it would be a pretty massive job to weave them all in. I've starting pairing colours together and hope to get start on a scarf very soon!

dearest isy, I'm always so excited to see a new video upload of yours, because I just admire your taste and how you talk about the knits and the fits. I feel like we have pretty similar taste, but you never fail to inspire me! I had treated myself before christmas with a sweater quantity of knitting for olive merino and soft silk mohair, not knowing what I wanted to do with it and searching endlessly for the perfect sweater project- and you just put an end to that search with the no frills sweater. it's kinda funny to me, because I knew that this pattern existed, I just never saw it as something I would terribly want to have in my wardrobe. but hearing you talk about your styling plans for this spring it just made sense to me, because I am too in need of a nice, flowy and classy kinda sweater. so thank you for that!

Thank you so much for this lovely message - it really made me smile. I hope that you love the No Frills Sweater. I'm finding it to be a very relaxing and enjoyable knit. I've sized mine up one size to make sure the fit is a little be looser as I find her patterns can come up small. I also didn't think about making it until I rediscovered it and felt it would be perfect for my yarn. Happy knitting!

Hi Isy so good to see you, wonderful suggestions and inspirations, I am knitting a vest in some yarn on a cone that I have had for so long, it is pure Peruvian Alpaca in a toasty tan, so looking forward to finishing and wearing it before it becomes too warm! I’m in the UK so might have plenty of time to wear it 😅 looking forward to seeing what you have created in your next visit, take care Suze 🤗🧶 x

Hello! Your vest in Peruvian Alpaca sounds gorgeous. I do love a good alpaca yarn and am actually missing the English weather now that spring feels like it's arriving in Italy. I don't want to put away all my knits yet. Thank you for watching :)

First time, and Really enjoyed your podcast! I’ve been wanting to make a no frills sweater for so long but haven’t been able to decide on a yarn. What will you be using? Looking forward to more of your podcasts!

Hello, and welcome! I'm making mine in Lanar Industria Alpaca Tweed and KFO Silk Mohair - both in navy and hoping to share my progress next week. I'm really loving how the pattern is knitting up.

I made camisole no 9 in summer last year, and I have worn it constantly! It’s a gorgeous pattern and it fits great. I always get loads of compliments on it. It’s definitely worth the tiny needles and lightweight yarn 🧶

Thank you for the recommendation! I'm going to try to get some yarn for it soon as I can as feel it might be a slow project because of the needle size - so excited to create one though! It looks so perfect :)

I really liked this video, such a good way of making sure the projects you choose are considered choices not spur of the moment! Sezane is one of my favourite knitwear brands and they do lots of knitwear, I wondered if a future video idea might be to list some Sezane-esque knitting patterns? Just an idea ☺️

I loved the inspiration! I did want to add a little friendly feedback, not to bash on you or anything, but to add some perspective from someone who struggles with size ranges. You say that the No Frills sweater has a "generous size range" up to a 3XL, but I would disagree that that's generous. I am personally usually a 2XL, sometimes a 3XL depending on the designer, and in that pattern, I'm at the highest end of the range suggested for a 3XL. Generally speaking, I would say that a size inclusive pattern would include up to a 5XL. I bring this up because it can be frustrating to love a pattern, but be excluded from the size range. I'm not saying you have to only ever show size inclusive patterns, but I wanted to say something just to shed some light on what it feels like for those of us that are often left out of size ranges, whether that's on the high or low end. :) great videos!

Thank you so much for sharing your perspective - I will absolutely take this on board when I talk about sizing in the future. I had thought that Petite Knit was completely size inclusive but as this is one of her older patterns you are completely right - this is a more limited size range. I will be sure to double-check next time I do a pattern video. Thanks for watching :)
