"all this junk used to be money"
i love that and will be using that from now on
YES! Such a helpful thought when tempted to shop.
Little things I’ve added that help me: hanging laundry neatly to dry (helps with folding later, and no ironing), taking out the trash before it’s completely full and/or heavy, putting jewelry back at the exact same spot every time, having a chapstick in every room so I don’t have to look for it 😂 and lastly, I do scary / annoying phonecalls asap, to keep myself from anticipation-anxiety ❤
Since I've ran into your channel, I've been bingewatching your videos. Such a joy, straight to the point, structured, great personality and great advice. keep going ☀
She's addictive. It's so helpful.

Same!
I literally took all shopping apps off my phone, which has helped tremendously! I also decided to unfollow lifestyle influencers on social media. Out of sight out of mind! 💛
I have a 3 step check list before i go up to bed
1. kitchen - counters wiped and dishes in the dishwasher, breakfast bowl and spoon out
2. clothes - lay out for the next morning
3. yoga mat - out ready to stretch, if im still half asleep it doesnt compute as exercise!
The less I have to think about in the mornings, the better
I've been prioritizing good sleep by not eating certain foods before bed that keep me awake. I also always do my dishes before bed because it feels so much better to make breakfast in a clean kitchen :D
I need to start doing ALL the dishes before bed again. It really does make a difference in the morning, and often the dishes that need a little more effort, are only going to take more time in the morning when I already do not give myself enough time to get the needed things done. The whole if it can be done in 5mins, just get it done thing really works.
I’ve started realizing as I age, late night eating TOTALLY destroys my sleep quality. Glad to know I’m not alone!😅
meanwhile I'm drinking an energy drink at 1am and have no interest in ever doing dishes again. meh.
"All that stuff used to be money." :D Quite catchy! I used to go shopping as a hobby, either after work on a Friday or just simply doing online shopping in the evenings. Getting more into minimalism and finance but also reflecting on what's important to me helped me to quit that habit years ago and I rarely ever looked back. I keep a shopping list now and am so selective with what I buy. Just a few days ago I visited a major German city with sooo many nice shops I don't have in my little town. I loved to look at the things and beautiful displays but really felt no need to possess any of them. It feels incredibly freeing :D
“Everything has a home”. Such a great principle. Example… I was considering buying a new kitchen appliance, and when I thought about the fact that it might have to ”live” on the countertop ( unless I purge to find space in a cupboard), I decided to defer the purchase. I have found myself moving small items from one table/counter to another until I finally realize that IT NEEDS A HOME!
I really appreciated this one: "show up for these things as if you would get fired if you didn't do them" and "all this junk used to be money" - amazing that you managed to put stuff in here i'd never heard of, considering how many UA-cam videos i've seen on the subject :D
Great video! I’m on week 25 of my “no buy year”( with a 5 garment exception ) and that behavior twist has freed up mucho time and energy for hiking & yoga, spending time with friends, caring for my wardrobe and shopping my closet. Also, I invested in a membership at a local yoga studio since April. I have consistently taken an average of 19 classes each month. I feel better, look better and it fits my budget. I am now obsessed with my behaviors and habits that reflect a consumerism that is no longer me. I think that Americans are brain washed to believe that it’s normal to constantly consume. I love the tip -shopping with a plan cause it really works especially at the grocery store and mall. Thanks again.
I committed to 4-5 20 min at home workouts a week 4 months ago and even with such a small amount of time it has made huge changes to my strength and fitness. Keeping it manageable for my life stage (parenting a young kid) has meant that I stick to it. Great tips 😊
What kind of workouts do you do if you don’t mind sharing?
I did something similar a few years ago, I needed to eliminate the barrier to entry, so as soon as I get home from work I put on my workout clothes and turn on a UA-cam workout video and it ensures I'm consistent with working out.
Every single one of your videos are so relatable! Thank you for all the life advice and tips - and for showing us everyone deals with the same things in one way or another ❤ love your videos!
🥹🥹🥹 we’re def not alone!
Habit stacking (ty James Clear!) was a huge one for me. I’m already in the kitchen making coffee every morning, so now I unload the dishwasher while it brews. I want to be writing every day instead of scrolling all morning, so I started taking my coffee into the office instead of drinking it on the couch, and my productivity has soared. Attaching new habits onto older, established ones makes them easier to remember and sustain 🙌🏼
Eva in the City has a rule that after she buys something she will either wear it within 10 days of getting it, or she will return it.
Agree! I saw a great quote saying "social media has turned all of us into hoarders" or something to that affect. Just last night I was thinking about the whole skincare thing and reducing even though, compared to most, I don't have that much. Still too much for me and to your point most does nothing and some does harm. Especially to the bank account. Cutting way back on supplements has actually made me feel BETTER. Thanks for the great tips. Simple is one of my favorite words and I like to apply to most everything in my life.
This video gave me all the motivation I need to stop being wishy-washy with certain habits I keep neglecting! Moving out and having to hold myself responsible for more things hasn't been easy at times, but I know myself and I truly just want to do better for myself. However, my roommate seems to want the opposite sometimes, which makes the process difficult. I'm definitely going to be referencing this video a lot going forward! ❤
Fantastic tips! I love the schedule your “me time” like it’s work! 🎉
Thank you for this! Your video resonated with me on many levels. I especially loved tips 8-11. Showing up for yourself and treating it like it’s your job is huge. This is an important lesson I’ve come to realize as I’ve been adulting for many years now. If I don’t set my boundaries, other people will set them for me. Leading a more intentional, wellness driven life has taught me taught me that getting my priorities in order is paramount.
Always love your content, Christina! Thanks for the inspo!
Agree on all of the points and little habits. Practice them on a daily basis myself and could not tell how much life is better. ❤
Thank you for making videos, Christina!
Because of you, I’m doing a no buy July except the essentials!
Loved this so much! Saved it on a playlist thanks 😊
Love this list. Simple and practical!
This is great! Sent this to my struggling 23 year old. Words of wisdom!!!! Can't wait for your journal to come out!❤
No Buy July, baby! Thank you for this and all your content. I didn't know what to call the lifestyle I wanted until I found your channel. Intentional is the perfect word. Thank you for being a stellar example and educator of a more intentional life.
This one was really great. Thanks for sharing! Definitely saving to watch again when I need it
I love watching you! I would like to add that what you are talking about applies
also for the fitness routine. I have been training with weights for 30 years already and I know that simplification simplification brings the greatest results It is not the quantity that counts, but the quality of what you do.
Nice to consider the No Buy periodically. You mentioned this as well in an earlier post and I have started it this month - a challenging month given 4th of July, Nordstrom half yearly sales galore but so far I have survived the 4th of July sales weekend. Its actually kinda nice not to see a constant stream of packages coming in the door as I would feel a weird combo of dopamine hit followed by guilt every time I opened a package.
Christina! Thanks.. straight forward! Useable info. Love❤ that!!
Morning, Christina! Thanks for these. Yep, the more and more thing just makes me sad and is NOT what i want anymore. I am always happier just not adding unless i really need it. Lots of good stuff here, esp "everything has a home!" That one is huge, and makes me think twice about getting anything else because i don't want to fill that space. ha. Just trying to appreciate what i've got more, and not shop for no reason. The no buys definitely help me, too. Getting in the habit of just not wanting stuff as much. Other things are more fulfilling and fun!
Absolutely!!
Last January was a No Buy Month for me and I'm doing it again now in July. Works great for me and it's easier than you think. Thank you Christina!
Love it!
One of your best videos, super useful tips
I work from home and the BEST thing I did for myself was booking my pilates classes at the exact end of my workday (6 pm). This made it easier for me to see it as part of my non-negotiable tasks for the day just as work meetings and other tasks. I do not stress about working out anymore and there isn't time for me to start complaining or making up excuses: There is no valid excuse to skip a workout exactly as there is no valid excuse to skip work :)
Your green blazer is everything ❤
Great video. Thanks!
Great video. Super tips - feeling motivated! 🎉
Great tips! It's always a good feeling to avoid unnecessary purchases.
"All this junk use to be money....so true. If it takes less than 5 minutes to do a chore, just do it." I've heard you say these statements before and they hit home so I implemented them both. What a huge difference they've made. Next I will try to prioritize fitness.
Cool tips! I’d say a simple routine simplifies life, repetitive eating habits, shopping list, cleaning routine. Diversity is good, but takes up my energy.
Bang on, Christina!
Great tips! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Fabulous video! I have been using Tru Earth laundry and dishwasher products! Love love
Excellent video!!
Excellent!
I really enjoy your videos! Random question. Can you tell us about your nails? Do you do them at home, or do you get them done? They always look great!
I get them done once a month - it’s the only thing that keeps me from biting them!
Keep it simple, sweetheart/sister/silly. 🕊✨
Brilliant.
I have a priorities list instead of a todo list. A change I made was deciding to clean up imediately after I finish cooking (pans, bowls, empty food storage containers, etc) - it takes less than five minutes to wash, dry and put away.
please share where you got your baggie black sweats? maybe horse shoe shape? LOVE them!!! also love your videos!!
Great video❤❤
So glad it’s helpful!
Great video 👍🏻
Great great video!!
BTW- the brows are looking so awesome- great size & shape for you :)
I find myself considering buying many nutritional supplements, powders and potions. I’ve only bought 2 things over the years and haven’t thought too highly of them. But the ads!!! They’re never ending. What is your take on trying wellness products without wasting a ton of money. I have used AG1 before but eventually stopped it thinking something might be better but haven’t bought anything else.
Ohhh no buy journal! Here it comes 🎉
Great video! I love your blazer! Where did you get it?
Looking forward to the no buy journal!
So excited!
the only time i actually shop less it’s when i do social media detox 😅
Love your necklaces. Where are they from ?
Her jewellery is usually from Mejuri or Pamela Card
❤❤❤
❤
I love your Ukrainian stickers and trident
I just learned that we named our dogs the same ...
Girl, the hanger method only works if I ever hang things up to begin with... I... do not.
😂 touché
I love that Ukrainian trident on your necklace. May I ask why you wear it?
I’m Ukrainian
👍🏼
☺️
A video of yours from ages ago inspired me to do a No Buy July. I delete all the sales emails immediately because I’m just not interested anymore - but now I’ll unsubscribe as you suggested!
🤍🤍🤍
I have used Clinique products since I was 16 years old, am 59 now. Anytime I tried something else, my face gets irritated. I never understood the mishmash of products women have. Stick to a routine, your skin will thank you.
Hola, como la gustaria que fuera la vida
Good tip on unsubscribe just do it now😊
Best UA-camr Ever!!! And Christina Keep making like this only videos ✨♥️🥹you are my truly truly inspiration
You’re the best! ❤
