This pair of Tony Lama cowboy boots was mailed in to us for repair. This gentleman wanted new JR leather soles and Vibram rubber top lifts. We decided to take this renovation a bit further and give these Tony Lama boots the works. After polishing the boots with some Saphir Renovateur conditioner and finishing them off with some Saphir Pommadier shoe cream, this pair of boots was ready to be returned to the owner. Time for another restoration!

I love these highly- detailed resole jobs... Also, the shooting style of having you both working together is really great. In fact, I think that I've found a video to tie with my previous favourite, which was the Lobb repair... Again, the camera-work is excellent, but the real strength of the video lies in how Heath breaks down and explains the steps.
Considering the attention to detail, meticulousness and care that you both put into your work, I find myself wondering what you could do if you were to take on a restoration of Trenton's Mustang?! (or was it a Camaro?)
I bet that a whole lot of people would LOVE to see that! Thanks guys!

I and my wife live at our ranch here at Lake Thunderbird in Norman Oklahoma, where we raise Horses and Cattle. I was the Sr. Board member of the "Norman Round Up Club". My Cowboy Boots are MANDATORY out here. We have Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes, Pygmy Rattlesnakes, Copperheads, Cottonmouths and other things that like to bite. A GOOD pair of Cowboy boots are a 100% requirement here!......( killed 3 Pygmy Rattlers just last year, killing one of them by stepping on it with my boots )...........My most comfortable and favorite boots are my Rattlesnake Boots. Extremely soft leather, but very durable and bite proof (so far LOL)

Rex Krueger said it best that the old school traditional ways usually work best for hand tool work. Craftsmen didn’t waste time, money, effort, or materials if they were any good. They found the best ways they could to produce the best work they could with tools, jigs, and processes that just worked over time. It looks like y’all blend quality, new materials (leather soles with small lugs for example) with traditional techniques. It’s mesmerizing to watch you both killing it at your craft. Thanks for the great content.

Thanks for this insight on Tony Lama boots! I would definitely use those lugged soles on mine. I bought my first pair of TLs (also my first pair of cowboy boots) in 1989 or so on the advice of a coworker who only ever wore boots, and said regardless of what I thought about cowboy boots, I should really try a pair of Lamas. I went down to the local western wear store (used to be a lot more of them around here), tried on a pair, and that was it!
I've had two other pairs since then and love them. They're definitely made to a price point, and if I compare my newer pairs to the original (which my son now wears), I can tell they're not quite as well built. That said, they're really comfortable, the price is right, and they do seem to last. I had another coworker who would only wear Lucchese, but I could never bring myself to pay that kind of money!

@@TrentonHeath I'm picking them up today and putting them in a box. He can't wear them anymore, so a resole is a great way for me to put them back on the road. 😍

Used to live in Oklahoma... wish you still did. Having guys of your ability local would be amazing. When I get work done on shoes or boots I’m always left thinking it should have been better.

Tony Lama has gone the way of so many iconic brands. As a retired Oklahoma horse trainer, I and many of my cowboy friends have moved towards more quality and more durable boots. I personally wear Anderson Bean or Rios of Mercedes. Many cowboys may have $20 of shirt and jeans on but their boots and hat will cost hundreds.

Anderson boot Co. Makes sturdy boots. They also make our men’s sandals! 😉

I like the new JR soles and they would absolutely work great on a pair of made in Mexico Ariats I have that are like bedroom slippers when I put them on lol I asked earlier about reshaping the width of a Dan Post also. Stay safe my Guys Semper Fidelis

would love to see more loafers restrictions. I’m from Sweden, so a use more suede loafers in my free time or Oxfords in office time then boots. grateful if you make clip how to deeply take care of loafers/suede shoes and also more about the inside of the shoe. would love to get new life in my Tods. watched your previous video on suede.
keep up the good job and continue to do awesome content✌️👍🇸🇪

    Trenton & Heath;”:
    1. Excellent and pristine job ✨
    2. Seriously whoever complains on how you all do the uppers should remember you all give each and every customer and client from what I’ve seen since the past two years the Red Carpet treatment💎. I always see you all do more than needed and even myself who hasn’t become a client yet appreciates this.
    3. Thank you all for your service, because watching your videos makes me want to send you all shoes of mine for sure in the future.
    4. Yes, the new JR soles look awesome anything to protect the leather investment of a high end shoe sole, I say double-sole the shoe with JR and then top it with a Vibram or just Dainite the bottoms from the beginning.
