This video demonstrates how Mark creates some of his glass art. There is no audio as this was developed to run in a continuous loop in a digital frame at a gallery.

Can adding glue work for securing the stingers in that large piece with the green and white stringers? Or does the glue cause clouding etc etc ? Thank you for such great tutorials, they really help me as a novice.....I also like seeing what kilns you are using, it helps too. 💜
The large piece is actually made with 1/4"strips cut from sheet glass and fused together. No glue is necessary. I have another video that shows how I cut strips you should check it out!
I build it no thin fire which is on a piece of cardboard and carefully move that into the kiln. Then I carefully slide the cardboard out from under the project and tighten it back u.

Hi, I am enthralled with your stacked glass pattern bar it is absolutely beautiful. My question is, it appears there is space between the stacks of glass yet when you show the slices there are no spaces, how can that be, what am I missing. Thank you.

BillsBayou it’s there to keep the glass from flying off. The lap grinder is from Hisglass in Asheville and they used to have plans to build one.

Hi and thanks for the comment! The shelf is a corelite shelf. Its an extruded shelf and is super flat.

The spaces leave room for the glass to flow. A pattern bar fires hot enough and long enough for all the gaps to fill in.
