I really loved this, I preferred it over standard Guinness and then they stopped doing it. Used to be in Asda, was lovely with a beef stew! Hope they bring it back one day.
Seems like an awesome beer, I hope they will eventually export it to other places in Europe. So far my favourite Guiness is the Foreign Extra Stout 7 something abv version (the Belgian stronger Guiness to me has more alcoholly notes not balanced by the body). Haven't tried West Indies version so far. Milk stouts are one of my favourite styles of dark beers so I am definietely excited that Guiness had brewed a beer in this style.
Love this, far better than draught Guinness. Murphys is nice too. I just wish I could still get Beamish Stout in the UK 😪😪 Mackesons is quite nice too.
Wouldn't go as far as saying better then draught guinness. I don't know where u drink ur guinness, but if u went to a place like toners on bagott St in Dublin 2,ur opinion would certainly change. There is some seriously kick ass guinness out there, and u just have to find it. Depends on where u go yeno. Then again, this milk stout is quite exquisite, to say the least. My friend introduced me to it during a dinner party a while back , choco brownie with sprinkled sea salt on top, paired with this magical Guinness Milk Stout. Long story short, just try it..... Unfreakingbelievable. Do it, and thank me later
I'm even having 2 dinner parties 2moro and the next day.. Both desserts on the menu are accompanied by this wonderful milk stout as a pairing. FYI u should give it a try. Also its a beautiful pairing with Jameson caskmates Stout edition. Once again, thank me later after u have tried 😋
I think there is something in it, that in England, we don't get the same quality of Guinness as you might in Ireland. Wouldn't mind but I pay £3.60 a pint for it!!!
Hope it's available in Ireland and not just exported out to UK and beyond. The Antwerpen Stout I saw for the first time this weekend - It's relabelled Guinness Special Export Belgian Stout which was only exported in Belgium - you couldn't even buy it in Ireland!
Milk stout gets it's name from the use of lactose sugar used in it's brewing process. Lactose sugar is a by product of cheese making, it is in the whey which is left behind one the curds are removed, the whey is processed to remove the lactose sugar crystals. The lactose sugar crystals are added to the brew along with the ordinary sugar. Beer yeast has trouble digesting lactose sugar and turning it into alcohol, so the lactose sugar remains untouched and it gives the milk stout it's trademark sweetness. If you are lactose intolerant it's best not to drink milk stout as it could make you ill.
Hope to see a few here in California (Alas, fine beers seldom seem to travel well from over the pond, I doubt Milk, like coffee, has a healthy shelf life ...)
Just tried this today...Average stuff, and well, who wants to waste money on "average" stuff.??? Buy the W.I porter and have done with it if you ask me.
Why are you always praising Diageo? They have nothing to do with the brewing of these beers. Do you say well done to IAG when British Airways flies you to your destination?
How we can buy these Guinness in Italy? At the moment is impossible, no way. On official Guinness store they don't ship in Italy. We want try this Guinness too :(

totally agree, this milk stout is so easy to drink, and as for the west indies porter, wow,my favourite,

Saw this today in Tesco, but opted for some of their new Drygate cans instead. Will grab a bottle of this at some point, loved the West Indies Porter.
Hit the nail on the head about Guinness!!+ Great true review, cheers
I walked into my teach today and found they had this as new stock. also have got their antwerpen stout as well.
A true classic and a joy to drink.
Its like 'Mackeson with attitude'. I tried my first one tonight andI love it!
Really want to get my hands on a bottle- or twelve- of this
Good review, I agree this is a decent beer. Very different and nice to try something distinct. I enjoyed one at a time, not a session beer. Cheers !
Good review, I will have to get & try it. Thanks.
Have you got the new 'Antwerpen Stout' from Guinness yet Simon? Got it in Tesco today, its 8%, not bad for £2.00
Hope it's available in Ireland and not just exported out to UK and beyond. The Antwerpen Stout I saw for the first time this weekend - It's relabelled Guinness Special Export Belgian Stout which was only exported in Belgium - you couldn't even buy it in Ireland!
This is my favorite beer of all time, if anyone finds a place selling it please let me know :).

fair play on this one Simon
+Deans Beer Reviews Cheers Dean 😀
Very milky, it was like drinking a pint of full fat milk
Good review sir. I didnt think this was a bad beer
Like drinking a milky coffee, this one.
Hope to see a few here in California (Alas, fine beers seldom seem to travel well from over the pond, I doubt Milk, like coffee, has a healthy shelf life ...)
They don't actually put milk in it, they put lactose sugar in it
it looks good
Gracias amigo I wish we had that one ☝️ in Tennessee
8 - 10 Looks yummy.
Can I still get this
Just tried this today...Average stuff, and well, who wants to waste money on "average" stuff.???
Buy the W.I porter and have done with it if you ask me.
Trying this one alongside the video and I feel a strong metalic flavour. I'm actually disapointed. The West Indies Porter is a lot, lot better.
personally prefer the antwerpen felt this one was a little tasteless, I prefer taste over texture

You cannot smell lactose...
Where did you get it ? I went to Tesco because they had a tonne of new stuff on their website, but they didn't have anything in store :(
The wilderness off Wales, not much of a beer scene here so it was a case of me travelling to a Welsh Tesco Extra and picking a couple of bottles up.
How we can buy these Guinness in Italy? At the moment is impossible, no way. On official Guinness store they don't ship in Italy. We want try this Guinness too :(
WHAT TEMP DO YOU DRINK THESE AT ?
Really wanting to try this but have only recently seen their Rye Pale Ale.
Do they actually put milk or dairy into a milk stout ?
HitchHikersBlues lactose
HitchHikersBlues no they dont
Guinness's signature colour isn't black (sorry to say) it's a very dark ruby. Guinness themselves state this.
A.J. Smith it’s black
Hex color: #010000 🤓
A very "meh" one this. Too thin and bland. When you can get west indies porter for the same price then there is only one choice.
theres no head on it!!???
