It is not responsibility of employers to give jobs to only to IIT students. They need people from other collages as well. In the end, why pay high salary to people when job can be done by any other engineer. The universities are pathetic in terms of providing skills to the students. They're minting money from the fees, however, students are not getting adequately placed/compensated in jobs. IITs are generally having good staff, infrastructure, funding and faculty... They're the sharpest of the young people, and a lot of them go abroad for jobs anyway. The tier-2 & tier-3 guys need jobs within India!

I think may be there is following possible reasons 1. IIT Students not able to compete with non IIT students 2. Institute or students fail give priority to build require competency and skills. 3. Engineering sector has always suffered right from beginning when demand of engineers were high engineers were not available when jobs were not available too much engineers were available so ratio was upside down in both cases it also happened when govt allowed too many engg colleges to open that spoiled the whole career base and raised unemployment problem

Can someone provide statistics of how many iitians work in the core engineering sector ? Most of them join banking finance marketing etc. Are IITs created to produce bankers ? It is not responsibility of employers to give jobs to only to IIT students. They need people from other collages as well. In the end, why pay high salary to people when job can be done by any other engineer. 10,000 is the new norm in india for starting salary. IIT graduate, doctors have to struggle for 4-5 years on this salary band, for 10 years you can think of 35000 salary brand, 6 figures salary only near retirement.

The universities are pathetic in terms of providing skills to the students. They're minting money from the fees, however, students are not getting adequately placed/compensated in jobs.
IITs are generally having good staff, infrastructure, funding and faculty... They're the sharpest of the young people, and a lot of them go abroad for jobs anyway. The tier-2 & tier-3 guys need jobs within India!
Because they're disconnected from industry
This is just the market scenario and will revive soon. None of the students from prestigious institutions like IITs or IIMs will suffer finding a job in the long term. Hope they land up with great jobs soon.

I think may be there is following possible reasons
1. IIT Students not able to compete with non IIT students
2. Institute or students fail give priority to build require competency and skills.
3. Student after pass-out from IIT expecting very high salary in first year. Other hand non IIT talents ready to do job at low salary.
4. In early 90s people used to say due to usage of Computer 🖥️ or IT system lots of job will erase, but things happen exactly reverse there is lot of new jobs created due to usage of computer and IT services.
So, please do not worry for 38% students if they improve require skills they will get what they want.

Hell , you can even make a better blend of Tea or some beverage & make a business out of it...... . .. There can be n no. of ideas . ................ But no........
