Kru Mod and Kru Pear are both great and wonderful teachers with very creative and useful role plays for students of Thai language.
I love you Kru Pear and Kru Mod 💙💙💙 Since I was in the Philippines until I moved here in Bangkok and been here for almost 2 years, I never really get tired of watching your videos. Keep 'em coming! 😍
Very advanced for me. But it is getting in the mood for our trip in April.
I must go back and review some of the old simpler ones.
My little Granddaughters, who have been there 3 months, will definitely know more Thai than I can learn in the next couple of months. From the first day, people on the street have been giving them treats and teaching them Thai. LOL
Thank you for this video. :)
Hahah I really enjoyed your role play
I am currently an exchange student here in Bangkok from the Netherlands. Your lessons are so helpfull!
Thank you
+Unrecognized Vlogs Thank you for watching. We are happy to hear that you found our lessons helpful! :)
Hello Mod! I really appreciate when you create these kinds of videos with Conversations in Thai, and subtitles.
I am happy to hear that. Thank you for watching and your positive comments. :)
SO glad I didn't pass on this lesson. I learned a lot! Khapkun na Khrap
Another excellent lesson from you guys! You are both fantastic teachers. Thank you!
Excellent lesson. Perfect length, great material, and as always a very practical lesson. Video quality is outstanding, and I really appreciate the phonetic and English translation at the bottom of the screen. This is essential. Then you review thoroughly after the dialogue, which is also important.
Great lesson and K.Mod is right, the noddles in Yaowaraj are super delicious
perfect lesson about thai language... everytime thanks a lot about kind lessons.

ThaiwithMod
I love Benjasiri Park. Used to run there in the evenings when I worked at Sai Nam Peung : )
Thank you!! :-)
Great! I hope you do more of these beginner-intermediate level videos. UA-cam is already filled with beginner stuff.
This lesson is too advanced for me but I love watching your videos! Great teachers! Khop khun ka!
Very good!! it helped me a lot! Thanks
Excellent thanks
Sawadee krap kruu Pear! This is a great and interesting video! I keep the useful slang expressions. Duu lae tuaaeng dii dii khrap!
Thank you for all your excellent videos. I think the natural (fast) speed of conversation helps prepare people for understanding Thais in real life.
One phrase I hear often in Thailand but has never been covered before is ขี้เกียจ which appears to be used more to say you don't want to do something, so it would be great to to have a video covering that.
ขี้เกียจ literally means 'lazy' ka :) We also use it with the pattern : "ขี้เกียจ + do something" = don't feel like doing something.
Example ;
มด: ไปออกกำลังกายกันมั้ย Do you want to go to exercise?
แพร: ชั้นขี้เกียจออกจากบ้าน I don't feel like leaving home.
ThaiwithMod Thank you for the explanation.
ขอบคุณครับคำอธิบายชัดมากๆ
Yayyy I’ve been trying to find out what kae-nai means for soo long so thank you for your explanation - “how much” 😘
No comment. Very good. ที่สุด.
very useful video.
very good video sawat dee khrap
very good vedio, you are so beautiful tutors!
Very. Helpfull vid
Very good useful lesson. Kop khun maak maak krub
I like better your new présentation structure is much better To make me understand .
Kru Mod ur acting is too much na krup!! 555....really so nice har the chicken noodle!
Finally some lessons with natural usage of slang :) not like in the textbooks. Thanks for the funny lesson, even tho' it's not yet really useful for intermediate learners. Do you guys plan to do lessons for intermediate learners? (Especially not using transliteration/phonetic would be useful for us who like to practice reading)
Possible answers (assume talking informally)
1. ไปทำงานยังไงอ่ะ
2. จะอยู่เมืองไทยนานแค่ไหนล่ะ
3. ตะเองคิดถึงเขาเท่าไหน
Based on answers 2 and 3, it is clear that you are not yet an intermediate learner. Perhaps you should actually listen to the lesson rather than bragging about how great you are.
I didn't say that I'm intermediate. So why don't you give me the real answer then instead?
Jan Badertscher เท่าไหร่ for number 2. แค่ไหน for number 3.
Per the lesson summary:
ยังไง used to ask for ‘how to something’
เท่าไหร่ used when the answer can be measure in numbers
แค่ไหน used to ask for ‘the degree of something’
This lesson is fantastic! When Mod said โคตรอร่อยเลยจริงๆ I was LOL ตลกยอดจัง เว่อร์!
Very good video but please adjust subtitle at 1:39 - "I ate three bowels" ..... The "e" must be removed but its ok because I fell off my chair laughing.
Beautifully presented and Mod's overstated character makes me chuckle : )
i like to learn
I've been confused by the words tao rai and kea nai for years ! use tao rai when looking for a numeral response. That's very easy to remember ! But i still hear Thai people say Glai kea nai ไกลแค่ไหน which is very Confusing indeed ! So please can you explain why is this or is this one just an exception. I love your channel, แต๊งคิวหลายครับ
เสียงเบื้องหลังดังไปหน่อยครับ
the background's a lil too noisy
Perfect🙏☮️
I have not seen the word อ่ะ used at the end of a sentence before. The definition is a "statement of resignation" Is there an English equivalent word for this expression?
The explanation was excellent. But the dialog was difficult because of the background noise.
kudos ! could you make it a bit slower next time....
You may want to edit the subtitle where it says you ate three "bowels" at once (1:39).
For Filipino watching this:
Tao-rai = Magkano
Kae-nai = Gaano
Yang-ngai = Paano
Ladies...ive run into trouble using นานเท่าไหร่ numerous times. When I ask this its usually met with an odd look or in the case of asking how long a taxi ride to a particular place would be...I'd be given a price. Just for fun I switched to นานแค่ไหน and that seemed to solve the problem.
Whats happening here and what am I saying or doing wrong?
I ike most of the videos in this channel. However, because of the loud back ground sound I can not understand anything.
I prefear definitly "clear" studio-sounds
I love Thai language. At 1:01 Khruu Mod says "แต่วันนื้วันสุกร์รถติด" The direct English translation is "But today Friday car stuck" 555555
วันสุกร์✖️
วันศุกร์✔️
1.38 ...3 bowels chicken noodles ??
in Yaowarat chinatown,Guai-jak is the most delicious!!
Great lesson Nong (Kru) Pear :) I'm a Thai native brushing up on my Thai. I enjoyed your lesson, but have a doubt about "bap ngai?" Is it the same as "yang ngai?" Thanks and keep up the great work!
Jay Sanguancheu Do you mean แบบไง?
แบบไง แปลว่าอะไร ไม่เคยได้ยินหรือเห็นมาก่อนเลย
khobkhun kaap!
I must say,Thai language is really funny cause of the nasal tone.
Hello Mod. i like your videos. i wish that the sound was better. it is very hard to hear with the background hiss. i hope you are successful and can afford better production. I would also suggest you look at "Professor Oh" who is Korean youtube video producer. She has a very fun and popular format. I love your videos but find the sound quality a distraction. Thank you for all your hard work
a
Kruu Pear......how about chai way laa gii mong?? When is that used??
Krù Pear, khun suãy mâk mâk kráp 🥰
Kôot suãy kráp 😉
There is a mistake in this video. In the role play Pear asks How do I go there? bpai ngai a? But in the explanation Pear uses the question Bpai yang nai? It's confusing. But I love your videos overall.
MrPeterpott it can drop to Bpai-(yang)-ngai. The formal word of yang-ngai is yang-rai but in the spoken Thai we commonly say 'yang-ngai' or -'ngai' such as 'tum yang-ngai > tum-ngai' which means 'how to do that' .. you can put any verbs in front of -ngai to ask How. Gin-ngai how to eat, lén ngai how to play, chái ngai how to use, ect
Thank you for explaining. Very helpful.
I don't know if I ever learn the listening part.. I understand it clearly when you say it slowly but then when you say it fast it sounds completely different.
Thank you for watching my lessons.
Listening can be most frustrating skill to master. Keep practicing. :)
@@ThaiwithMod I hope Lol. Have a good evening kruu Mod ;)
Mod is good at acting :)
First comment I win Thank you Mod for this new video
hi Mod...
ขอถามหน่อย คำว่า [บอด] หมายถึงอะไรที่เวลาเล่นไพ่กันอยู่ครับ
Hello Khun Mod,
I love your videos and have learning to speak Thai a little bit over the last year. I have a question;
How do you I say in thai: "This is my fourth time in thailand"?
What thai words are used for "first time", "second time", "fith time" and so on.
Thankyou
Lauder86 ฉัน/ผมมาเมืองไทยเป็นครั้งที่ 4 แล้ว (chʌn/pəʊm.mɑː.mʊəŋ.taɪ.bpen.krʌŋ.tiː.siː.leəʊ)
I change your sentence a bit because if I translate it word by word, it would sound strange, but the meaning is the same.
First time is ครั้งแรก (krʌŋ.reəg) or ครั้งที่ 1 (krʌŋ.ti.nʊŋ)
Second time is ครั้งที่ 2 (krʌŋ.ti.sɔːŋ)
Fith time is ครั้งที่ 5 (krʌŋ.ti.hɑː)
Just add ที่ like you add 'th' after the number in English.
if my teacher was as beautiful and elegant as you i would have been top of the class :)
Hey, I love this park! Next time tell the workers to stop, there is a movie set going on!
เสียงผื้นหลังมากๆครับ ผมคิดว่าทำวิดีโออยู่พื้นที่นั้นความคิดไม่ดีเลย ขอโทษนะแต่ผมต้องบอก
This lesson is the shit!
Instead of saying "โคตรอร่อย" could you also say "อร่อยจะตาย" or is that completely wrong?
Christian Kell อร่อยจะตาย would be used when you express your opinion against someone else who thinks the opposite. :)
oh ok, that changes the context quite a lot. Tthanks again for explainationIt's fun exploring the subtleties of Thai language with you khun Mod :-)
Mod you are beutfule
Lots of traffic sound in this one Mod!
kao narak mak!
can a guy speak in this manner? do guys used the same slangs as the girls?
Men can use เชย (/chɜ:ɪ/ 6:22), บ้านนอก (/bɑ:n nɔ:g/ 7:00), โคตร (/koʊd/ 7:18) and เว่อร์ (/wɜ:/ 8:00), too. Though they don't usually use เชย (/chɜ:ɪ/) and บ้านนอก (/bɑ:n nɔ:g/) because they don't talk about these topics much.
And โคตร (/koʊd/) is also rather impolite. Men tend to use this word more than women.
Whynot sorry i cannot read thai words, only learning to speak.... can you type them in English..
I don't know how to type like in the video. Is it okay if I use phonetic symbols?
i am lazy, i can't speak english.
Baawk waa "Ban-nok"...Khohn Thai baawk waa "Mai soo phaap!" But I'm proud to be a country bumpkin (hick) so I say "Better Ban-nok than Bang-kok"
lol good one
what does gae mean in english?
Khob kun krab
It means " you " use with close friend.
+Rich darcy as Yarin mentioned, it is "you", but more commonly used by women than men (gay guys use it a bit, as well). It's used between female friends who don't want to use กู มึง (ku/meung)
👍👏🙏🌹🌹🌹
Actually confusing pronunciation. "โคตร์อร่อย". However in the play she said โคตร์อล่อย" -the "ล" sound clearly said instead of the "ร" sound. I now know this is common as I've been learning and listening to Thai people for some time but when first learning I found it very confusing. Please, why not get it right for your students?
If you two were sitting alone in a park in America, you would have guys trying to talk to you non-stop!
KORB KUN KAB, RATRII. SAWAAD,
Good lesson but too much background noise. Maybe you girls cant revisit this inside ... KKK
Poo
Can you do a video on the Thai Alphabet as well as another video on Thai grammar?
khun swey mark.phom chup chup khun dai mai krap?
โคตร (koht) sounds so rude, because it's a word used to insult a person's เชื่อสาย (ancestry).
:)
Yaowaraj is a ripoff chinese place. Dont ever go there.
So much noise
More please
Sawadee krap kruu Pear! This is a great and interesting video! I keep the useful slang expressions. Duu lae tuaaeng dii dii khrap!
