UPDATE: I have since learned that OBS studio uses less CPU, so it doesn't make your computer work as hard and I now use that. I recommend using OBS studio for both Mac and PC, but especially MacBook airs that aren't as strong ")

Literally been looking for other mac users who use this capture card for forever! Thank you so much!
Same. Why doesn’t this show up first?!!!!
i was way too tired to figure this out. thank you.
This was clutch! I have an older avermedia device, but this still worked! Thanks!
heyallll yaa!
YEEEESSS this is what I was looking for! Thanks Queen!
so glad I could help!!!
Thank you for posting this! It was very helpful. I’m thinking of buying this for Nintendo Switch to record on my Mac and am a newbie to this. It still looks a bit overwhelming but your video helped because now I have a better idea of what to expect. I’m sure I’ll be watching it again during setup. 😁
that's AWESOME! im so glad i could help :)
omg thanks so much!! I was looking for this exact video lol. I'm trying to stream with a switch and I hope this will help. Thank you a lot babe!!
Yesssss girl! I hope it worked!
Thanks for the video!
Merci pour ce tutoriel cela ma vraiment aider super ;)
Thanks for this!
THANK YOU SO MUCH
this was so helpful, thank you! It's hard finding a capture card that works for macbook. I use OBS but the setup was the same.
Awesome, I am so glad! When I first started streaming I used OBS, but I switched to streamlabs just because people told me it was easier. Out of curiosity, what is your decision for using OBS?
@@qlevrqt8886 It was a performance thing. Streamlabs used a lot of my CPU and made me drop a ton a frames, but OBS is a bit lighter and doesn't give me those issues. I use it with StreamElements for my alerts, overlays, & chatbot.
@@cloverleaks633 ohhhh, wow thats great to know!! Thank you!
Awesome
good job
Nice
Thank you so much :)
Thank you for this video
You're welcome!!
Thank you for your tutorial :) I have this same setup, but for some reason my game audio wont come through stream or recording. It will with exact same Streamlabs setup on windows... Any thoughts?
You can try to add it as a separate audio input, or from the capture video setting set it up to "direct audio"
my little sis has just got one and needed help setting it up so thank you for the great video it was a huge help and can i just say DAMN!! 🤣🤣 haha
HAHAHA, glad you found me!!
Great video! Do you know if this capture card will be able to record both the party chat and game chat?
Thank you! Yes capture cards do pick up both party and game chat, although there are specific audio settings you have to choose on ur xbox
Thank for the video. Could you tell what is the file size from this capture card? I want to record from Xbox Series to my Mac. I wonder if I should buy an external ssd/hdd.
I am so sorry for the way too late response. I honestly have no idea what the file size is but if you want to long term use a mac for streaming and external ssd/hdd would definitely be a better way to go
Cool
What if you got a Macbook Air? Could I just a Micro B to a Type C wire and would it work still?
should work!
will this work with OBS as well? i know you said streamlabs but I use mainly OBS.
I believe so. I am not 100%, I actually started in OBS studio for like a couple days but I honestly can't remember if I actually streamed using it or not. Sorry :/
Hey I’m having a lil bit of a problem, it’s doesn’t want to show my game play on the stream labs app but my monitor turns on and everything
I would double check your HDMIs are set up properly, and that your MacBook is allowing recording access
hi, can it only be streamed to consoles? can not retransmit the pc itself?
Hi, the purpose of the capture card is to so that you can stream a console to a pc/laptop. Otherwise you can stream solely from a console using the console's own streaming capabilities. For gaming AND streaming on PC, you don't need a capture card at all. I now have a PC and I just use streamlabs OBS. does this answer your question?
If you don’t want to live stream but you just want to capture games and upload them to yt or twitch how would you do that? I have an Xbox series x and I just use it with my tv. It isn’t attached to my mac. Mac is in another room.
Okay! All you have to do is capture the in-game recording through your xbox then. There is a default shortcut I believe, or a shortcut you can set with the controller buttons to capture a recording. I don't remember what it is, so if I am using xbox to screen record I just go to the menu, details found here:
support.xbox.com/en-US/help/friends-social-activity/share-socialize/capture-game-clips-and-screenshots#:~:text=Press%20the%20Xbox%20button%20%EE%8F%A3%20to%20open%20the%20guide.,(capturing%20to%20external%20storage).
When you want to save and download the recordings, use the xbox app on your phone so that you can easily edit and upload to yt!
Did you use headsets while gaming and using this capture card?
sure did!
hi! wish are the specs of your MacBook Air? im looking for this capture card but I had a MacBook Pro mid 2015 and on the main web of the product it says that you need 16gb ram and an Nvidia on a MacBook to run it, and I thing its impossible, thanks!
Hi, I am really sorry for the delayed response! My macbook air is also from 2015, so it's not new either: 8GB ram, 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5. It's true to run smoother, you want a stronger computer. My macbook air would get very hot, and lag a little, but it did still work. The important thing is still having enough memory on the laptop, and having good, stable wifi.
I also did upgrade to a PC since I made the video, but streaming on an apple laptop may be the only option for many people, and it does at least work!
Do you need 2 hdmi cords for this
yep! one for the capture card to the xbox and one for xbox to the monitor
I'm having problems with game audio not going thru when I stream, do you use wireless headphones or used to or usb or headphones plugged into the controller, because I have mine plugged into the controller and the game audio and gamechat doesnt go thru
The unfortunately with Xbox game hat doesn’t go through for privacy reasons. Only party chat will go through as long as the people in your party hit accept to be in the stream
Thanks but I meant like game audio like if you play cod for example if the audio of you shooting and that goes thru@@qlevrqt8886
i got the live gamer mini and have a macbook and setup all that you have but my game audio doesnt go thru , only when i unplug my headphones from the controller it does so thats why i asked what type of headphones u use
@@fipzoo ohh, sorry for the misunderstanding. I used a wireless controller and my headphones were connected into my controller. What are your audio inputs and outputs on streamlabs? Need to make sure it’s using your headphones as audio input AND your tv/monitor as audio input (two different audio inputs). If this didn’t work maybe try the monitor/tv as an audio output
Sorry I haven’t streamed in a long time but I actually just remembered that I plugged my headphones into my monitor, and that’s how the audio input could come from the monitor/headphones
can you help me that i have downloaded the avermedia driver from avermedia's homepage but it cannot install. Tks
I never downloaded a driver!
@@qlevrqt8886 so what if i want to get RECentral express app at 1:09 min on your video? thank you
@@qlevrqt8886 I mean I'm having trouble downloading RECentral express for Mac, it just downloads as .exe and obviously my Mac is not running it. How do you get your Mac software like your video at 1:09? Thanks
@@vlogarm2078 So sorry, my mistake I was confused! Are you sure you are downloading the macOS version and not the windows version?
1. go to avermedia live gamer mini GC311 product page
2. Where it has the navigation bar near the top click "download"
3. Don't download the first one that appears, click "application" (right next to "download manager"
4. Scroll down until you find the correct OS that isn't for windows, it's for macOS
:) help this helps!
Hi… I have the live gamer ultra which works great on windows… I have a tutorial on that.. but now I want to use my late 21’ MB M1Pro to steam my PS5… but OBS can’t get the signal from the capture card, the LGU keeps loosing signal… I already had it set as you showed… uhhhhh 😫
Im not really sure how to troubleshoot for you since I don't use a PS :/ I hope you figured it out!!
@@qlevrqt8886 yes I got it working! Will post an overview & setup tour soon… plz follow along 🙏🏽
This was very insightful! Could you tell me what the specs of your macbook are?
Ah I am so glad! 2015 macbook air: 13inch screen, 8GB ram, 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5.
@@qlevrqt8886 Thanks for replying c: I didn't think the capture card would work with it cause of the requirements AverMedia has on its website - did you ever have any issues at all?
@@EllyXia at the time i bought the capture card, there were not specs for a good streaming laptop on their website, so that's new! My laptop would definitely be hot and get loud cause it was working so hard, and the stream sometimes lagged, but it worked for the setup I had at the time! --I have since upgraded to a PC
@@qlevrqt8886 Ok, thank you so much!
Mine keeps saying Resolution not supported for resizing and won’t show my game, any solutions u have?
that is really interesting, never heard that before. Do you have both webcam and game play sources? Which macbook do you have? And you are using stream labs?
@@qlevrqt8886 I figured it out now it wouldn’t allow to play 1440 120 hz but once I switched my display to 1080 the screen showed up on and no longer had that message. Thanks
@@matthoffman2124 oh perfect! that makes a lot of sense. good luck with your streaming!
@@qlevrqt8886 Appreciate it👍
Can you do one on windows? I'm having trouble finding a good tutorial for windows.
im sorry i dont have any windows laptops!
Girl, I love you. 😂
*update* Still no in-game audio on slobs.
Hi nice vid. I was wondering does this capture card has 120fps passthrough?
Yes, it does . I have the same one.
@@allformulaisequalunderthes8223 sweet thanks for the answer
@@allformulaisequalunderthes8223 how did you manage to do 120fps passthrough?
@@allformulaisequalunderthes8223 bulshit, no 120fps passthrough on CG311
I know u are never gonna see this comment but ur honestly a lifesaver, tysm!
wow that makes me so happy!! thank you for your comment :)
Mac won’t let check screen recording for obs -_-
It won't let you click record?
what macbook u use?
In this video, the 2015 MacBook Air
can record resolution 1080?
@@qlevrqt8886 i see, without upgrade ram?
That’s a pretty noticeable lag, it seems like it might has something to do with your MacBook.
oh, absolutely. It definitely had lag because what was showing on streamlabs was the infinite loop of the computer screen, making the computer work extremely hard. On top of that, you will have lag when using a Macbook air simply because it's not meant to handle streaming. However, sometimes that's the only device people have and they want to get started before they invest in a nice PC!
Ни чего не понял но очень интересно
nothing about HDCP? most common PS4 problem...had to go to another vid...
Thank you for bringing to my attention that I should specify this video is for xbox console. Sorry I couldn't help you here!
@@qlevrqt8886 totally should if youre going to be helping people with trouble shooting
Just disable HDCP in PS4 settings lol
awful dude
