I discovered Pete's channel a lil while back and the one consistent thing is: he's a very down to earth guy. I really like his information he gives on amps and pedals
Me too!! Haha I had to then track down the Peavey classic 20 amp from the 90s after he sang its praises in a live stream and I thought hey that’s one amp can actually afford and Pete recommended it so I’m on it!

@@enricopallazzo2987 Which Fuzz is that exactly? What do you think what the name of that model is?
Best rig rundown I've seen. Thanks for everybody who made it happen! Very humble but yet so excited and proffessional. Great lighting, camera work and editing too!
Great interview GG. Am really interested in your Signal chain Pete and how you generate such monster tones, all of them are just nailed man, nothing cringey or overdone hey. So as I watch, with the intention of trying to get some your tone into my sound (somehow), I find your playing always takes my focus...like the notes always shine through what ever effects are trailing them. Then I realize your like EVH...even if I replicated your entire chain, there's probably countless days spent dialing all those tones in and after all that, they are only complimenting awesome playing. Love yr work man.
Woodshed for months with a non master volume amp cranked (hopefully with a fryette power station or something similar) and a low output paf or single p90 guitar and watch the tone in your hands grow every day my friend cheers and best of luck to you
I really LOVE Pete's playing and awesome tones he is achieving with that awesome rig/effects/guitars!! Not a big fan of all of the tap dancing with all those pedals personally. Killer tones one again..and that Suhr Strat is BEAUTIFUL!!!
Ha! I did think that... in the moment.. "this isn't going to look like I'm doing this quick". Reason was, on my switcher I was in instant access mode, NOT preset mode- in preset mode you can make a preset that simply switches a BUNCH of things with one button push. In Instant access mode- it's more like a pedalboard with no switcher- you have to turn on and off effects and switch amp channels manually. But rest assured- you CAN switch ANYTHING and EVERYTHING at once with one button push, by making presets, in a rig like this.
Love it! But talk about overkill .I think a few of those pedals are redundant but hell I'd probably do the same thing if I could! I guess if you have the space might as well switch in a bunch of stuff.
I imagine he didn't have a clean amp preset for the tour, so he had to fiddle about a bit to get there in this video as it wasn't among his easily accessible patches?
This is one we could find for the Glasgow show! www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-classic-rock-show/2020/royal-concert-hall-glasgow-scotland-23986ccf.html - Some absolute TUNES in there!!
the main tone machine of the rig is Pete's fingers and talent. he could get by with a much smaller board and still hit it out of the park every night. i can't afford all of that, so i rely on my feel and one amp and a couple of pedals to get across what i need to say. I'd love to hear Pete play my rig. it would be amazing.
I thought he was a huge line 6 fan. kinda surprised he isnt using a helix with tube amp. seems a lot easier than that crazy pedalboard. Guess that means the helix (or any other modeler) isnt quite up to the task yet.
He could probably do without a few of those pedals if he used a shorter cable ! That thing looks about 25ft which would be robbing a lot of top end. 🤔🤔🤔🤔
For a little rock music that he plays that is one stupid pedalboard! I hate when rockers need 50 thousand dollars gear to play. It’s so un rock and roll. And all only play ultra custom gear . Custom everything. It’s so un cool !
That's sad to see that if you want a good Les Paul you have to ask to Gil Yaron because Gibson is not able to build Les Paul nowadays... By the way Pete is a genius, a guitarist way to much underrated!! As Doug Rappoport or Lari Basilio are...!
Pete Thorn = One of the classiest people in the business.
He sure is an absolute gent Mike, a real pleasure to chat to!
Gotta love Pete’s enthusiasm, knowledge and playing ability... such an inspiration to all guitar players🤘
He really is David, we always love chatting with him!
Pete’s the man, such a nice guy and INCREDIBLE song-writer and player.
Pete is such a kind and gracious man. What a talent. What a great example of how people ought to be.
Loved this video. Interviewer did a great job asking questions without getting in the way. Pete was awesome as usual great playing and tones!
Very good interviewer - open, non-intrusive, encouraging, warm. Well done
Cheers bud! It was an absolute pleasure to chat with Pete!
Pete a great guitarist and always happy to talk and share about gear. You can see loves what he does.
Pete is a mad scientist, love his channel too.
Pete is the best. What a cool, talented, humble guy!
You got that right man, he's an utter gent! 😁
He seems like one of the nicest guys in the business and is a real guitar player.
I bought my Suhr Riot Mini right after listening to his demo vid. Great player and great pedal.
Watched again to get your compressor tips this time. So helpful and informative. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!

Pete is the MAN! It was so amazing to chat to him all about his touring rig! 👏🎸
Pete Thorn has talked me into buying way too many pedals lol
Yup, Pete has the power to do that!
You're not alone....First 10 minutes and I already hit pause twice to look for the freq pedal AND the Hendrix fuzz lol
Me too!! Haha I had to then track down the Peavey classic 20 amp from the 90s after he sang its praises in a live stream and I thought hey that’s one amp can actually afford and Pete recommended it so I’m on it!

@ that is a dunlop jimi hendrix mini fuzz
Love Pete. Wicked Pedalboard = Mission Control. Stay Safe brother.
It's like a spaceship that pedalboard, so many buttons!
Wow, what a great rig Pete…& thanks for keeping the classic tunes alive…
Great player and nice guy. Love Pete's gear demos.
This guy has the best accent, Pete is awesome, great rundown!
Dude is such a gear head I could listen everyday all day...🎸💪🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Pete has been my go to guy for demo on new or interesting gear. He's the reason I have spent way to much money... :) Rock on!
Modesty and incredible talent. Superb player
Best rig rundown I've seen. Thanks for everybody who made it happen! Very humble but yet so excited and proffessional. Great lighting, camera work and editing too!
Wow cheers man! Thanks for your kind words. Keep your eyes peeled for more rig run downs coming soon. 😁🤘
If Pete comes to Australia, I’ll pay good money to see him play!
Amazing musician, and seems like a super nice guy.
We agree! Big love for Pete Thorn!
My god that tone is so refreshing 😮
Pete is such a great guy!
Awesome video. Thank you!
awesome variety of sounds, sounds sweet.
What an impressive rig! Pete is the man!
Sick tones as always from Mr Thorn!
Pete always delivers the tones! What a guy 😁🤘
Pete has the biggest and best candy store for sure!
Pete is a very cool dude.... And a killer guitarist!
Yup, we're in utter awe of his talents... and his rig!
That guitar looks very hot rod!!! And sounds super spicy.
Having a Vemuram Jan Ray on the board and NOT using it ("right now") is just the coolest.
Love Pete's t-shirt and love Keith Richards! Rock on!
Not only the god of tone but Pete Thorn is true guitar hero

Killer tones indeed John! Pete is an absolute boss, and we loved chatting with him and getting an insight into his touring rig! 😁
Pete is such a good guitarist because he can look at his guitar, and his music at the same time
Guessing the HX Stomp is for backup?
Wondering the same thing
Greetings from Mexico. I have a request, I wish they could activate the automatic subtitles option. Thanks for the video.
Fanatstic guitarrist and youtuber he´s chanel is great ;) Saludos desde españa ;)
Just heard the best modern day LP tone
5:50 “and if I go back to the clean channel real quick...” then presses 20 buttons.

Dang that's awesome. How can I get all that into a Helix patch? =)
But Pete, what is the HX Stomp for?
Eskil I believe it’s a backup in case his pedalboard and amp stuff up...
I was wondering also
I still waiting for the clear explanation for it
I was wondering the same thing!!!
That little amp sounds massive! This was probably the last show before Covid...
Pete says (@ 16:560) "EEPI PRE" in loop 8 ". great sound, but no freaking idea to what he's referring. any help out there?
Dunlop Echoplex Preamp.
That LP guitar pops!
I can see a line 6 HX Stomp next to Pete’s board, what is he using that for?
well spotted
In an earlier gear video Pete had a full Helix as a backup to his rig, wondering if that’s what the Stomp is.
@@marksh24 yeh must be some redudency thing. i did think maybe it was feeding some inears to one of the other guys since he said he didnt like iems
Curious to see what ones he would use on a "fly" pedal board so like if he had to keep it to 6 pedals or so Also surprised not to see any Strymon
So, what is the playlist for the show?

Will John be offering that neck carve from Pete’s Classic as an option?
Wow. The D.I. Actually sounded better to me. Usually I think otherwise. Must’ve sounded great live.
Is the Hendrix fuzz placed before or after the wah in the signal chain?
Can not understand why Pete uses Phase 95 separate pedal if there are lots of phasers in Mobius?
Hello what is the exact Takamine model please ? Thanks
Pete has to be one of the easiest interviews, watch him trading with Tim. Respect

That is one of the coolest paint jobs I've ever seen. Is that available, or a 1-off?
If you mean the red classic with birdseye maple neck than yes 1-off
The moen gec9 switcher is way less confusing .
SO PERFECT AND SO GORGEOUS ! MEIN GOTT *****
Anyone know which Suhr Strat pickups are in the red guitar?
I saw a video clip where Pete says they are V63's in the neck and middle
Must say the DI sounded way different to the cab mic and better tbf
I should know this, love Pete, but who was he touring with? They were obviously covering other artist.
Get a boost with an attitude, drop it like it's hot, drop it like it's hot.
Who's Pete on tour with?
He was on tour with The Classic Rock Show!
I LOVE THAT HE HATES IN-EARS!
Pedal carpet model
Peter as always is amazing, interviewer excruciatingly annoying ' ya no whata meen '
Someone make a pedal called the Wahzniak
He could probably do without a few of those pedals if he used a shorter cable ! That thing looks about 25ft which would be robbing a lot of top end. 🤔🤔🤔🤔
So many toys, so few recipes.
money money money money mon--eyyyyyyyy
the interviewer, is he smoke?
Everybody plays War Pigs these days. lol
WTF is with the background music? Is that really necessary??
with all respect ...too much is too much...good example ..lost in my rig...
Uh-oh, tonewooder alert..
All the great players are😉
Sandro Sadhukhan yes all great players are guitarded !
All great players are guitarded! They think that 200 kg guitar will have 165 kg more tone. Why they don’t goggle magnetic pickup beats me.
@@vintagepipesnightmares who gave you that info? The weight thing is actually opposite to what you said, according to great players😉

Silviu Stefan he is attempting to nail a ton of tones from various guitar players and he pulls it off very well.
@@JimsMusicJourney ... EXACTLY!!! It cost money to sound like some of the best guitarists ever! Not to mention Pete's talent to pull it off!
