It all starts with the cool little ferry ride that leaves from The Westin Key West Resort & Marina. In order to board the boat, you either need to prove you're staying out at the Sunset Key Cottages or you have dinner reservations at Latitudes.
When in Key West, if you're not actually staying on Sunset Key, going to dinner out there is a must. It's not one of those disappointing tourist traps, the service and the food are top notch and the view can't be beat!
This was our last night in Key West and we decided to treat ourselves to a nice romantic dinner at Latitudes on Sunset Key. If you're in Key West, make sure you have dinner here at least one night. As soon as you arrive in Key West, make your reservation as all the tables get booked out well in advance. Make a time just a 1/2 hour before sunset. 😊

When we're in Key West, we always make reservations & take the water taxi over to Sunset Key to have breakfast & or lunch at Latitude's.
Yes, I think we got the very last reservation at the very last minute on our very last evening when we were there. We now know better for the future as we will go back. Thx for the great idea, the for watching and thx for commenting. 🥰🥰
@@JoEllenandJoeDo you remember when the Latitudes restaurant was in a building on the left hand side? You know when you get off of the water taxi & walk up the dock & paver's pathway, the restaurant is in the 1st building on the right hand side? It originally was in a building that was on the left hand side back in the late '90s to early 2000s. They took down the old building & built more cottages.
@@stevenhall9009 - We didn't know that but thanks for sharing! While we love it out there and our meal, service and ambiance was amazing, we don't think we would want to stay out there. We prefer to be more in the thick of things as they say. But as we get older, we may like a more calm stay...time will tell.

We highly suggest that when visiting Key West, make sure you plan a sunset dinner at Latitudes on Sunset Key. You would think it's a tourist move or attraction but I can promise you, not only is the setting beautiful amazing but the food is incredible! We would definitely eat there again without hesitation but the next time, we would reserve our table well in advance for a time right around sunset for sure! As always, thanks for watching!! ☺
Hello...we are heading to Key West soon but could not get dinner reservations at Latitudes, only breakfast reservations! After breakfast, do you think we can walk around the island, or do they send you right back to the mainland when you are done eating??
You can totally walk around. The restriction for going over on the ferry was proof you are either staying there or you have a reservation at Latitudes.
I think another option you might look into is seeing if you can ask someone about simply going over there for sunset to sit at their small bar outside. This way you're still there for sunset and I think you can eat at the bar as well.
Don't stress about it though...you can see an amazing sunset at Mallory Square and Key West is amazing in so many ways.

In your opinion much time should we alot to breakfast and a quick walk around just to see the island. There is a lot to do on the mainland. Also how long was the ferry ride, I get seasick pretty easy.
@@daisycocoa2557 Hey, we just returned. The Ferry ride was only ~10-15 min and breakfast took maybe 90 mins at most. They would NOT let us walk around the island and told us we could only walk on the road on the side of the restaurant! They said that was to keep the island private & exclusive. But it was a nice morning out anyway and breakfast was really good! (try the French toast...amazing!)
I often wanted to take the ferry over and visit Sunset Key. Now as I understand it, they won't even take you over there without reservations, let alone be allowed to walk around. God has given me so much I try not to be envious of others; but alas, sometimes I am.
It is sooo worth having dinner at Latitudes. Because everyone wants to time their reservation for sunset, it's important to book well in advance of your trip and just make sure you look up what time sunset is on the day you'll be there. Normally, these sort of places are tourist traps and it's all about the atmosphere but we can assure you, the food was incredible and the service was outstanding!!!
@@JoEllenandJoe The place is on a private island that won't let you walk around. Free sunsets and better food can be held elsewhere that is not so selfish and owned by a mentally challenged billionaire dude
who hates key west voters by getting a law passed in tallahassee that says we cannot vote to keep giant cruise ships from docking at his private dock. Not nice person at all, do not support Mr Mike Walsh.

Seems like the whole attraction is a little boat ride, not really seeing the attraction food-wise
Everything about the restaurant was worth going to. When we sit down for dinner at a nice restaurant, we sort of draw the line there and stop filming especially when we’re having a romantic dinner out on the beach. To top it off, the lighting was simply too dark AND we don’t want to be a nuisance to others around us who are living in the moment. As travel vloggers, we also like to think of ourselves as being sensitive to the moments we're experiencing and to our surroundings and those around us as well.
All that being said, the restaurant was amazing, the food was incredible and the service was top notch!
