It's good to see that you did your research before you arrived to make the most of your trip. Most vacationers do not......they think all there is to do is eat and drink.....KW is such an interesting place if you read up. On your next trip I highly recommend the Dry Tortugas, Lloyd's bike tour of the island. KW is also one one the most haunted towns in the states......I also recommend doing the drive from Key Largo to KW.....42 bridges of the Overseas Hwy, 7 mile bridge, Fred the tree on the old section of bridge. Great stuff.....I love it there.
Agree, there's plenty to see and do there (although we did do plenty of eating and drinking too 😁). Thanks for your recommendations, they sound great! We would love to hire a car in future and do a few stops down the keys 🙂

Sitting in airport right now gettin ready to board a plane. Back to key west and the keys. My favorite place on earth. You did an excellent job hitting the good spots . The opal is a great place to stay . Thx for the vid

At last, a tourist who knows where the real southern most point is, LOL In 1972/73 I was stationed at Fleet Sonar School and Whitehead spit was at the eastern end of our beach, part of Naval Operating Base. (NOB) Key West One of the many little things our instructors had us do was to determine the latitude and longitude of the true southern most point on a navigation chart in. During my 10 1/2 months here my only transportation was a 10 speed bike I bought there and I rode it a LOT!
You forgot to mention a trip on a boat with a glass floor/bottom where you can see all the sea life as you glide over it and wonderful beachcombing And yes , the absolute pristine sunrise. Just get out of there by mid-Aptil !
You probably know this, cruise ships have to leave Key West’s port at the Mallory street has to leave by 4:00 pm so they don’t block the view of the sunset. GREAT VLOG. We’re cruising there in November. We’ve drove down for a week a couple years ago.
Can't say I blame you! While we were there people were commenting that it was like August temperature already, so I think we had a particularly toasty May 🥵
I read your comment and thought "yeah, I know they're flamingos?"... then took a quick look at the video and realised I said peacocks didn't I! No idea why I did that, what a parcel! 😅

Great video. Just returned from a 3 night holiday at KW. Seven days must have come at a cost.

That's why we go from October to March, too hot in summer for us, it's more expensive because that is peak time but worth it!

How did u get around?
We walked everywhere, except to/from stock island and the airport (we got taxis for those trips)
