If you were a young rocker in1980 you had to have this album! This whole album is brilliant! They were firing on all cylinders on this one great from start to finish. Go to the beginning of the album to hear the first tracks we heard when this album dropped. "Neon Knights", "Heaven And Hell", "Children Of The Sea" and "Lady Evil".
I was a young rocker in the 80s but I never had this album, moved onto other bands after Sabbath bloody sabbathbands like budgie, Uriah heep, Judas priest, lone star etc........
One of my favourite tracks from the Dio era BS. BW and TI shine on this for me. Also check out 'Over and Over' which is quite similar with extended TI soloing in the latter part (and also the last track) on Mob Rules. TI didn't play on any JT records - he wasn't in the band for long.
Every song on this album is a banger!! I especially love the guitar solo on this track! It's so melodic!! Tony is an awesome guitarist. Every song on this album needs to be heard!
Tony Iommi is quoted as saying this is his favourite solo of all.....who am i to disagree.....this album blew me away when it was released. I love Ozzy but the albums with Dio were on a different level.....seen Sabbath a few times....always great...and ive honestly never seen anyone hit drums so hard as Bill!!!
A ton of great songs from the Sabbath Dio years are definately worth checking out. Songs like "I", "Sign of the Southern Cross", "Children of the Sea", and "Bible Black" (group is Heaven & Hell at that time). Also don't forget about the Dio years with the group Rainbow. Songs like "Stargazer", "Kill the King", "Man on the Silver Mountain" and a bunch of other great songs.
Great song off an album filled with them. The title track Heaven & Hell, Die Young & Children Of The Sea are also stand outs on there. But if you've only heard Dio solo, you have to hit Dio when he was in Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow. If you haven't heard it yet, Stargazer from the album Rainbow Rising is a must. Plenty of other greats from Rainbow to.
This band had 4 albums & 3 songs tacked onto a Grts Hits. Heaven & Hell Mod Rules Dehumanizer The Devil You Know This band also had two names. The words under the angels is the name of the band. Those Keys? It makes it sound like stairway to Heaven.
Dio paired with Tony Iommi is just awesome. The only other thing would be Dio and Ritchie Blackmore. Try Rainbows Rising its ear candy. I believe you would ❤ their drummer too. The great cozy Powell.
Killer whole album. I think it's awesome RD recorded with BW. Too bad they didn't squeeze one more out... Vinny's drumming on the Mob Rules album is also outstanding!
isn't it funny how we always remember our first car music.... mine was a trip in my brand new car and i was listening to "garden in the bones" by periphery and i'll just never forget that 3 hour drive.
@davesaenz3732 I'm a fan of Paranoid, and it is essential to Heavy Metal, but it is inconsistent enough to me to make Heaven and Hell better. The better production, particularly, Tony's guitar sound, helps a lot. Bill Ward's drumming is far more subdued, though.
@@L33Reacts The other Black Sabbath song he did was It's Alright. There are a remastered video with Tony Iommi wearing a sweater 🤣. It's Alright are more like Black Sabbath doing Beatles but with a great guitar solo
It was a toss up between this song, Neon Knights, Heaven & Hell. I ended up choosing this track for the amazing melodic guitar solo! I also really like Die Young!! The whole album is amazing!
Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, Geezer Butler and Ozzy Osborne rocked me back on my heels when I first heard them. Ronnie James Dio was a helluva voice, great singer, just not my era of Sabbath; also prefer Ozzy's particularly skewed view of society and his own inner world as well as the one outside were more to my taste and in accord with my own worldview. Similar drugs? Maybe, if probably significantly less of 'em. Relatively, y'know? 🫨🤙🏼🎶❤️✨️🕊
My BS topic game. Name as many bands or musical people whose name has BS in it. Black Sabbath, to start us off. Jump right on in, folks. There are plenty of them. I'll give you a clue for a good one: Stray Cat Strut
This is a beautiful song. Bluesy metal kind of music.

I used to ride my BMX bicycle around the neighborhood in the evenings and listen to this cassette on my Sony walkman.

The first Sabbath album I ever bought, 12 years old in 1980. STILL my favorite band!🤘
I see why! They have a ton of material out and it's all varied it seems but still Sabbath. I dig that. They are awesome.
It’s an outstanding album front to back!

The first time I saw Black Sabbath it was this tour. No internet. Not much info. Just knew they had a new singer.
Unforgettable.
Great guitar work and I thought Dio’s vocals were not over the top. Thanks LindaU, that was good
i agree, he was more "restrained" here as you said earlier. I enjoyed it a lot.
It took a while for dio to grow on me but now mob rules is my favorite sabbath album can’t wait till you get to it
Symptom of the Universe, Children of the Grave, Hand of Doom, War pigs, this is where Metal kicks in and Black Sabbath. 🎸
Every song on this album is a banger!! I especially love the guitar solo on this track! It's so melodic!! Tony is an awesome guitarist. Every song on this album needs to be heard!
Check out the song "Heaven and Hell " live . . Dio was an amazing frontman .

Holy crap!!! Play this whole album..man I was 17 and literally for real I wore this cassette out on my boombox, then got to see them tour this album
Dio Sabbath. Great stuff

Heaven & Hell
Mod Rules
Dehumanizer
The Devil You Know

That was a great track ... amazing solo
tony don't play! that was crazy lol
Best track on a very good album. And Tony's favourite.
i see why it's his favorite. that was an incredible solo.
Dio paired with Tony Iommi is just awesome. The only other thing would be Dio and Ritchie Blackmore. Try Rainbows Rising its ear candy. I believe you would ❤ their drummer too. The great cozy Powell.
oooo ritchie and dio. that would be dope.
@@L33Reacts It is!

That was so good. I haven't heard this in years...
There's a lot of Jimmy Page in the last long solo from Tony in this. EPIC and passionate.
Cheers Mate!
I think there's a Blackmore influence in this solo.
Black Sabbath lullaby 👍
I had this tape and Pat Travers Heat in The Street when I got my first car. What a great summer. Endless repeat. Dio Sabbath is worth the listen.
isn't it funny how we always remember our first car music.... mine was a trip in my brand new car and i was listening to "garden in the bones" by periphery and i'll just never forget that 3 hour drive.
Dio 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
……need to listen to Heaven & Hell 🔥🎸❤️
Black Sabbath 1968-eternity🤘
There is not a bad song on this entire album. 1980 my Freshman year of high school. Heaven and Hell was my first Black Sabbath album.
Gotta do the wizard off their debut
As a whole, I prefer the Ozzy years, but this may be the best album of their career.
Peranoid is the best EVER but this has to be their 2nd best. Guitar World ranked Peranoid as the best metal/rock album of all time. 🎸. I agree.
Iommi had the kinks worked out by 1971.
Check out Black Sabbath - Swinging The Chains. Drummer Bill Ward on vocals and drums.
i'll have to check that out. thank you! sounds awesome.

Die Young - Sabbath, if you haven't heard it, you must.
Dio had his own version of Sabbath that would have DOMINATED had it not been for OZZY being just a bit better
ozzy was incredible. all of the stuff i've heard from them is just fantastic.
Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, Geezer Butler and Ozzy Osborne rocked me back on my heels when I first heard them.

My favorite song in this album but Die Young is better and Neon Nights and yes Heaven & Hell 🎸
