I have fan section locs or describe as shells or C shape, the first part of this video and I love my part sectioning. I think it's best for females because the hair loc lays nicely around your face.💞🔥

I sectioned mine in bricks starting with 3 at the neck. I only made 44 with the crochet method bc I have caucasian type 3a.
Started mine at 62 yrs old ... almost 3 yrs now.
Just don't forget your locks will shrink then thicken so consider that when doing your sections.

Thanks for the video. Ive been struggling bad. I feel that my head/ scalp is uneven. Parting from my left ear to my right ear doesn't match up. It's almost as if the right side / ear is lower. I have started over 2x. I'm still not uncertain & anxious. I'm really struggling to get the parts on point. I do not want to start over my locs. I want to be happy with the results once they start to form & long term. Wish me luck as I work to figure this out. Maybe I'll check out free forming vs being neat. I may be ok with that.
For me fan sections are the easiest way to do parting especially if you are doing it yourself
I had big toruble just around the crown. I had an undercut, my dreads were kinda sick in except for the crown part, yesterday I shaved and now I'm regrowing to start the second set. I had pencil size dreads even tho I have type 1 hair, but the thing is that I have seen a lot of black people sectioning without making the dreads fall in between, and I was wondering if I could do the same, like I know Gunter said it's gonna add volume, but what do y'all suggest?

Yea that would be helpful so far I'm just learning by making sections and taking them out. Like every 3-4 weeks with a 2 week break in-between.

The “fan“parting is called C-parting. The triangle parting is actually called diamond parting.
