We have been using Honda EX5 for 30 over years. And its auto clutched. 👍✌️same principle as the quick shifter. When we press on the gear pedal the auto clutch with engage, at times we could also press the gear pedal half way and we can freely ram the throttle like a clutch bike. 👍✌️👌
Or you can use a regular shifter and don’t use the clutch👍👍 Only need the clutch for stops ands starts and sometimes from 1. to 2. gear. But you still need the clutch for auto shifter. The only thing it dose is to add or cut power when you want to change gears. But you could do it manually.
Yeap up shifts can be replcated without clutch,but down shifts no,I have ridden all my life without quick shifter and I get used to change gear without clutch, but believe me quick shifter is damn fun thing.👌✌️
Incorrect, You can actually downshift whit a regular shifter and without a clutch. However it takes som practice and you also need to know your bikes gear and at what rpm range you need it in. It is the rev match that unloads the transmission. If you add a quick input of throttle and then downshift it would drop a gear if you did it correct. It can take some time to get used to how much throttle you need to add in the different gears and stuff. But once you get used to "blipping" the throttle manually it becomes second nature. It is also worth noting that a quick shifter and a auto blipper is two things. The difference between a quickshifter and an auto blipper is the fact that a quickshifter allows clutchless upshifts while an auto blipper allows you to up and downshift without using the clutch.@@Motogents
While downshifting, the rev maching or blipping means increasing engine RPM to shift down smoothly avoiding the jerk and conserving clutch plates... Am i correct?

you can shift clutchless without a quickshifter. When done correctly it's faster than using the clutch and won't damage the transmission. More damage is done to a transmission if it's attempted to be power shifted (that is squeezing in the clutch but not letting off the gas in between gear changes.) You can shift any bike without the clutch, but you should mostly be using it if you're hauling ass or decelerating quickly. Just put pressure on the shifter and chop the throttle and back on quickly to upshift, give a little blip when downshifting. it's easy and fast

In case of downshift it is not the same principle and quickshifter has nothing to do with it, for downshifting you need a blipper not a quickshifter. Quickshifter for up blipper for down
Yes you are completely right,but it is all done with the same sensor,in case of up shift it is cutting of spark,in case of a down shift it’s opening throttle bodies. But maybe I am wrong ,that is the way I understand it .
They are fun but really not needed on something like a wr450, just ease off the throttle and poke it up a gear without using the clutch, it will change gear just as fast as a quickshifter, to start with till you have the timing down, just push up on the gear lever whilst accelerating, then close the throttle, you will notice as you let off the throttle the gear lever will select the next gear completely smooth and effortless. Try it, you will be surprised.

You still need to use the clutch to downshift and be careful between 1st and second as you're more likely to hit neutral without using clutch if you're trying to be fast, just make sure to use the whole gear lever travel when changing gear. You can clutchless downshift but requires throttle input with deceleration so it's a little pointless, better to rev match.
