He finished in 4th place ... behind magician Jon Dorenbos (who used to play with the NFL Philadelphia Eagles & his back story will make you cry) who finished in 3rd place ... an act called The Clairvoyants, who are from Australia and are a magician/mentalist act that finished in 2nd ... the winner was an 11 year old female singer, Grace Vanderwaal.
Grace is amazing, no pun intended, and the show tends to lean toward talent that seems . . . tractable. They definitely prefer inexperienced talent, largely because the contract you win isn't as great as it first seems. But it's fun to watch.
My Godmother was a Juiliard trained opera singer that travelled the world entertaining kings, queens and the masses. I always marveled at her skills, but more that, how she was able to move crowds and INDIVIDUALS with not only her voice but her PRESENCE. You have that same ability and I hope that everyone gets the opportunity to recognize it.
I read a little about the show's decision-making process. The reason they were hesitant about Brian Justin Crum made sense in context. He's a theatrical performer, the kind of person who would make a killing on Broadway - but the talent shows focus on recording artists. People like Brian Justin Crum will fill seats in a theater. Other performers would sell more songs. I've also read articles from other outstanding performers who didn't win - and said they were glad they didn't. They said appearing gave them recognition, but NOT winning gave them the freedom to work on their own terms.
Fun fact that is the 1st song i learned to play on the guitar. Im counter or contra tenor so mine is not the same if im singing but i can play with them and fake it a little. ❤❤❤
For Halloween, you could react to something from the Nightmare Revisited album such as Korn's cover of Kidnap the Sandy Claws, Amy Lee's cover of Sally's Song or Rise Against's cover of Making Christmas
Never been a fan of the "reality talent shows" but this dude is definitely talented. It is why the music industry is so backwards. Someone this good struggles, while people with far less talent top the charts and make big bucks. Mae me understand it.

Make a Man Out of You is the best of his performances to watch first. Amazing Grace, yes, he's got a ton of brilliant ones, but for a cold opening it's the Disney shattering that's the best one to go with.
You can't expect to base your entire opinion on him winning American Idol on one performance, and you can't really blame American Idol for him not winning because it's the people that vote.

Her rendition of Dvorak's "Song to the moon" is outstanding. She also had a shining personality and film star looks. My condolences to her husband, family and the opera world.

At 270k subscribers there is no excuse for having a camera this bad. Please invest in your channel and update your camera to something that doesn't looks like an early 2000's web cam. I want to watch your videos, but they're making my eyes hurt. Even the camera on your phone would be a huge upgrade. Not mad just frustrated.

His music is amazing! Who cares that he's gay that doesn't have anything to do with his voice. That is his personal choice.
Real talent rarely wins on these types of shows....Thanks Maggie. Personally do not watch them for this reason....usually a clown show mostly. 🥰🥰
